Closing my eyes the sound of the wind through the trees reminds me of the river.
Its comforting. Soothing.
June 3rd.
Counting the days to the river.
Pop a beer ..... stroll outside. Take in the smells and sounds of the summer showers.
Breathe in. Exhale.
Tadpoles. Lots of tadpoles. Chocolate mint emitting its faint pleasant smell from around the pond.
The plum tree ..... loaded with tiny plums ..... the birds and I waiting anxiously for the sweet flavor.
Llamas chewing their hay ..... the chickens scratching nearby.
Petey at my heels. Lola and Joe lag behind. Elvis crows his approval at our passing.
A faint "meow" in the distance ..... Lola's tail wags ..... its Chevy running as fast as her little feet will allow ...... her girl is outside! ..... Lola and Chevy greet each other warmly as old friends do.
The sound of the shovel as Dave digs at the end of the house. Another project almost completed.
Chilly spring evening upon us. More rain possible. Dark clouds to the West. Pack a bowl head outside to see my man. Feed the dogs then dinner prep for us.
Another day passes ...... another day gone ...... tomorrow stands to be busy.

Where Exactly Are They Going?
While out hiking yesterday and today several vehicles passed me with kayaks .....
Curiosity has gotten the best of me ..... leaving Petey home tomorrow, wearing my hip canteen, and I'm gonna find me some kayakers.
I seriously am curious where they are going with the kayaks. Of course attached to these kayaks are some beautiful male sun baked bodies ..... that is a bonus for sure. They have been smiling big and waving as they slow to pass Petey and I on the road to help keep dust to a minimum, they are courteous too.
But mainly where are they going ..... ? Hummmm ...... the need to know is taking over.
So much going on in my backyard that I am not even aware of. Time I learn, don't you think?
Off to shower, then to the flower farm ..... yay .....

Somewhat Subjectless
Another Saturday gone.
The mind is fleeting in so many directions ..... and to choose a single topic right now to attempt to post about is just not in the picture.
Think I will just crawl into bed and snuggle with Petey. Who knows when Dave will find his way in from the shop. Its still chilly here ..... very.
Petey is snoring ..... and that sounds mighty inviting ..... sleep.
If the sun shines tomorrow I believe a bit of caching may be in order ..... again, its been awhile since me and Petey have had a good mom / dog day ..... we are due. So think the geo-dog will accompany me.
Sweetest of dreams to you all ...... and a wonderful Sunday too.

SUNSHINE CAME OUT TODAY .... SO DID MY SMILE ;-)
I am not all doom and gloom for a change .... hard to believe I know. 
This weekend actually was hopefully the start of some change. I won my unemployment battle after two telephone conferences I was notified that they are sending all my back pay for the last month or so. That is a huge relief. Dave was offered a job replacing a sewer line and stands to make a few thousand on that. So maybe ***fingers crossed*** just maybe things are turning for us.
I'm also getting a car .... I know what your thinking .... a car? She can barely pay her phone bill? .... and shes getting a car? Well, yeah. A older widowed lady friend of moms has two older Oldsmobile's and is wanting to sell one. Its in perfect condition ... no dents or dings .... totally clean on the inside (just need to get rid of the cigarette smell) brand new brakes (Dave just put on), new battery. And its a four speed! Its an 87 Olds Calias and she wants 500.00 for it. 80,000 miles. But for me just cruising around here it would be perfect. Then I have my little MG Midget convertible for the summer. Dave got the tranny fixed and it's ready to go in .... I'll be driving it this spring. And she loves Dave and is allowing us to make payments .... very low monthly payments. But we'll pay it off when Dave finishes this sewer job.
I have a lot to do .... orders for hats and scarves (thanks Tawni), orders for a couple bracelets and some baking to do for mom's 3 or 4 potlucks coming up. I told her I'd help. And of course she told me today she volunteered my services at next weeks Bingo .... Monday night .... because they are short handed. I didn't get angry. I'm actually proud of myself. I may get pissy between now and then but I'll deal.
Petey gets a rabies shot tomorrow. Dave goes to doctor on Wednesday (I got to keep my insurance, yes!) to get his stomach checked out ... hasn't been feeling to good lately. And I'm seriously getting myself ready for diet and exercise. I've put on so much weight its crazy. I won't fit into my MG if I keep going like this. Nor will my clothes fit .... I have one pair that is comfortable right now ... and that sucks. It really is time to get serious.
