Weekend update.

Lib and I had a ton of fun at HersheyPark on Saturday.

We saw the new Fahrenheit coaster, with its 97-degree first drop. Have to admit, it kinda scared me.

We saw some native North American wildlife.

We laughed at a poncho-covered lifeguard at the Boardwalk.

We rode the Ferris Wheel to get some birds-eye-view photos of the Park. See the big Tidal Force wave?

We rode the Monorail (as is tradition) for more photo opportunities.

And then we ended the day with a stop at Sonic on the way home (the second Sonic stop of the day - a personal record!).

On Sunday we bummed around the apartment for a bit, and then caught an afternoon showing of Wanted, which I loved. Well, except for the part where Angelina and James totally destroy a sexy Dodge Viper. :*(

And now I'm back at work for another fun-filled week. I've already downed a large cup of coffee but all it's done for me so far is make me have to pee. Where's my caffeine rush?! Though there are two things to look forward to this week: lldangerous's return on Thursday, and The Dark Knight theater bum-rush on Friday. Woo!

ETA: There's a woman at work who, every time she sees me, calls me "Skinny." I love her and want to shrink her down and carry her in my pocket everywhere. =D

The devil in me...
Last weekend we went to Devil's Lake for a picnic that Leif's work held. They served PRIMO food and had events for the kids and grown ups alike. (All for free)

They had rock climbing & bungee jumping (not off cliffs but like a trampoline). A blow up castle to jump in for the kids and all sorts of fun things.

We found a nice shady spot under a tree and ate the good food. You had your choice of lobster, steak, steak & lobster, vegetarian or a kids meal. I read on my comfy little blanket and relaxed!

Savannah chilled out in the lake while eating an ice-pop. There were so many minnows in the water. (It's hard to see but they are in the video) There must of been millions.

What an enjoyable day. We didn't even get to walk the trails but it was still fun. Carpe Diem!

Each day!

HI there, hope your weekend was fabulous. Ours was busy.. Saturday I worked, I had 3 clients, the 4rth no showed. The fight Sat night.. that wasnt fun..but I guess it needed to happen.  We both apologized to one another...but for some reason make up sex didnt become part of the equation, lol!

Sunday we went to church, went shopping for some beachy foods and took a couple out on the lake and found a beach off on the north side of the lake. Which WAS so oooo much quieter ..not as much boat traffic at all... we normally are on the south side of the lake.  It was a nice nice day!

When I got home, I had scheduled myself to work the phone WAH for an hour, and my voice was raspy the whole time.. I thought.. oh maybe too much fun in the sun. This morning I was scheduled for 1/2 hour and now my voice is even raspier and just a tad sore in the back of my throat. Not overly.  It sounds like I am losing my voice Strange, I have never had laryngytus but that is what this sounds like to me. So.. going out to make some tea with honey or ginger and hope that soothes it. I wont work any calls today, but I do have 3 clients scheduled starting at noon.

Beyond the limits of time

No matter what you do, you cannot change the number of hours in the day. Yet you have an enormous impact over what goes into those hours, and what comes from them.

Fill the hours with purpose, and the passing of time works in your favor. Fill your days with meaning, with creativity, with goodness, joy and love, and each day leaves behind lasting value for your world.

Does it seem that there's never enough time to get it all done? Align your efforts more closely with your true purpose, and you'll find that those efforts quickly become much more effective.

Or does it feel like time is passing too slowly? Choose to put more meaning in each moment, and those moments will move quickly along.

Let go of your concerns about the speed at which time is passing, for time is nothing more than an arbitrary measure. What matters is what you do with each moment now as you live it.

Take your eyes off the clock and look instead toward your highest vision of what life can be. Fill the world with your own unique beauty, and go beyond the limits of time.

A Picnic & A Juggler In The Park

Today was a nice day to picnic in Prospect Park because it was cooler there with all the trees, and most of the folks from the weekend went home.  We had a nice picnic of turkey, tomato on bagel sandwiches with lemonade, our favorite.   There weren't as many people in the park, but we watched a juggler on a unicycle.  He was obviously very experienced as we watched him go around the bike path through the park.  Very skilled.  We decided to come back soon with our camera to get some good photographs.  We had a good, long relaxing talk.  My husband said I should wear a bib like Richard Nixon did because I keep getting yogurt splattered on my blouse and tomatoes fall off my sandwich onto my shirt.  Well, I have to go get the spots out now.  I'll have to lean forward a little when I next eat lunch out on the benches.

Here's to sitting down and standing up
Meeting:  Principal, Middle School Dean, School Discipline Dean, Me, Cyclone

Paperwork:  Form filled out in triplicate about my son's alleged weapon comment.

Minutes:  We all sat down, introduced ourselves, and we were informed that none of the school administrators were actually present on campus for the alleged incident.  So they heard the investigative report from the lady who was in charge that day. It amounted to, "She said she heard that HE said who heard it from Another Guy who heard it from....  That Cyclone was going to bring a gun to school."

"We had some scared kids, here, Friday," the principal informed  me.

I nodded to Cyclone and asked him to tell his side of the story.

With a smile (he has adorable dimples) and a bit of dramatic flair (he is, after all, my son) he said, "Okay. What happened was [that guy] was in the room and I pointed my finger like this [six-year-old gun imitation] and asked, 'Have you ever been hit by a tranquilizer dart?'"

The three school officials looked kerflummoxed.  "Oh.  Well. Whew," the principal said.  "That's all good, then."

I then informed them of the discussion Spousal Unit and I had with Cyclone about the advisability of keeping such terms at home only, and they said, "Good."

Poof. End of story.

=====

Picnic:  Parking cost $1 and hour. Metered.  Silly and expensive.  I had to pick up lunch (none of my "mom" stuff is portable for a picnic, so I had enough time after the above meeting to hit the deli at Albertson's Market) and chocolate milk for Cartoon  Ranger and then... oops? I didn't have anything to keep the drinks cold! So I picked up an igloo (R) insulated thingie for $6.99 (cheapest option).

The park was one I had never been to, before, so that was cool. Beautiful scenery. The day was perfect -- low eighties,  light breezes, sunshine -- and we had a great time.  I spent most of it on my feet, but it's all good.

Cartoon Ranger is graduating to Kindergarten, so he got a yellow cap and tassle. :)  We rode a little train around the park ($4) and that inspired the rest of his class to do likewise.

At the end of the day, we came home and I am going to put my feet up.

It's been a good day.

I still like Mondays. :)
