A poetry for y'all v57.0...
This is my response to FeatherDawn's  Poetry Challenge...

The Wages of Sin...

Take the key and open the lock if you dare,
But you have been warned.
There are thing that should be hidden from sight
In the soul of the forlorn...

Open the door and look inside, what do you see?
What is hiding in the shadows?
Do you see the demons as they pick at my soul?
Do you see the darkness as it grows?

Now you know what lies within the box,
Now you have seen the evil void inside -
Close the door and lock it fast
To hold the thoughts I wish to hide…

I can again enjoy the person I've become
With those thoughts kept safe from me,
And live my life in the light
For the box and the lock have set me free...

A poetry for y'all v56.0...
This is my response to FeatherDawn's  Poetry Challenge...

Upon a distant shoreline...

Upon a distant shoreline
Of some ancient half-forgotten sea,
I sit and watch the tide come in
As the waves crash over me...

Upon a distant shoreline
In a time so very far away,
We sat so close together
And watched the sun rise on a new day...

Upon a distant shoreline
That seems like a lifetime ago,
You left the beach and walked away
Though I begged you not to go...

Upon a distant shoreline,
I remain here still
Maybe you'll come back one day,
How I hope you will...

Upon a distant shoreline,
The end grows ever near
As the waves crash down upon my soul
And break upon every tear...

A poetry for y'all v47.0...
Editor's Note: This is my new piece for the PoetryChallenge  , the regularly scheduled Blog has been postponed until I have a chance to write it. K? So, I shall include the poetry thing here for all to read...

Because this challenge was to use any form of the word abandon, I chose a form that no one else would...

A Tale of Two Cities...

Through out the ages,
Across countless pages,
The story had be passed down
From generation to generation...

The tale as old as time
Set down in this rhyme
Of the two misguide lads
Who once walk upon this land...

Ab and On were two friends
Who stuck together to the end,
But who would've been better off
Going their separate ways...

No matter the fight,
Be it in day or at night,
They tried their best to do good,
But it always ended wrong...

And when the day came,
On saw his moment of fame,
But it meant leaving Ab's side
And the opportunity passed him by

He never abandoned his friend
As it turned out in the end
On was happier through it all,
But the same couldn't be said of Ab...

Down to the River...

And into this life, a little rain must fall,
Falling gently upon the earth
And so the circle of life continues
As I have been destined from birth...

Upon the ground and into the soil,
Giving life to all that is seen -
All the wide-open plains -
All the forests so green...

Some of my life to the river I go
And flow as it must,
Watering the countryside,
Bringing life from the dust...

And to a lake, a great inland sea -
The waters are alive
From the fish to the amoeba,
The water's do thrive...

And as the sun beats down,
Giving warmth to the lake.
The waters move on -
Life doesn't take a break...

Into the sky and into the clouds,
The waters must move on
From the edges of Heaven
To the new dew of dawn...

In the waters, we live
And without them, we die
From the juice of a kiss
To the tear of a cry...

And everything under the sun is in tune...

Tie my soul to a balloon
And set it free.
Let me float to the moon
To discover the true me...

One small step, one giant leap -
The dust of my memories
Is gathered for me to keep
The world's imagination they forever seize...

One side light, the other dark
Such are the things of my mind,
All the things that have left their mark
With every rock that I find...

The balloon brings me home,
Sets me gently in a field.
One day I will need to roam
To the next moon that I build...
