Phil Collins @ MindSay

what what
I got nothing, because I sat down and watched TV and now my brain is officially off duty.  This happens whenever I watch or listen to sports, or talk radio, I just kind of zone out.  This is probably a sign that I should do less of these activities.  Put that on the "to do" list.  I should go lay down, sleep would definitely be welcome at this time.  I think I'm ready for the warm to just be here.  It is nice to get moving around in the sun and get the sweat going.  So yeah, I'm looking forward to that.  This may or may not also be because I don't have a jacket that I really like at this point in time, which makes windy, coldish days a tad unbearable.  I was just listening to Phil Collins advice though; No Jacket Required.

I hate guilty pleasures
Let me set this straight.  I hate guilty pleasures, as you can clearly see by my subject line.  Actually, I don't hate the things that people are ashamed of liking, I hate the fact that people think certain things are shameful to like.  I have to disagree with the concept because of the fact that it is completely subjective.  You can't quantify to any degree how cheesy something is, or what it ranks on a scale of guilty pleasures.  So here it is.

I like a lot of what people call bad movies, and I don't make any secret of that fact.  For example, I love the movie Jersey Girl.  Is this an academy award winning movie? No.  But I like the story, I like the actors.  I have a soft spot for Ben Affleck for some reason.  I just buy into him, he seems genuine.  I also like Kevin Smith and George carlin, they are both fairly talented guys.  The little girl who plays Gertie is adorable, and at certain points in the movie, I cry.  Yeah, like a baby.  Movies tend to usually evoke the emotions that directors want emoted from me.  But I'm sure there are plenty of people who thought the movie was garbage, in particular the 15-19 year old Kevin Smith fans who did not get their fill of fart and penis jokes.  I find it odd that some people feel they should be ashamed to listen to 1980's music or watch "cheesy" movies, or at least to admit it. Why like it in the first place if you blush when people find out.  Guess what?  Journey made some fucking hits in the 80's.  Phil Collins, when not shaking his head listening to Republican Handjob, was busy rocking out and telling it like it is. And somehow this should be kept secret, lest people think you aren't a hipster.  So I'll rock out to YES, because Owner of a Lonely Heart is on channel 622, the 80's music station, and I'll tell you from the top of a mountain, and there will be people playing flutes, and you won't be invited!

Lauren wanted me to shout her and Lindsay out because they figured out I was blogging.  They are both separately playing on a pink Nintendo DS.  Yes two of them.  So shout out to them.  This is for him: "In your face!"  Yeah I taight him to say that.  15 months old people, he's off the charts.

"So save your prayers
For when your really gonna need 'em..."

It cool, it's crazy cool, it's the Flavour of the Week, bay-bee...

And so we have begun another journey into the realm of all that is flavourful and groovilicious. And we shall begin this edition much as we always do with a subject that we wish to discuss. And this week's topic is much like the past few weeks in the fact that I do not have a topic to type about for the seasons are in the midst of changing and soon the first snows will fall and the world will be buried beneath a layer of frosting much like the world's largest cake...

And cake is good food though the earth in cake form is not a good thing. And I shall sit in the office and ponder cake and winter and I shall not get any work done, but being I am supreme ruler of this enterprise, I actually do not have to do any work for I can just sit here and tell all the peons to do the work for me and this is called delegating authority, but is commonly called passing the buck in this here part of the country and no one passes the buck faster than I for I am fast in such matters...

And now it is time to get down to business...

Wanna go for a ride?"

Strangers Like Me
Whatever you do, I'll do it too
Show me everything and tell me how
It all means something, and yet nothing to me

Oh, I can see there's so much to learn
It's all so close and yet so far
I see myself as people see me
Oh I just know there's something bigger out there

I wanna know
Can you show me?
I wanna know about these strangers like me
Tell me more
Please show me
Something's familiar 'bout these strangers like me

Every gesture, every move that she makes
Makes me feel like never before
Why do I have this growing need to be beside her?

Ooh, these emotions I never knew
Of some other world far beyond this place
Beyond the trees, above the clouds
Oh, I see before me a new horizon

I wanna know
Can you show me?
I wanna know about these strangers like me
Tell me more
Please show me
Something's familiar 'bout these strangers like me

Come with me now to see my world
Where there's beauty beyond your glimpse
Can you feel the things I feel
Right now
With you?
Take my hand
There's a world I need to know

I wanna know
Can you show me?
I wanna know about these strangers like me
I wanna know
Please show me
Something's familiar 'bout these strangers like me

I wanna know

Netflix

Do not read this if you are offended by foul language.  I was pissed off so you are warned...

So I have this membership to Netflix right?  I have seen a ton of movies using it so now I am on this concert dvd kick lately.  I have rented Judas Priest, Shakira and one of the Live 8 concerts.  Judas Priest was a great concert video.  Playing some favorites.  The only reason I rented Live 8 was to see U2 but while watching it, Green Day, which I am now glad I never bought a cd of theirs, is calling Americans faggots and idiots during their show in Berlin, really pisses me off.  Fuck green day.  Move the fuck out of America and move to Berlin.  Do not cuss us like that in some other country.  They would not get away with that down here.  Bunch of pussy's.

Anyways, the Shakira dvd is just plain great!  I wished she would come to these parts because I would pay good money to see her perform.  Not only can she sing, she can so perform!  And she is hot to boot!  Even if I cannot understand half of what she is singing since half of her songs are in spanish.

I have some U2 dvd's coming allong with KISS, Incubus, Journey, Queensryche,  Phil Collins and Rush.  This is just a few!  It all sounds good on the surround sound.  I heard that Phil Collins puts on a great show.  So now I am waiting to get the rest of my queue once I send these back.  I wonder which group is putting on a good show these days?
