            Laurie and I were there, then.  Laurie had shopped there the day previous.  The blast rattled the windows of our apartment.  From today’s Jerusalem Post:    

            In a landmark ruling on Thursday, the Tel Aviv District Court convicted three Israelis of manslaughter who drove a suicide bomber on his way to carry out a terror attack in Netanya on July 12, 2005.

            The attack at the Sharon mall left five people dead and 30 wounded.

A Jerusalem Post article reporting Mossad Chief Meir Dagan’s analysis of Israel’s strategic position vis-à-vis the turmoil ongoing in the Middle East. It is a very positive outlook.

Dagan starts with the potential for Syria chomping at the bit to engage Israel in a war. Dagan implies Assad of Syria’s boldness is due to the successes that Hezbollah had in Lebanon.

Dagan lists five “serious threats” to Israel’s security:

1.      Emboldened Syria trying to forcefully retake the Golan Heights.

 

2.     Palestinian strife internally that is emerging as a civil war.

 

3.     The Sunni/Shia violence.

 

4.     Iraq Strife.

 

5.     The Iran government building a nuclear arsenal.

Oil, Technology, the willingness of some in the West to share military grade technology, and the overt willingness of Russia and China exchanging military technology is all emerging as the greatest threat to Israel’s modern existence since it would founded in 1948.

If you don't know Theodore Hertzl was the founder of the Zionist movement in the later part of the 19th century. Read this:

Herzl, who was completely cut off from his Jewish roots and brethren, felt that any territory would suffice.

I just read this on a website about Zionism. It caught my attention because I always felt this. I say we move Israel to Canada and be done with it! It would probably solve all the worlds problems...  well... it's thought anyway! See ya on the other side!
