Really, what does the death of this man accomplish?
Will the terrorism just stop? No. Hitler died, and we have Nazis in our own country now.
We need to think ahead. What will we do after we get rid of bin Laden and his top goons?
Do we just move our troops out and think everything will be a-okay, like 9/11 never happened?
To be honest, we already have. The only time we remember 9/11 now is once every year or whenever a politician uses it as a tool to get something passed by enraging us. Yeah, the death of 3,000 people has become a tool.
Back to my question. What are we going to do? Troops can only do so much.
You can use troops to integrate blacks and whites, but they can't remove the racial tension that has been built up over centuries.
That is the problem here. We have centuries of hatred between the "more cultured and civilized" West and the "savage" Middle East.
People just don't forget about wars to conquer their land with the pretense of God to back it up.
People just don't forget about years of oppression under spheres of influence and ignored pleas for independence.
People just don't forget about a "champion of democracy" replacing a democratic government with a monarchy.
Their trust in the West has been shattered by us.
We need to rebuild trust, and reward trust.
We need to start targeting the roots of terrorism and instead of just the weeds that pop up now and then. Stop the propagandists that turn young people into suicide bombers, instead of just shooting them before they pull the trigger.
Ah Osama, Osama, ... we were wondering if you were alive or dead. Now we know. You are alive and looking more fit and healthy than our dear Prez, Georgie Porgie with the pie in his eye. But really, that dye job on the beard is a bit over the top vain; and even somewhat egotistical.
However, as Georgie worries about his legacy, and the contempt with which history will view him...
Hold it! George don’t worry about history. He did, after all, proclaim that history did not matter, because (apparently, when his term in office was done) we would all be dead.
Well George, you are as good at achieving that objective as you have proved to be on every other task you have ever engaged in – with the sole exceptions of dodging service in Nam, and serving your guard commitment without going AWOL.
Come to think of it, given that Rumsfeld, Rove, et al were running the administration, George has even been AWOL from the presidency.
But back to Osama – not to be confused with Obama, though it would be entertaining to have both playing world leaders.
We all, I hope by now, know that Osama Bin Laden has been granted official American recognition as the leader of the Islamic Nation – albeit a nation without geographical territory. Osama is the leader, the official voice (per Bush Administration justification for calling the Iraq invasion and occupation a ‘war’) and hence is the soul of Islam.
As the “Soul of Islam”, Osama is in line to be the prophesied heir to the Throne of Mohamad. Is it no wonder he wants to look a youngish fifty? And even less wonder that he is now, semi-formally, calling for all in the west to convert to Islam. Osama knows his role well.
In response Bush has asserted "a reminder about the dangerous world in which we live.” Or, more appropriately, the dangerous world which Bush has created through his assertion that Osama was irrelevant in the context of the destruction of the only true Islamic leader who Osama had any fear of – Saddam Hussein.
Of course it helps that Bush, an Ivy League student of Business and History, has used his learning to destabilize the Middle East and, cause oil prices to rise, by destroying Iraq production capabilities, and making sure that the world is denied access to its largest proven reserves.
As noted, Bush holds degrees in History and Business. He has all the training necessary to realize that, when this is done, the United States will be full dependent upon whoever eventually controls Iraq.
The key is to make that position more powerful. Thus remove access to Iraqis oil until such time as the Saudis and Iranians deplete their reserves. Or, at least, until such time as a Leader of the Islam Nation is enthroned as the sole voice and power over the oil nations.
Clearly, Bush is promoting Osama Bin Laden for that job – why else withdraw troops just at the time when they were about to take Osama’s head?
In his speech, Osama has made it clear; there are two choices which he, and Bush, have promoted: "One is from our side, and it is to escalate the fighting and killing against you. This is our duty, and our brothers are carrying it out. The second solution is from your side. ... I invite you to embrace Islam."
The evangelicals will, in refuting the express promise of their supposed savior that, “those who live by the sword shall die by the sword,” have insisted that this nation, and other nations, swear their allegiances to the sword.
Europe has rejected that notion. Hence it has become the target of Osama forces. America, who has sworn by the sword, and thus ensured its own promised destruction, is relatively safe from attack.
As we have seen since 9/11, why attack a nation whose leaders and people have decided to comply with every goal and objective which Osama needs to ensure his position as leader of Islam?
Were it different, were we not in the service of Osama, we would forego the sword for all purposes except to behead Osama, or any other entity who kills our people on our soil.

Fantasy time. Report has it that Osama Bin Laden is functioning, alive and scared for his safety; hence he is both staying out of view and avoiding personal contacts.
OK, and when was it you planned to take title to the Brooklyn Bridge?
We are talking about a man in need of specialized hi-tech medical treatment. He needs insulin and dialysis; and he is supposedly getting it in one of the most backward places on earth.
Hum. Now there is a bit of unbelievable. Bin Laden is managing to get better treatment in a cave than the average American can in a hospital.
Hum. Ok, so not so unbelievable. Bin Laden does not have the American Congress doing everything it can to prevent his access to healthcare, even though that is, supposedly, what they authorized when they authorized the military action which is draining our budget.
Hillary Clinton voted to waste the money and deprive Americans of the various social supports the interest we pay to China et al could have funded. Hillary wants to be the next George Bush. Americans are really that stupid?
You bet they are. Did they not elect Bush to a second term? Did they not pay $27 million to build a museum to Creationism? Are they not cutting health care to those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Are they not saying that soldiers who are blind, or who have lost limbs, are only a little disabled, only a little limited in their normal functionality, and thus do not need, or deserve, the disability benefits or medical care afforded the "truly injured" ?
Yep. Bin Laden is alive and well and enjoying far better care and living conditions than America affords its combat veterans. Sure, we can believe that. Do you hear anyone in Washington disputing it?
Taliban militant leader, Haji Mansour Dadullah has proclaimed, "He is alive, active and well." Certainly there is no reason to refute such a statement.
If it came down to it, George Bush has probably arranged for Saudi, or Sunni, medical specialists to keep Osama alive and well. Prove otherwise! Bush actions and management of American affairs has shown that he will do anything and everything he can to bring down this nation.
The end of the United State, the creation of an Armageddon style end to civilization, these are the things which all born-again types pray for. These are the things they support. If it were otherwise we would seem them marching on Washington and demanding national Health Care and an end to privatization, and end to the filling of some pockets with money which should be going to keeping the many alive and healthy.
But do not worry. The time will come when it will end. The time will come when reality envelops even those in deep denial. The time will come when a few realize that the many are doomed to the consequences of their own stupidity; and when that time comes, the few will step aside.
OH! Right! The rich are already doing that. Sorry, getting behind myself.
No matter. The economy is slowing, the last vestige of capital has been sucked from the home equity markets, and those adjustable rate mortgages are about to get costly. The rich will get richer.
China, that "Godless Communist Satanic Nation or Reds" is in the business of lending the reds the money to fund the programs which are busting the American budget.

Thus, with the words of Sigmund Freud, did NY Times Op-Ed Contributor George Prochnik begin his article.

As everyone knows, the hostile camp during the war also sheltered a chosen darling of Providence: the German kaiser. It was most regrettable that later on the other side a second appeared. No one gained thereby: respect for God was not increased."
As Prochnik, Freud warned that we should "Be afraid of the leader who refuses to look in the mirror." Which, of course, means, be afraid of any leader who will not take an honest look at his own actions.
As a Jew, Freud would have known the story of Solomon, who found the Laws of Moses in the palace library and realized he had been doing things wrong. Solomon, noted for his wisdom, immediately reviewed his own decisions, and had them reviewed by his wisest advisors.
It is from that we have the "Rule of Solomon": Do what you believe to be right and you are not liable for any wrong made from ignorance of the true law; but once you learn the law you bare full responsibility for your actions.
OH IF ONLY we had leaders who understood the Rule of Solomon and could look themselves in the mirror. Instead what we have is people who should listen to the words of John Prine�s song, "Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore."
Pine remind the Right-wing that Heaven is "already overcrowded, From your dirty little war. Now Jesus don't like killin' No matter what the reason's for, And your flag decal won't get you Into Heaven any more."
Not that it matters, as we have seen in previous blogs, the Right-wing evangelicals could not care less for what the supposed king thinks of their actions. Given the opportunity, they will do everything that they are told not to do, and will refuse to do that which they are told to do.
About the only thing to be happy about: The will never be a Right-wing evangelical, never be a Christian or Muslim fundamentalist, who can gain entry into whatever heaven might really exist.
Thus, if we wish to be free of them for all eternity, it becomes our obligation to do, and support, that which well get us where they are not.
To go where they will not be, we must oppose anything which leads to the death of innocents; we must oppose the use of military force when peaceful means are available; we must take care of the sick and the hungry; and most important, while ensuring we never engage in actions which kill another person, we must also make sure never engage in an action which renders others sick, hungry, or homeless.
Of course, if we know and judge them by their actions, and not their proven hypocritical words, we can all see that the Right-wing has no idea what I am talking about.
At this moment, Congress is reviewing the presidential veto which serves to make the current conflict perpetually open ended. Right now many are sitting quietly and allowing the murders to continue in their names. Say goodbye to them, for their eternal rest shall be oblivion.
But hey! That assumes that this is not all there is, was, and will be. So choose your sides and the way you want to live.
Decide if you well-being, and that of your descendants, is less important than borrowing more Billions to murder Iraqi women and children.
Decide if you can "win" when nobody can decide where the finish line is, or if it even exists at all.
There is no fence to sit upon. All those who do not oppose the administration actions become part of a famed Nixon "silent majority" who supposedly supported the War in Vietnam.
Those who are silent now support the wounding or killing of American military sons and daughters. They support the killing of 600,000 Iraqis and freedom for Osama Bin Laden. The silent, like those in the Administration who yell there is something to win, define winning as the economic and social destruction of America.
Which side are you on? Tell you Congress person - Deadline, or no.

Is it a coincidence that shortly after the announcement of al-Iraqi’s capture that various operations collared al Qaeda insurgents complete with imported weapons from Iran?
The Bush Administration is sending a message to bin Laden and Ahmadinejad that he still has bite to go with his bark pertaining to the War on Terror. This bite is regardless of cut-n-run defeatists like Senator Reid who have publicly surrendered to al Qaeda.
