Photo Shoot @ MindSay
Sorry, no official Gwensday post - I was so tired, I couldn't type for more than 10 minutes without dozing off.
Dozing off on the bus just to see us pass my stop :|
Dozing off at the kitchen table to be awakened by the smoke alarm :| :|
Dozing off at the laundry mat to find some creepy dude digging through the garbage and looking back at me (!!!) You get it, I was sleepy...
Subject change:
Saturday morning I drove to Chicago with my friend Angie for a photo shoot. We get there, we shoot, we eat, we head to the hotel to rest....well, we were supposed to. She calls her guy friend who lives there and we end up going over there to watch movies ( read: Gwen is STARVING, trying not to notice Angie and her guy friend making out on the couch across from her). We watched 'The Happening' (EW!! M. Night, you freak!) and 'Wanted' (Eh.) Still starving...mind you.
Then his roomate comes home, and holy spit on a stick g'lawd he was fine! But shorter than I (I have this thing about short dudes - childhood scars..lol j/k), as I noticed when I got up to go to the rest room. Long story short, they all decide they want to go to the club, so there we are, all made up from the photoshoot, no shower, no food, no nothin, and she was down to go! :|:|:|
Well - hunger, common sense, vanity, and did I mention hunger (?)...brought forth "Gee", my hood alter ego. I straight snapped. I told her she could go, but I need to eat, change, wash, etc. So I took her keys out of her hand and waltz out the door, got in HER car (:)) and proceeded to give her 60 seconds to get in with me. Well, his roomate came out, offered to take me to the hotel to do my thing and he would take me to the club afterwards. Yeah, right...
So they ended up following us to the hotel instead and I raided the vending machine and cuffed a lunch box off the stack of lunches that were outside of a conference room on my way to the room, which was delish...hope they had enough :\
Wha - desperate times call for desperate measures...
My friend did her thing right away and ran back out to keep her 'Piece du Jour' company :| I get ready and come out to the lot and there's the roommate again, waiting for me in his car, my friend and her guy - gone. I roll my eyes and get in the car, saying a silent prayer that he doesn't do anything fatal (they drive like maniacs even in residential areas) and I text my friend to ask her where the blankety blank blank stank is she? She's at the club.
Apparently these guys are promoters and we got in through the VIP line free of charge and into the club's VIP section where Nas was chillin...we drank for free all night and partied until almost 4am. I reluctantly had a good time..
So, that was my Saturday in the Chi...next weekend...MADISON, WI! (Woo)
Figured I'd post something, since I said I would like, several weeks ago. =P
This lizard was a great photo subject. He really hammed it up for the camera. ^_^
Just chillin'.
"What are you lookin' at?"
"Make sure you get my good side."
"What did you just call me?"
"Hmmm...."
"Hey! Up here!"
"I'm ready for my close-up."
And this shot is so awesome, it doesn't even need a witty caption. :p
Hooray for lizards!!! ^_^

P.S.--No, the lizards in the last photo are NOT having sex. One was just kinda laying there, and the other one proceeded to walk right over him/her. =P
Crazy week!
Wednesday I had my photo shoot at the agency (finally). Even though I had a fever and was so tired I couldn't see straight half the time, I felt good enough to go, so I did. I figured it was probably stress induced and that I would feel better as the day went on...which I did, thank God. It was a neat experience, despite not feeling my best. It took a couple of hours (which I expected) because of getting my hair and make-up done, plus picking out my two outfits for the two different looks I was to have. I had to bring my own clothes, because if I wanted "wardrobe styling" (meaning people finding and bringing me clothes to wear), I would have had to tell the agency a week ahead of time, and pay them an extra hundred dollars for it. I probably would have done it if I had known this far enough ahead of time, but I'm glad that I didn't. My own clothes worked out just fine. So anyways, my hair and make-up stylist was around my age and she is currently fast-tracking through a program at Sheridan College. She said she was co-oping at the agency for a while, and then they offered her a job. She said it's hard to balance that job with school, but she's managing pretty well. For the first set of pictures, she put my hair in curls and gave me a natural-looking make-up job. That may sound kind of ironic, but it wasn't nearly as dark as my second make-up job was. With the second one she straightened my hair...but the straightener she used, was nowhere near as good as my own! I love my "Chi"! It's sooo amazing! So my stylist was really cool, and the photographer was pretty cool too...although slightly weird...but I guess that jobs with the territory of being a photographer. She had an interesting accent which my dad thinks might have been Yugoslavian. Anyways, she's very good at what she does and I have a lot of confidence that my pictures will be awesome.
So that was Wednesday. Now...yesterday...relatives from Germany arrived that I haven't seen since I was twelve. We have an awful lot of relatives coming down from all over the place, all because this Saturday (tomorrow) is my Oma's 90th birthday extravaganza. I would just call it a "party", but considering how many people are coming and where they're coming from, the word "party" is pretty inaccurate. It's a freakin' festival people! We have people coming from Germany (as I already said), Ohio, Washington, Windsor, Barrie...and probably more places that I'm missing right now.
And that's tomorrow...but tonight...tonight is going to rock. Tonight...I get to see...the Arrogant Worms live in concert at Lighthouse! YAY! :D I'm going with Lindsay and Barbara and it's going to be such a blast. Don't get me wrong, tomorrow is going to kick some serious ass too, but it's farther away than tonight and I can only handle one exciting thing at a time. :)
Alright everybody. I hope you all have an awesome weekend, but I should probably get moving considering that I have company to spend time with right now.
Have a good one!
Well i got bored...found some make up...and hairspray...and my old boots. Enjoy.
Ewww. There's something in my shoe.
