PETER GABRIEL LYRICS
"In Your Eyes"
Love I get so lost, sometimes days pass and this emptiness fills my heart when I want to run away I drive off in my car but whichever way I go I come back to the place you are all my instincts, they return and the grand facade, so soon will burn without a noise, without my pride I reach out from the inside in your eyes the light the heat in your eyes I am complete in your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches in your eyes the resolution of all the fruitless searches in your eyes I see the light and the heat in your eyes oh, I want to be that complete I want to touch the light the heat I see in your eyes love, I don't like to see so much pain so much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away I get so tired of working so hard for our survival I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive and all my instincts, they return and the grand facade, so soon will burn without a noise, without my pride I reach out from the inside in your eyes the light the heat in your eyes I am complete in your eyes I see the doorway to a thousand churches in your eyes the resolution of all the fruitless searches in your eyes I see the light and the heat in your eyes oh, I want to be that complete I want to touch the light, the heat I see in your eyes in your eyes in your eyes in your eyes in your eyes in your eyes in your eyes

Sorry about the messyness of all the lyrics (how they are bunched together all ickily and stuff). But uhm yea,I heard the song in the movie "Say Anything" a total 80's flick BUT it's really not that good...at least that's my opinion..go and rent it,judge for yourself.
Toodles love!
(:
ok so yeah odd name for an entry...but anyways...brigette and i were talking about when we have children...and what would happen. We hope that Gabriel will be about a year older that Lillyannah...so he can protect her...but while we talked i thought of something if she is like 16 or 17 and has a slumber party and one of her friends hits on Gabriel and they do something we hav a problem. If Gabriel get the girl pregnant then here is what will happen...If one of my close friends just happens to be the father of the girl i will go to there house and punch them in the face...when they ask why i will say "because we havent talked in a while and now i am going to be related to you...." *punch in face* or if it is my daughter who gets pregnant by the guy...no matter who the guy's parents are...i will punch the guy in the face...go to his house punch his parents in the face and then go to the nursing home and punch the parents in the face again but this time in front of their parents...just for fun...i can do it...i am crazy....so yeah odd post but funny...hope you all got a laugh

p.s.: Dont mess with my kids :-)
FX's goal, of course, was to promote the show and get you to watch it. While I will admit to DVRing it when it first aired on Tuesday, I haven't watched it, yet. The urge just isn't there. However, a stronger urge did come out of those commercial breaks and I know it wasn't their intention. I became obsessed with that Peter Gabriel song. Looking at my collection, I realized I didn't have any Peter Gabriel. Looking at his catalog, I realized that I like a lot of Peter Gabriel.
So a big thank you to FX, Courtney Cox, and David Arquette for creating the show "Dirt" and then subsequently advertising it with the appropriately titled song "Digging in the Dirt". I now am the proud owner of a double-disc, Peter Gabriel collection.
Oh... and I hope your show's good.
Solsbury Hill:
I've loved this song as far back as I can remember bu it wasn't until about five years ago I found out it was by Peter Gabriel. When the song came out, in 1977, I think I was 2 years old, so I hope I can forgiven :D
The thought struck me, as I listen to this song again, that it really summarizes the salvation experience for me. I'm sure Peter G didn't mean it to be that way (apparently it is a song about his leaving Genesis) but the words totally evoke that pure moment of opening one's self to God, a moment of timelessness that many experience when coming to Christ.
Here are the lyrics, read for yourself:
"Solsbury Hill"
Climbing up on Solsbury Hill
I could see the city light
Wind was blowing, time stood still
Eagle flew out of the night
He was something to observe
Came in close, I heard a voice
Standing stretching every nerve
Had to listen had no choice
I did not believe the information
(I) just had to trust imagination
My heart going boom boom boom
"Son," he said "Grab your things,
I've come to take you home."
To keep in silence I resigned
My friends would think I was a nut
Turning water into wine
Open doors would soon be shut
So I went from day to day
Tho' my life was in a rut
"Till I thought of what I'd say
Which connection I should cut
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
(Back home.)
When illusion spin her net
I'm never where I want to be
And liberty she pirouette
When I think that I am free
Watched by empty silhouettes
Who close their eyes but still can see
No one taught them etiquette
I will show another me
Today I don't need a replacement
I'll tell them what the smile on my face meant
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" I said "You can keep my things,
they've come to take me home."
Here is the original video for the song:
And here is another version of the same song, but a very good cover by people I don't know :D :
If I could choose a song to illustrate the moment of my submission to God, this would be in the top running. After you ask God into your life, things change. Some doors close but so many others open... Things you once thought was important becomes so...minscule and not even worth thinking about...life changes and this song reflects that truth.
Wow...God is so awesome.
And this from a song that probably has nothing to do with the salvation experiance.. God shows himself in to the most suprising of places.
Isn't that last version just incredible!?
so i'll just give you some lyrics to one of my favorite songs.
it's called "the book of love" by peter gabriel
The book of love is long and boring
No one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures and instructions for dancing
But I
I love it when you read to me
And you
You can read me anything
The book of love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it is just transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb
But I
I love it when you sing to me
And you
You can sing me anything
The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know
But I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
And I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
And I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
You ought to give me wedding rings
makes me smile.... :)
