A Musical Quilt

If there was a "Write" way to go about "Righting" a song, then I somehow surely must have missed it.  Those who know the secret of successful song synthesis, are not only on the money.gif"payroll", but they seem to magically and efortlessly spill out song after song. flat.gif

Does a composer hear it then lay it down, or is it perhaps they exact opposite way all around.  Is a composition written, for the satisfaction of the writer, and then happens to please the listener, or is the "great" songwriter intentionally giving other "ears" just what they want to hear?

Because there seems to be a "Right" way to "Write a song, and I haven't got a clue, I have often wonder, what methods do YOU use? music_e0.gif MetroLgBlk.gif

Is it about improvisation, and then some recalculation, or more about systematic and intentional motives, melody, and harmonization? comp013.gif media025.gif

Blessed with a gift, a talent, or a muse, and surely there must be a template, a method that they use.

Session 1

A work in progress. A painful journey. Anyone suffering with the reality of being intersexed, or who has someone in their life who suffers from a physical, genetic or hormonal gender disorder may benefit from the journal of my experiences.  To be unable to identify with either sex and yet exhibit characteristics on some level of both is no fun. Often misunderstood. We feel forced to solitude, hiding, desperate seeking, secrecy, emotional deprivation and withdrawal. A constant need to learn who we are and how we can fit into a world where no one can fully understand is our perpetual mission.  I will share observations and experiences, medical results, and research.  When and where I can I will address questions and hopefully shed some light on an unfortunate condition to which there is no cure.

I enjoyed Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  It was inventive and visually stunning.  Johnny Depp is an amazing actor who had some great one-liners.  I thought it was interesting that Tim Burton centered on Willy Wonka and his life story.  However, I still prefer the original and Gene Wilder's Wonka.  It had more heart I think.

I also find it quite interesting that Tim Burton who was and may still be an outsider himself, likes to focus on lone characters, usually outsiders or outcasts, and their sad lot in life.  When you think about it, all his movies have been about some kind of outsider...Willy Wonka was the perfect vehicle for this continual theme.

Anyway, for those who haven't seen the movie yet, you'll especially enjoy the trippy ride that only Tim Burton's genius can produce.
