Pleo @ MindSay

New Family Members!
This week the DH & I became aunt & uncle for the 10th time! My sister had a healthy baby boy on the 20th. Congrats!

Baby nephew Seth is not the only new addition, however, a very special dinosaur also joined the family on New Year's Eve:

Shrek - a Pleo dinosaur

Shrek (so named by a nephew) is a Pleo - an advanced dinosaur robot. He can walk, make noise and react to life forms around him. (He also knocks over empty soda cans in his path.) He has advanced sensors all over his body and he knows when you are petting him. Evidently, Pleos can adapt and learn over time. He really is incredible to see. Shrek was a gift from the DH & I to our Spanish nieces & nephew. I want one now, too!

David & Shrek

Our nephew David & Shrek. He loves to be scratched behind the ears.

Pleo forums

This world. Is insane.  On the pleo forums, there's people complaining about an OPTIONAL(and quickly removable) special download that makes pleo sing mostly Christmas songs.  Such as Jingle Bells (which isn't Christmas) and I can't remember the others.  But now everyone wants carols from all the different religions.  Understandable and all, but it was released for Christmas.  Therefore go figure that it's Christmas songs.  Hanukkah is already over, and then there's Kwanzza but idk any of those songs.  I just can't believe how politically correct the world is.  And I know people will probably roll their eyes at this, or debate me on it, or tell me points and all.  But I think our world is too obsessed with trying to make sure that EVERYONE is happy, while in the meantime it's taking away from other stuff.

Something comes to mind:

In Florida, an atheist became incensed over the preparation of Easter and Passover holi days. He decided to contact his lawyer about the discrimination inflicted on atheists by the constant celebrations afforded to Christians and Jews with all their holidays while atheists had no holiday to celebrate.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the long passionate presentation by the lawyer, the Judge banged his gavel and declared,'Case dismissed!'

The lawyer immediately stood and objected to the ruling and said,'Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and many other observances. Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah...yet my client and all other atheists have no such holiday!'

The judge leaned forward in his chair and simply said,'Obviously your client is too confused to even know about, much less celebrate his own atheists' holiday!'

The lawyer pompously said,'Your Honor, we are unaware of any such holiday for atheists. Just when might that holiday be?'

The judge said,'Well it comes every year on exactly the same date---April 1st! Since our calendar sets April 1st as 'April Fools Day,' consider that Psalm 14:1 and Psalm 53:1 state,'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, in my opinion, if your client says there is no God, then by scripture, he is a fool, and April 1st is his holiday! Now have a good day and get out of my courtroom!!
