The Picture is my dad showing off his Chainsaw skills (or lack there of). I spent most of the day yesterday helping him clean up a tree that had fallen into his back yard during last weeks tornado. It may look like a mess in this picture my believe me it was much worse when we started. We got about half the tree cut down before my dad broke the chainsaw. Our original plan was to each work a chain saw on opposite sides of the tree, but one of the saws wouldn't start and the other one broke. So I took an ax to some of the smaller branches, cleaned up the back yard a little, and called it a day. My dad and I were both wore, in pain, and tired. The rest of the night I just sat on the porch drinking a few beers with my folks and then had dinner with them. Oh yeah, and I got a nasty sunburn on my neck (insert redneck joke here).
On Friday night I went to the city's chili cook off. It's five bucks all you can eat chili from like sixty different places in town, and all the money goes to charity. I voted for the IBEW's chili because my cousin is in that union but I thought the local Radison's was the best chili. I later found out via Facebook that my friend Sarah showed up at around the same time I was leaving. Hmm, shoulda stayed a little later. And I also stopped and said hello to my old boss from when i worked at MSU.
It's been a pretty full weekend. So, today I'm relaxing
