I used to work for Boeing - Space Station division in Houston, TX.  While we (USA) worked with other countries to get the Space Station launched and built, we would always have foreigners in the building.  They were always very friendly.

I met a Russian guy (and we had another Russian guy that worked directly for Boeing - but that's another story) named Efgeny (or something like that).  He worked for a company called Energia and he gave me the blue pin in the upper left hand corner.

The middle two (upper and lower) was when we launched node 2A of the Space Station.

In 1999, we got the Apollo pin (lower right).  Above that one is the back of it.  It was the celebration of 30 years.

I left the company in 2000 after getting married and moved to NJ.  I can only imagine what they gave out since.
 
One of my friends, Stephanie Wilson will be flying the next Shuttle mission REAL SOON.

Yes, she was the one caught up (slightly) in that whole Texas - Florida NASA thang.  She flew with that crazy woman, but managed (good for her!) to stay out of the news.

Although I haven't managed to talk to her since 2000, she is still in contact with my son and his mom back in Houston.

They're out to get me, I swear it.

Who did I piss off this time?

Freaking weather gods.

All I asked for was a little snow. How much can that hurt, I ask you.

But noooooo. No snow.

Just books falling off the shelf and onto my head whenever I walk by - and this place has a heck of a lot of bookshelves.

Just pins shoving themselves up under my nails. Dumb dress had too many pins, I tell you.

So its a week since I crossed over from the shorties, always with a short hairstyle and never really doing much with it, to the longies.  ok ok my hairs not long, of course its not, but theres just something about possessing a bunch of elastics and some pins that I know I have the hair for if I want to.  I spent Saturday with 2 cute little tiny piggie tails in plus about 10 bobby pins.  Of course i don't go out like this but, well, it was cool just having the option.  And looking in Claire's on Sunday with my hair in a ponytail made me feel, like, legit.  Weird I know.  But I have had short hair for ever so why not?

so...9 days and kounting...eep...Im getting old

 

I got my BB bill today...joy...Im aktually glad I didnt get K his bday prezzie from BB last Friday koz I wouldnt have been able to anyway koz apparently Im over my limit which is weird koz I paid some of it off...but whatever...need to go pay it sometime this week along with my Visa and give Mich the money fer my cell...maybe I kan see if I kan get a deal on that phone I want koz whenever someones got a bday they're always giving you some sort of special...I dunno...we'll see...if not then I'll just buy it as my prezent to myself

 

got laundry done...well most of it anyway...just waiting fer the load in the dryer to finish drying...also kleaned out Bades kage...I was too lazy to vakum my room so Im gonna do it tomorrow

 

blah...I dunno what to do now...Mich is done at 6 and I dunno if we're going out or if we're going to the salon...I think we're going shopping koz she said she wanted to go to Old Navy which is fine by me koz I kan maybe buy another pair of shorts and a tshirt or 2 and maybe some new summer klothes fer Mo not that summers anywhere near being klose to arriving...damm weather

 

yesterday I bought some Atreyu pins off eBay WOOOOOOOOO I kant wait till those get here koz they're SO going on my backpack...I need more tho...just dunno of what
