Shrink Shrank Shrunk

Americans are no longer the tallest people in the world; we are now surpassed by most northern and western European populations.  As for the honor of being the tallest nation, the Dutch have it.

You know the Dutch, the ones who founded new York under the name New Amsterdam.  Them people.  The ones who, in the plague period of the 1630's enjoyed, and welcomed, an influx of Jews.

Curiously, it was the Jewish businessmen of Holland who funded the founding of New Amsterdam; and New York City has been said to still boast the largest Jewish population outside of Israel.

What?  You do NOT understand the significance of height, and the fact that America has lost the height dominance it has maintained since  early colonial days?

Try this: There is a direct correlation between height, intelligence, and wealth; and Americans are shrinking relative to the rest of the world.

As the average height of Americans has decreased, from its pinnacle just after World War II, the American economy has also declined in  comparison to Europe, and the increased height of Asians.  Asians, those of Japan, are almost as tall as we are.

Ask which nations are funding our national debt?  The answer has been Japan, and now includes both Japan and China.

Why are we shrinking?  Height is a function of the health and welfare of a nation’s pre-school children.  More specifically, it reflects the care available prenatal and postnatal until a child is two years old.  It also reflects the nutritional environment over the next sixteen years of body  growth.  America is shrinking its children.

Tall people are healthier, wealthier, longer-lived, and generally more intelligent than their shorter competition.  America is shrinking.

America is also working very hard to deplete its educational resources.

There was a time when universal education available to all Americans was superior to all but the most exclusive foreign schools.  Today, we test our children and do not teach them.  We test them so that we can fail their schools and deprive the most needy districts of resources.

We are, the Creationist Fundamentalist movement is, expending as much as possible in the effort to dumb down American society.

We are, the Right-wing Republicans are, working overtime to create an environment in which vital manufacturing and  intellectual services are being outsourced to the taller nations; or to those nations who will be taller within half a generation.

Outsourcing, the process by which any form of employment which does not depend on physical proximity is transferred to remote global locations.  The effect?

The effect is to bolster intellectual and financial bases of those nations, while depleting our domestic resources.

Consider this: Strip club performers, Real Estate managers and doctors have job security; as do politicians, and the owners of basic industries.
Basically, everyone else is expendable.  Even our food production is being outsourced.  That is the most shocking development of all.

By the 1960's, when the baby-boomers came of age, Europeans were taller than Americans, and economists were looking to our agricultural  exports and technology import growth as a basic sign that we were, by standard economic definition, a third world nation.

If we project the trends, and consider the long-term detrimental effect the Right-wing has had on our prospects, within a generation, Americans will be emigrating at levels comparable to the current immigration rates which the Republicans are loudly decrying.

Ours is a nation in decline.  The reality of that statement will be known after the 2008 election and by the duration of our involvement in the Iraq misadventure.

Will the Democrats sweep the election?  If they do, well they behave responsibly or continue their current pattern of last minute thievery?

Pace of cities increasing

_____________________________________________________

Date Line May 2, 2007

Ah the pace of progress. New York City - my birthplace - was once the city that never slept; now, stores that were once open all night close before the Tonight Show goes off the air.

Everything is leaving the Bush Right-wing Democracy. Even our belief in democracy; in Iraq, seventy-one percent of the people, a veto proof majority, want America gone. Yet we stay.

Our claim to fast paced life, our go-go society, has gone off-shore.

Singapore, Copenhagen, and even siesta loving Madrid, are ahead of New York. Hell, NYC has fallen to eighth in the world for any people who want to get things done.

On average, city dwellers move ten percent faster than they did at the start of the Clinton era. Everything is people do is fast paced - and America is slowing down.

Even text messaging, cell phones, and the internet are against us. In the other nations, Internet and wireless services are generally superior to those in America. We are falling behind.

America has decided it would rather kill than accomplish. We are seeing it through small indicators, the pace of walking to the use of money. Consider the $500 Billion cost of the Bush-Cheney Right-wing murder of Iraqis.

If America could really afford to spend $500 Billion, without debt to China and Japan, what could we do with the money?

What could we do which might be productive; and not involve the disabling of tens of thousand of America military youth?

Which, by-the-way, is adding a trillion dollar burden to future generations.

What could we do?

Let's see:

1. Seventeen million (17,000,000) high school graduates could go to college free, and provide the nations intellectual needs for the next forty years.

2. For the next eight years, we could provide free pre-school to America's children. All that would do is prepare them for school, maybe get them reading early and enrich our labor pool in the 2030's; just when the college graduates in #1 would be hitting mid stride and be able to put these kids through college.

3. With the growing post age 65 population, we could pay for assisted care for 18 million elderly. Again relieving the current generation of the costs, and freeing money for educating the grandchildren of those elderly.

What is this Bush-Cheney Right-wing murder spree costing America?

It is costing us two or three generations of educated workers. When the medical costs come into play, we will have lost one hundred years worth of high quality workers.

How will we replace them? We are already falling behind the world.

Our corporations report record earnings, the stock market goes up, and an analysis of where those earnings come from shows they were all from overseas. American Corporations are losing money in America.

Reality beats news reports. The American economy is not really growing. What is growing is American investment overseas. But that investment doesnt pay taxes here; it doesn't employ workers here; it doesn't even buy support services here.

Everything meaningful to economic growth is being outsourced.

America is slowing down. Americans have no place to go, and are in no hurry to get there. We are quickly becoming a third world nation.

Time to go on a study tour of Mexico; time to learn the right way to practice the siesta. Mexicans are giving it up - but, check out the anti-immigration moves; we dont want their new work ethic to be practiced here. So NFTA will send the jobs there.
