System Alternation

Although there's been no factor to alter my mood into feeling better or worse, I woke up feeling rather shit - and currently still do.
Today's been boring, to an extent.

I've alternated between around five games:

I started off with Super Mario Galaxy, now playing through Luigi's scenario. I've gotten to around 40 stars, so I'm around 1/4 of the way through completing it.
One thing is certain though, it's a lot easier the second time through. I've done the Rolling Gizmo trial galaxy without even losing a single life - with Mario, I'd fallen off the edges a few times.
And of course there was the matter of Bouldergeist's Dardevil Run - I did that in about four attempts, when it took me countless hours the first time. How odd.

I then grew bored of it and switched to playing on my Playstation.
I finished off Asterix - which took me longer than I'd expected. Some of the levels are even more of a cunt than the hardest platformer games. Asterix is a strategy/platformer crossover - it's reasonable, but very frustrating.
I'd also like to shamelessly admit that I completed it on EASY. I shall never be able to complete it on anything higher - the Roman invaders re-claiming all of my captured territories was too aggravating to bear on easy, and that's only when they do about 2 attacks a turn, with shitty AI.

Following this, I finished off Army Men: Sarge's Heroes.
All I can say is that the final mission looks like a pile of piss, but one wrong move and you either get kaned by the soldiers with bazookas, blown to bits by an airstrike, eaten by the poodle or burned by the robots.
Fucking ridiculous. Video games have taken a serious decline in difficulty since the 90s with the N64 and the PS1. Some of the games are beyond a joke. :)

Which leads me nicely to game number four.
ODDWORLD: ABE'S ODDYSEE.

Really, what the hell. :)
No difficulty setting - so there's no room for adventure/platformer beginners here.
Infinite lives yes - but I think if there wasn't, there would have been a 350% increase in smashed consoles and TV screens. Limited lives would render this game impossible, almost.

I know I'm going to get the bad ending - I don't know where all the secret Mudokons are - and even then, I couldn't save some of the ones I did find. Ridiculous puzzles - one wrong move and you or they end up burned, electrocuted, blown into bloody chunks, eaten, blown up, smashed by falling meat, shot, crushed or generally mutilated. :)

For a PS1 game, it's surprisingly gory. The graphics are pretty good too. I was impressed when I started playing it again - forgetting how good they were.
I honestly don't think I'll EVER complete this - but we'll just have to see... Not that I'm holding much hope in myself.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I finished off the night with an hour of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - collecting another drop of myhrr to bring my save onto the fourth year. Then I re-did one of the earlier dungeons.
I'm trying to see if I can collect all of the artifacts - which means re-doing some of them.

I was thinking as I played it - wow, I haven't played this since I was staying at nana's.
That was like March.

Jamie decided to be a prick on Facebook - writing shit on my wall.
He said I was shit at games - so I replied with I'd like to see him beat me at Brawl.
Then of course he has to be a cocky cunt and then insult the game I challenged him to - saying it's a button basher with no skill involved.
It SO isn't. He clearly doesn't play games before insulting them.

So I said his arguments were biased, ignorant and clearly pulled out of his own arse.
Then he said that I hadn't changed, it's still too easy to annoy me. So I deleted his post and blocked him on MSN - he can fuck off for the moment, he's a total prick.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I finally succumed to the appeal of playing new games that I've had for months upon end and never even put into a game system. Taken off their wrapping, yes - but never put into a system.

So I played Pokémon Ranger: Shadows Of Almia.
I wasn't sure on what to expect from it - but from what I've played so far, it seems okay. :)

New Jeans, Finally!

I hate clothes shopping with my mam.
Today I got taken to Matalan with her and nana.
Mam was going there so nana could pick some clothes that she wanted mam to buy for her 69th birthday tomorrow.

I had to go because mam was buying me some new jeans and a blouse to wear for nana's anniversary party on Friday.
It took bloody ages to find the right jeans though - they all seemed to be skinny leg fit or a size too small.
We did find some eventually - and oddly enough, they're the perfect length - they don't even need to be taken up.

After we'd taken nana home - I went to ASDA with mam to buy her a present myself.
I got her a pair of pink pyjamas and a box of chocolates.
And while we were there, mam decided she'd buy me another pair of black jeans. Easier to find, but these ones need to be taken up, as they're standard leg length.
Damn my shortness.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And as I suspected I would - I completed Croc tonight. :)
Last night I'd stayed awake all night playing Final Fantasy VII - and I ended up falling asleep at 7 in the morning.
I can't face that game for a while - I was dizzy and numb all day, feeling like I was going to be sick a lot.
But that could be because I didn't eat much today either.

I knew Final Fantasy VII wouldn't let me go without another epic all-nighter.
Awww, I don't want to complete it... It's my baby. :(

Croc & Crosswords

Today's been pretty good. Mam finished work at six today, so I stayed at nana's until then.
The best part of Sunday's roast lunch was the potatoes - really creamy. :)

The premier league is going on currently, so naturally grandad is glued to his armchair, watching all the matches that broadcast.
This renders nana retreating into the front bedroom to do jigsaws or puzzle books.

Today she'd opted for puzzle books, so we went into the front bedroom together - she sat at the desk and I laid on the bed.
I was playing an alternating mixture of Final Fantasy VII, Army Men: Sarge's Heroes and Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos.

I got oddly addicted to Croc - and after playing a few levels, I realised that it wasn't as difficult as I previously thought. Yes, compared to the platforming counterparts like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot - it's a lot tougher, but I've played harder games.

I'd brought along Lisa and the docking station too - so we had some music.
I mainly stuck with the NEW PLAYLIST - and I discovered that nana quite likes Blackmore's Night. That's not a surprise - they seem like the sort of thing she'd like. :)

This, oddly enough - helped us complete one of the crosswords.
One of the clues was about sailors rebelling against their captain, and the word seemed to have left us both. Instantly, I thought about Alestorm - Captain Morgan's Revenge is a song about that very subject.

"There whispered murmurs of a bloody mutiny!" - the second or third line of the song, and I was like "LOL, MUTINITY!"
Lisa seemed to have saved the crossword from driving us to the point of insanity.

Many hilarities came from the other puzzles we tried.
One was similar to a crossword, but instead of clues, you were given three words and you had to find the words that linked them together.

One was 'line, bed and horse' - I thought of washing line - but when I said that, we were just like: "LOL, WASHING HORSE."

Tea was pretty epic too - polony sausage, as always - I ate most of it.
Crackers and cheese and chocolate muffins - they were so soft and sweet. :)

I'm guessing that Croc's completion shall be my next Backloggery update.
I shall have to get working on it...

Final Fantasy & Fairy Cakes

Mam and dad went to the Redcar Races today, so I was staying at nana's for most of the day.
From around 11 till about 6.

I ate lunch with them, then sat with nana and watched TV for a while. Grandad was then watching the football, so nana and I were listening to 8 Out Of 10 Cats podcasts on my iPod.
Lisa can provide endless hours of entertainment. :)

We baked cakes together for tea - I asked if we could make butterfly cakes, so we weighed everything out, mixed it together and baked it - nana and I took turns at whisking, I mixed up the eggs and she spooned it out into the baking trays.
Then I sprinkled some chocolate chips on the top afterwards and nana let me eat the ones that were left - and I licked the bowl .:D

Making cakes from scratch is proper mint - they always turn out pretty well.
Nana made sausage rolls as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After this, we went into the front bedroom - nana started work on a new jigsaw - a rather strange one, as it's circular, as opposed to the traditional square or rectangle ones. The pieces are a weird shape too.
This one follows the old time sort of theme, it's an Edwardian chimney-sweep walking along a street.

I set up my Playstation and I had a quick go of Harvest Moon: Back To Nature, finished off a few days in Summer - there's only about one or two left until it's Autumn.
Oddly though, I quickly tired of it, so I switched to Final Fantasy VII instead.

The only two characters left to get up to level 99 now are Vincent and Red XIII - the two who I use the least.

In order, it probably goes (ignoring Cloud, as he HAS to be there... And ignoring Aeris, because she'd dead...) - Cait Sith, Tifa, Yuffie, Cid, Barret, Red XIII, Vincent.

I can't stand Vincent, he's so fucking useless.
The only reason he got like the leading role in Dirge Of Cerberus is because he's emo-looking, and that makes all the fangirls orgasm.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tea was pretty epic as always - nana made ham and cheese sarnies - and we ate the sausage rolls and butterfly cakes we'd made. And of course - there was the almighty Polony sausage. It's so fucking legend - I usually end up eating practically the whole thing. :)

Mam and dad came for me at about 6 - and mam had bought me a tube of gormet jelly beans.
Sigh, I don't like the shitty English rip-offs half as much as I like the American imports.
There's a major difference in price like.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Back at home, I got the idea to make an AMV-style video - using clips from Final Fantasy VII's battles and cutscenes. I planned to put them together with Precious Jerusalem by Blind Guardian.
But of course - there has to be a fuck-up involved.
I ripped all the videos I wanted from YouTube - downloaded the codecs I needed - but when I went to cut sections out from the clips, I lost all the video and all that was left was the sound.

This fucking happened before - so I'm going to have to save them all as .movs or .mp4s and then convert them back to .avis.
Either that, or save them as .wmvs - but that means losing a shitload of the quality.

GAH...

BITCH STOLE MAH SHOVEL!

I've really jumped from one game to another today.
I spent a while sorting out my Farmville - after I expanded to a bigger farm, I deleted a row of fields and moved all my animals to the north. It looks pretty cool now.

I spent a while playing on Final Fantasy VII - and I got sexy Cait Sith up to LEVEL 99. :D
It won't be long until Cloud and Tifa join him.

Then I have the tedious task of getting the other members up too - they're all on like like level 78... Cloud and Tifa are on 98 and 96, respectivley.

I got the master magic and master command materia too.
I'm going to see if you can blend materia more than once.
I'll try for another master magic or command crystal - and it if it works, I could end up with one for each character. :D

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Taylor came to my town on Animal Crossing: Wild World today.
I asked her if she'd help me to upgrade Nook's shop - so she went and bought something, then kept hitting my character with her axe.
So I kept making my character cry with the emotion icons.

I shouldn't have left my golden shovel infront of my house.
Okay, it was hacked, I don't mind that much - I'd be fuming if I got it legally.

TAYLOR STOLE IT.

I'd even given her a few bags of 99,000 bells and bitch stole my golden shovel!
Grrrrrrrrrrr...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And I've started a new save on Pokémon Diamond.
Taylor was begging me to - she wants me to see if I can get her a Japanese Ditto.
It'll be a while till I get to the National Dex stage, but I'll try it for her.

I need to replay Diamond anyway.
And if people are unreasonable on the GTS...
I have an Action Replay.
I'll trade them BADLY HACKED MEWS.
Their nickname will be COCKFACE.

I hacked a Grotle for someone who was offering a level 7 fucking Onix.
I nicknamed it TWAT.
That'll teach them for being unreasonable.

Mwah ha ha.
When hacks are used for good causes, everyone wins. :D
