I found the software!  So here are a few pictures from Margaret's garden. The sale starts this week for the iris and peonies.

 

Visit Margaret's Garden

If you are in the Northern Va area this Saturday stop in to look at the flower garden of Margaret Thomas.  This woman must be in her late 70's or early 80's.  She has an old house sitting between two huge gardens of flowers.  She started her flower gardens in 1963 and has been maintaining them ever since.  If you stop by she will take the time to talk to you about her flowers and people are wlecome to come and look at her flowers.  I took lots of pictures of her garden last Saturday.

 

Her property is right in the middle of some very expensive subdivisions in the Reston area. Several developers have been trying to purchase her land but Margaret wants to stay right where she is at.  So this Saturday, May 17th she will have her annual sale to try to raise money to help cover the cost of her property taxes so that she can keep gardening. 

 

She has all sorts of day lillies, iris, and peonies for sale.  It would be a shame to lose Margaret's garden

I live in a townhouse with a very small shaded  square of ground city people call a yard.  I don't really miss the half acre yard I grew up with in Tennessee until I visit a friend's parents and see all of the peonies growing in their yard.  and no I did not take the pictures, my camera died so these are compliments of Jane.
