Ate "lunch" at "Stinger Rays" in the Honolulu airport- thinking we had a 4 hour layover. A beer for S and a macadamia colada for me to launch the attitude, along with an appetizer plate for dinner.... (it was after 6 pm our time, but only 3 here).
A trip to the farmer's market the next morning to stock up on local produce... down to the beach, then off to do a little geocaching.
This first cache was called Saphira's Teeth- a volcanic phenomena that occurs when lava flows into heavy surf... we needed this pic for the Earthcache... but I can't seem to get it to upload there.
Christmas Day we took a snorkeling tour... to Molokini- a great little crescent edge of the caldera ... but, alas the waves were too choppy so we had to opt for areas closer to the mainland... Turtle Town was awesome- I got to swim with 4 turtles there, another at the next site.... humuhumunukunukuapuaa galore, and tropical fish of all sorts... even saw a speckled eel of some sort. No underwater camera, they never do justice, anyway- it's the memories that last!
We hit a beach webcam cache on the way "home" - called my son in Nashville to snap the shot. It was dark and cold where he was... we are enjoying the nearly 80 degrees here~!
How about a little sunset ending to Christmas Day in Paradise... a little cloudy and windy... but perfect, nonetheless.
We are off to round the northern edge of West Maui today- see a blowhole, catch a few caches in what claims to be a lunar landscape. This is day 3 of 14..... Loving every minute!!!
