OK, I'm not really an expert at anything.
But I did predict a Rays/Phillies World Series. And - The Tampa Bay Rays will win in exactly 6 games.
Boston tried to make a liar out of me...
The series starts tomorrow, I'm ready. It'll probably get low ratings nationally but that's just because people are stupid.

I'm getting results from my bone scan on Thursday. Hopefully its just a slipped disk or something and not a major medical issue. And since you fuckers don't know me, I have a bad back.

Houston's major newspaper, the Chronicle endorsed Obama. Kinda makes you wonder why a newspaper is taking sides in the election. News outlet are supposed to be neutral, right? They been quite partial for awhile now.

This past weekend the City of Philadelphia lost another policeman to senseless violence ( 3dead over the last 2 years). This all on the heels of the State Supreme Court overturning another city legislative attempt to get the horse back into the barn. I am at a loss to grasp what it will take to shock or traumatize a state into understanding the absurdity of defending the ownership of assualt type weapons, flimsy backgroud checks and seemilgly non-existent limits to the numbers of weapons you can purchase and/or own.

I am NOT looking to ban gun ownership in any way. I think accountability is not alot to ask. More stringent background checks and "cooling off" periods........limits to numbers purchased at one time..........registration/training and responsibility to report the weapons loss with strict penalties.

The deaths of law enforcement personnel has not even cracked the lobby in Harrisburg. I cannot imagine what it will take.......what tragedy and of what proportions will cause the politicians to take notice. Something is going to have to hit very close to home.

My dad was a sports fan, not the modern day internet Sports center type fan I am. No my Dad was a read the morning and evening newspapers watch the news get the Morning telegraph to see how the horses were running meat and potatoes sports fan. Phillies in the summer, Sixers in the winter, Eagles in the fall. My Dad taught me to be a Homer to love and respect where you came from and who you were. Sports had no color or creed, it was effort and hard work and fun and the chance to show the world who you were. Today’s mega contracts and egos were not as big a part of his sports world and he knew that no matter how many autographs he brought me none was as impressive as the awards with his name embossed across them. In my introduction to the sporting world he took me to see the Sixers play at Convention Hall, the Phillies at Connie Mack, the Eagles at Franklin Field, as a field trip every summer we would see the Eagles play an exhibition game in Hershey Pa. No jumbotrons, no dance teams, no sports center highlights just memories burned into my heart and spirit. I don't t think my Dad would have Blogged his ideas and expressions had to be delivered face to face and reinforced with a handshake or a look of disapproval. My Dad taught me the players were no more special than the common guy that earned a living and despite the odds put food on the table and could be trusted on his word, signing a contract and wanting to renegotiate and get out of it before the ink was dry would have turned his stomach. I thank him for teaching how to look the ball in, to work harder than the next guy, for breaking my baseball glove in and not killing me when I lost it. My Dad told me to see as many games in as many places as I could and go to the Super Bowl (he was at Super Bowl 1) never bet over your means and always pay your debts. My Dad died watching the ponies run at now departed Garden State Race Track I think he had a hand full of winners and the shock killed him, but he went out doing something he loved. On this Fathers day I thank him for all the lessons learned the love he gave and for giving me sports.

Yea I totally forgot about what number this is. So we'll say three. Some things I forgot to tell you about this vacation....well I started that memory book, and one page is totally dedicated to reasons why New Jersey sucks. Theres a page of "who we saw on the boardwalk." and a bunch of other cool pages. When I get the table of contents filled up, I'll let you know.

One day me and Donna went to the zoo. It was awesome, especially on the way when Donna didn't turn onto Zoo Road, and we went on this odd street finding odd signs that jersey has up because their idiots. Like this one that had a sign for a right turn, but below it, it had a question mark, as if the sign was saying. "Make a right turn?" See, Even Jersey doesn't know how to get you unlost, they want you there forever.

 

We went boogie boarding the other day, good times.

 

So I tried to buy a $1.99 bucket in Stone Harbor, bad idea. Apparently it was $7.99 for a cheap ass bucket. Stupid Stone Harbor. *insert shoulder pain*. Work sucked. Anyway, so I told Sal about it, and his response was "You were gonna buy a bucket? How corny!!!" Then I caught him playing Miss Mary Mack in the kitchen with Ahmed...And I'm the corny one?!

 

Work is amazing, apart from it being tough, but that's life. The people are amazing and it's just the coolest experience to work on the boardwalk and mock everyone that walks by because they're to exposed.

 

*sings* Pound my knuckles hard against the floor, my head against the wall, and I did this to myself. Assume it's just not worth getting back up. So I'll blame it on bad luck, and shake responsibility and say a hard life did this to me.

 

Back to blogging, anyway. So I love Bayside. Yes..I love bayside. My new 2nd favorite band. Okay, I know I had more to write about, like the pride parade and such, but I don't feel like it. I went to gay pride in philly. I loved it. It was homo. and it was amazing. Okay? Bye!!
