Organize @ MindSay
OK ... so it's official ~ I am now the Toddler teacher at our Headstart Center!
(That's worthy of the dancing elephant, don't you think?) I oversee 8 toddlers with specific responsibility for 4 of them and the asst. teacher is assigned the other 4. The peperwork is more than a year behind with Federal inspectors due in the center before the end of November! Hah! I'm making sure I document how things are as I take over, that's for darn sure! Of course, it also involves a pay raise!!! ;) (as soon as I finish getting all my college credits and teaching hours documented!)
Perhaps I will take a picture of my class tomorrow to post here! hahaha
2 of my 4 will soon be moving upstairs to the preschool, but I know, for sure, there is one infant coming in, which will move the oldest "infant" over to the toddler class.
Now, for the request. If any of you know good websites for ideas for games, crafts, etc for TODDLERS ... I'd be really grateful for any assistance! After all, it's a bit of an adjustment from High school ... but then ... maybe not that much ... ;)

I was organizing some pictures this morning and I came across this picture of standing cypress that I took in the farm field last summer. I thought it was pretty so I decided to post in on this dreary winter day.

My son tried to call me collect today from jail on my cell, so this recording guided me thru putting 25 bucks on my account to rec've the calls so I am plugging all the info, it tells me to hurry, my caller is waiting on the line, I am doing it as fast as I can.. and plugged in the final confirmation pound sign, and the line went dead. so now I have 25 credit and he prob will never call me again.
Change of subject:
I noticed the water jug at my office had a little bit of water, so I made a note to myself to get water refilled before I go. The gal that works for me at the office bundled up all the laundry and left it in the spare room. I left to go have dinner with my husband, had to come back to get the bird. She had brought all the smelly laundry ( I had to use biofreeze today and some other ointments that smell ) and plopped them in the middle of the reception area AND the water bottle was off of the unit as well.
Grr.. I .. KNOWWWWW what I have to do.. I dont need you to do things like that. Now before you go and tell me she was trying to be helpful. No..she wasnt..she was being manipulative. She 'seems' to have a good heart, but she is uncannily manipulative. Now what if I had another client, I would have had to drag all that stuff to the other room so the office looked presentable again. Just makes double work for me sometimes. I have asked her not to before.

My landlord at the office called me on Monday and left me a awful message. "Dawn this is XXX, You said when you got your taxes, you would catch up the rent and get all current, and I havent received anything from you and I cant pay the taxes on that building without money coming in, and my calculations show you owe over 3000.00 dollars"
Oh no she didnt!! I owed one month's rent, that SHE said in writing that I could use the deposit I paid on the office 2 yrs ago. I called, left a message, the weekend came and went, she didnt return my call... called Tuesday.. told her we needed to resolve this matter, did she get my last check or not ( she sometimes gets the check and doesnt cash for weeks! I think from now on, I will just go get a money order, rather than screwing up my account waiting on her AND send certified!, cause she is losing it!) I got a letter that day from her... Dawn.. sorry.. I called the wrong person, you dont owe that money, etc... " SHE could HAVE called me...cause I was thinking.. good lawd, I wont be able to go to NY next week, all my stuff will be out on the sidewalk.. ( they do that down here in GA..its insane!)

| [And a testament to the power of collective action.] From the BBC website. France to scrap youth job law | |||
He said it would be replaced by other measures to tackle youth unemployment. Millions of students and union members have taken to the streets over the last month in protest against the law, which made it easier to fire young workers. Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said the law's aim had been to tackle high unemployment among the young. The law, known as the First Employment Contract or CPE, introduced a new work contract for under-26s.
It was to allow a two-year trial period, during which employers could end a contract without explanation. The plan to replace the law was announced after a meeting between the president, Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin and other senior ministers on Monday. 'Dramatic situation' Speaking in a live television address, Mr de Villepin said the president had accepted his proposed changes and that the new measures would be presented to the various sectors concerned during Monday. He said he was convinced that the only way of addressing joblessness in France was a better balance between flexibility for employers and security for employees. "For some time the action of the government had been guided by one objective, to provide thousands of young people from our society with opportunities for jobs," he said. "I wanted to act very quickly because the dramatic situation and the despair of a number of young people warranted it. "This was not understood by everyone, I'm sorry to say," said Mr de Villepin. His goal now, he said, was to work for the future of the country, adding that he hoped all French people would work together. Union leaders had given the government until Easter weekend to withdraw the law or face a repeat of the recent general strikes. In a first reaction, the deputy leader of the country's second biggest trade union, the CGT, welcomed the announcement. Maryse Dumas told the French news agency, AFP, that the withdrawl of the CPE was due to the "success of the joint action of workers and students, as well as union unity". | |||
