Pens @ MindSay

The good news is that the Pens are in the Stanley Cup Finals.  I get a chance to see one of "my" teams win another sports championship before I drop dead.  When the playoffs began I thought they would, at most, make it to the Conference Finals...but they're still going.

 

The bad news is that the Pens are in the Stanley Cup Finals.  I get a chance to see one of "my" teams choke, blow it, and be losers with all the rest of the losers.  Better if they'd gone home to play golf earlier; I wouldn't be as disappointed.  That's the nice thing about the Pirates--the only way they go to the playoffs is if they buy tickets.

After some requests I have finally gotten enough motivation to post some artwork.. these are some of my most recent works of.. free time. The first two are oils and the house is in pen&ink.

I've been toying wth the idea of getting a professional business card...for the blogging I do.  I know it sounds weird, but people always want to know more when they find out about how I earn my income.  When I tell peope, I make money blogging they are shocked and surprised.  That is, those that know what blogging is.  Those that don't know ask, "What's a blogger?" 

 

Anyway, school is starting soon.  Well, 4 of the kids have summer school so they haven't even finished yet.  (Ya think I'm taking their computers away???  I hate STEAM.  MySpace was a time killer too, but my sisters keep tabs on them with that.  I would never read their stuff, but my sisters have no qualms about it..LOL!)  So, I'm thinking of starting a site on my own domain.  I have about 15 blogs on different platforms.  My sister told me her boss had some Search Engine Optimization Specialists for a meeting.  She caught a glimpse of the check......unbelievable.  They got paid FOUR figures for an hour's consultation!  What!  I told her I could have him on the first page of Google for half of the consultation price!  What the???  Anyway, I'm thinking of doing it for some businesses in the area. 

 

I've been thinking about another way to be seen besides business cards.  (Many people around here don't realize the importance of a having a website for their business.)  I'm going to have engraved pens made up with the URL of the site.  Then I'm going to give them to my kids because they always lose their pens.  You think that's crazy?!  Nope.  Their friends and their friend's friends will take those pens home, their parents will take them to work and the site will be seen.  I'm also planning on buying a page in the yearbook and sponsoring a little league team.  That means the whole team wears the shirts with my site on it....      Now I haven't decided what to call the site. I'm leaning towards my maiden name.  I have both my maiden name and married (even though I'm divorced) name on my SS card.  I love my maiden name though.  I didn't want to change it, but my ex-idiot (husband) convinced me.  Just so I can get a divorce,  but I digress.  So, those are my plans before Septmeber starts.  I have to give this plan a goal, a plan and put it into play.  Before that, I have to buy a fridge and fix my minivan ($2000.00 in repairs-transmission).  Like I always say, never a dull moment!

 

I'll be back to post some other stuff.  I want to share some pics.  We had a great time lasy week...you'll see what I mean!

I was just pondering on the facts of life. Not those but the facts of pens in the role of life, especially mine. I have found the circulation of my pens from start to end.

 

I usually start out a year with a ten, or is it 12?, pack of BIC ballpoint pens (one of the best pens ever). Well I go through the school year with them and every so often one gets lost, destroyed or someone forgets to return it. Each month they fall one by one. By the end of the year I end up with at least one that I cling to for dear life, for this pen holds the written word, the Point De Ball, and mostly I don't want to get marked for not being prepaired for class.

 

That is the cycle of my pens for the year. Don't get me started on pencials cause they come along to me every so often. They're are usually gone in the first week (of exageration). And my trusty fountain pen stays with me everywhere I go. For the art of calligraphy is the art of beautiful handwriting.

Thank you for the pens.  They were an unexpected surprise waiting for me in my bag of asian wall hangings that I purchased at Kohl's yesterday.  Unfortunately, I can't accept these pens as I believe they belong to Chilly and Nomad and aren't yours to give to others.  Also, I had no plans of writing anything at 4:30 am.  Did you want me to write something for you?  Anyway, I truly do appreciate the gesture and I see it as a sign that you really like me.
