Painting Again @ MindSay
Well, I am sick of painting! My teacher still doesnt like my painting.....He says its "too cartoony". What the hell!? This just pisses me off. He keeps trying to get me to change it. Its hard to explain with out the picture. I will post when I get home.
Then Carol keeps wanting the downstairs bathroom finished........She wants us to wipe it down b/c it still has the dust on it from construction.....and she doesnt want us to us the upstairs bathroom b/c its hers now..... bite me bitch.....
As you can tell, I am a little pissy.....I think it started with my painting teacher....I was in a good mood this morning....
So I hope this day gets better or this is going to be one of those crapy days.....I hope everyone has a better day than me right now....
Well my beastie of a painting is almost finished--all I have yet to do is to apply a red wash to the lanters, paint the fairy wings, and add the glare and detailing to the wineglass. Oh, and to spray and sign and spray again. Not too shabby! That is a project for tomorrow morning, and at lunch. And briefly after english. But it shall be done! I am happy with her. (I say her because the two major focusses of the painting are women. There are men in the painting too, however.) Anyways, I need to sleep.
Today has been a lovely day--a golden day--with lots of memories made that I'll cherish always.
My new dining room set shipped out today. I should have it in a couple of weeks! I am so excited! I will now have get the rest of my house up to speed before it gets here and I plan on having some friends over for some of my lasagne.
My painting that I bought should be framed by then and I will be doing some sanding on the spackling I put on last night and be a painting crazy so as everything can come together before they come over. I am thinking Memorial Day weekend for this. I doubt my lawn will ready but I will do my best too get it as close as it can be when the dinner party arrives. I do plan on buying something to pretty up this lawn bed I have to make the scenery better when folks arrive.
I have been wanting to do this so badly since I moved back. I love my friends and what they have done for me for so long and in some way this is a very small thank you for them. I feel so blessed to be able to do this and even have the opportunity to do so.
In the beginning of the day I sat around in my PJ's for a long time. My poor dogs waited several hours longer then usual to go and do their business. They were ok, they held it just fine. However, have you seen the clip from America's Funniest Videos where a dog pees for longer then 30 seconds? I think that was my Lab. He must have a huge bladder! Anyway, during the week I have to get dressed before I've even had a shower, to walk the kids to the bus stop 4 houses down. So when Saturday comes I wait as long as I can to get dressed. I usually do the same thing on Sunday too. Cause let's face it, it just makes more sense to clean in your PJ's and then get a shower. Doesn't it?
This morning Elijah cried, and cried, and cried, and cried some more. My poor little baby must have had some awful gas. I gave him gas drops and Tylenol to help his tummy ache. Even after lots of crying, and the Tylenol he still didn't take much of a nap. Maybe he's already outgrowing them. Ugh, not at 4 months! Did I say it was a nice day? Yeah, even with a morning full of crying baby, it was a still pretty nice day.
Once I got my butt off the couch, showered, and took the dogs out, I spent a little time on the computer. I chatted with my friend blessedinsanity for a little. Then I decided it was time to head off to the furniture store. You see, I decided a few days ago that I was going to surprise my husband with a recliner when he comes home from California. He has said he wanted one a time or two. The store was having a sale that was only today and tomorrow, so I had to take the kids with me instead of waiting for school on Monday. They promised, with the thought of a reward, that they would be good. So I looked at all the recliners, sat in several of them, and then realized that since I would be sitting it in when hubby is at work that I wanted a swivel rocker recliner. Wouldn't you know it, they had a few floor models that were on sale. I was totally prepared to pay near $1000 for a good chair, and have to put it on a store credit plan. I found a low back, cause let's face it, no one wants to sit in a chair that will wrench their neck, soft black leather, swivel rocker recliner for less then $400!!!! It was on such a good sale because they were no longer carrying that color. The original price was $999! After tax, and an outragious delivery charge of $75 the grand total was $468. Not bad, and I paid cash for it. Yay! No credit hanging over our heads for this one. Dale will say that I shouldn't have bought it, but I guarantee he will be sitting his boney little butt in it on top of the full body massaging pad that I bought him for Christmas. haha I will tell him it's his anniversary present because our 8th anniversary is May 2nd.
Now on to the kids....I promised if they were good I would take them to the McDonald's with the indoor play place, AND get them sundaes for dessert. They very rarely get ice cream or any kind of dessert when we go out, so they were excited about that! They were fairly good, so I did as promised. They even ended up getting balloons from the furniture salesman.
I have a to do list also. Things I want to get done before Dale comes home. Unpacking several more boxes, finishing painting Elijah's room (so that he can sleep in there), sweep the basement, etc. Well, it's a descent sized list, but I managed to get 3 things done on that list after 10pm tonight, and it's not even midnight yet. haha Tomorrow I won't get much, if any of it done. The kids are going to an Easter thing, and then I have to make cupcakes when we get home, for Caitlin's class on Monday. You know, you have to take cupcakes for your kids birthday, which is actually tomorrow. :)
