Brawling Break
Once again, I felt too shit to get out of bed.
I even risked missing one of my English revision lessons.
Not really a great idea, considering the exam is on Friday...
Either way - I spent the whole day, once again - thrashing away on Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
I've managed to do that that I couldn't do on my old save - clear Classic mode on Intense difficulty.
It wasn't actually as hard as I anticipated. Either it's one of those fabled "PHWOAR-YOU-CAN'T-DO-THIS" difficulties, or I've just gotten better.
I've left a gap though, I've done it on Easy, Normal, Hard and Intense.
I'm not sure if I'm good enough with anybody to do it on Very Hard, other than Peach - and that would mean doing it through a second time with her.
I'm good enough with a few more characters now - I'm able to do Hard with Link, Meta-Knight and Samus.
Those three, along with Peach - were my 4 characters I used in The Great Maze level during the Subspace Emissary.
Oddly, I killed practically all of the dark characters with Link. Peach was actually pretty useless.

Shelly rang me tonight.
She told me that she'd told Ash about the events of Saturday, with my fainting and the disorentation hour that followed.
Ash came on MSN - almost instantly, barely a minute after she'd said "hi", asking me if I was alright.
Bless her. :)
It seems that Ash cares about me more than I thought.
And she told me she really likes Elite Beat Agents.
I knew she would. Tee hee, I only need to know a few things about a person to know what type of games they'd like.
I made a good choice for Ash's present there like. :D
I just finished making this w/a couple of adjustments and subsitutions.
Southern Peach Cobbler
SUBMITTED BY: Amy Posey PHOTO BY: Kathy
"I've been experimenting with cobbler for some time and this recipe is the final result. Loved by all. Use fresh Georgia peaches, of course!"INGREDIENTS
- 8 fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced into thin wedges [I used half a bag of frzn for md sz one.]
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice [fresh is good but, the plastic lemon works]
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
Plus...
- 1 cup all-purpose flour [I subsituted 1 c. self-rising flour for these three ingredients]
- teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
-
1/4 cup white sugar
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled and cut into small pieces [If using self-rising flour, salted butter may be subsituted here]
- 1/4 cup boiling water
MIX TOGETHER:
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon [I had previously bought these two premixed already]
-
1/4 cup white sugar
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, combine peaches, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss to coat evenly, and pour into a 2 quart baking dish. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes (if using fresh). Alternate: (Since I used frz peaches I put my mixture in the microwave instead, three times for a minute at at time, stirring and mixing it each time. Worked fine)
- Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine flour, 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/4 cupbrown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Blend in butter with your fingertips, or a pastry blender, until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in water until just combined.
- If using fresh- Remove peaches from oven and drop spoonfuls of topping over them. Sprinkle entire cobbler with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake until topping is golden, about 30 minutes. Alternate: (I used Pam Butter Spray in the round ceramic bowl I used and, spread the batter on the bottom then added the peach mixture from the microwave, then sprinkled the cinnamon/sugar over it. Care must be taken not to use too much Pam as it causes the edges to look somewhat burned.)
I tried to make a partial top for the cobbler when I scraped the batter bowl but, it didn't get as done as the rest, in the amount of time used. I was tempetd to add chopped pecans to the top also. I love pecans in most anything but decided to wait till the next time and see how it came out this way, with the subsitutions and, alternate instructions first. But, look out! Ya never know what will happen when I start experimenting in the kitchen! :)
Ummm....sure smells good! 'See' ya later! :p
Howdy howdy all!
Well instead of going with my family to Mississippi for Easter, but since I don't really do Easter I told myself a trip to the old ballgame might be a good time and I was right! Okay so I went to a pre-season game a couple of weeks ago and had a serious blast, the Astros even won. Of course this trend did not carry over into today's game. The astros lost 10 to 1. Ten to freaking One people!
Here are some highlights from the pre-season fun.
The field
Last Friday night fire works
and here is the best part of today's game...
yeah that's right. It was the singing of Deep in the Heart of Texas!
Told ya! Wasn't that gold? It's like you were in the audience huh?
How about some poetry...here goes....
Eating the Peach
Eating the peach, I feel like a murderer.
Time and darkness mean nothing to me,
moving forward and back with my white enameled teeth
and bloated tongue sating themselves on moist,
pulpy flesh. When I suck at the pit that resembles
a small mammal's skull, it erases all memory
of trouble and strife, of loneliness and the blindings
of erotic love, and of the blueprint of a world
in which man, hater of reason, cannot make
things right again. Eating the peach, I feel the long
wandering, my human hand—once fin and paw—
reaching through and across the allegory of Eden,
mud, boredom, and disease, to bees, solitude,
and a thousand hairs of grass blowing by chill waters.--Henri Cole

Yesterday,I mentioned War.I expressed my anxiety on the assumption that one day China would have to fight with US.Of course,If that happened,it would be in long years ago.
In China,we call US world bandit, and president of USA is cursed by Chinese people as much as prime minister of Japan. It is not because I think China will fail that I am afraid the war between the two country.(PR China have not failed in war since her establishment.)But you know,I have a lot of kind American friends,so I don't want war because I can't bear their hurt.
From the period of ancient China on,we have a tradition, that is "If one doesn't hurt me,I will not hurt him,but if one hurt us,I will hurt him also."I don't know whether I translated the phrase right, but I think you can see what it means. You know,China was ever the strongest country and maybe will be so in not longer future, but we have never invaded any country.Otherwise,Japan may have been a province or autonomous region of China. But in my opinion, western countries love invasion;most of colonies are established by the countries.
Ok,well,I just wanted to say:"I Hate War,I Hope The Whole World Is Peachful."And that is one of reasons why I chosed to major in comparative literature.
1 oz. ORANGE ABSOLUT (Orange vodka)
Fill up 1/2 way with Cranberry Juice
Add peach juice to your tasting
Squeeze the heck out of a quarter lime and put an additional lime slice in the drink.
It's like a cosmo only instead of Vodka AND Cointreau (Orange Liqueur), you simplify it with having Orange Vodka. Oh, and usually peach juice is NOT in a Cosmo.
Like my friend said it was so good that you couldn't taste the alcohol. Oooh, dangereux! Also, I found the recipe online and it said to make it with Stoli Orange, that that was the only way to go. But I can safely say that Orange Absolut is great. I've bought the cheaper vodkas before and it's not the same.
Drink responsibly!
