Open House @ MindSay

Are you freekin kidding me

Yep I have done it...finally watched my head roll down the street and allow my brains to leak out. Money the root of all evil, yes but it also pays the cable, phone, gas, electric, water bill and most importantly the morgage. So what did I do, I private and I need my space Cj went from sharing the house with the kids (nina Simone and Smokey) to now having a full house of misfits. Honestly everyone here is a misfit in their own way and yes I will through myself in that box.

The first roomate works at a bank and carried herself with a very quiet wafer like kind of way, of course that was before she got comfortable and now allowed chatty kathy and the chuckie doll rolled into one come out. Within the last couple weeks she has managed to leave the downstairs light (large chandalier) on as well as leaving the front door wide open. Ooooooh I so wanted to say something bad when I approached her but instead I asked if she knew she left the door open. "no i closed it I know I did" ok so when I say wide open I actually meant she didn't lock it. Did you lock the door? "oops I guess I forgot". I patiently went over into the kitchen and told her that she might have also forgoten that we are giving away weapons for anyone breaking into the house....i have a full rack of knives hanging up next to the stove.

The following day the same roomate closes and locks the door this time and also donates a parting gift to the house by running over the trash can as she gos to work. Trash was all over the place as well as children passing the house that could have been struck. I breathed in and just said a minor prayer, got dressed and picked up the trash.

I could go on with the other drama, keys left in the door, lights left on, water left running, full trash can in kitchen...but I wont because I know that I am not perfect and while the ages of my new roomates are 34,25,23 and 21 I assume this is the pay back for the stupid things I did while I lived with my parents. Instead if flying of the handle I have advised all the roomates that the house meeting has been moved up from january to this saturday,......oh wait i forgot the last guy to move in complains about the hustle and bustle of the city, loud music and guys standing on the corner. What does he do the night he moves in, Im playing John Coltrane and the next thing I hear is BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM.......TAP TAP,BOOM,BOOM,BOOM,BOOM//

I felt like my mother when I jumed out he bed and said oh hell no. Are you kidding. The guy is youn g and this is his first place and he us use to playing it loud, but understood after I spoke to him that it was not only too loud but rude. Don't get me wrong I turn the base as high as it will go when jamming to Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield,Old School slow Jams a little rap and maybe just maybe Bonnie Raitt gos past the point where music is played but this is all done away from others houses as I am driving along the highway.

I feel better...older but better

Open House #1
Cyclone goes to a charter school. I like that very much,  for the record.  Yes, there is a constant push for fundraising (because they only get 75% of their funding from State funds and must raise the rest), but the class sizes are smaller, the facility is extremely clean, and the teachers work to make good relationships with the families.  Which is why so many families send all of their children through this particular school.

Today was Open House for our district.  Or, you could call it, Meet the Teacher and Bring All the Items on the Supply Lists.  I just realized I forgot, though, to label Cyclone's box o'stuff. Ah well. His homeroom teacher saw us bring it in and put it down, so it should be credited to us.

There are tables in the cafetorium, at this school. Tables where you buy a school "agenda" -- read, planning guide/calendar/teacher-parent communication tool -- and rent a locker for the year.  Then, there's the bus route table, the uniform table, the after-school care table (for the younger kids), and the PTSO table.   This year, I have volunteered to assist with Fundraising Coordination for the PTSO.  Why? I have no idea. But I have.

Cyclone's class list has about 18 students on it at this point. I like that. There are about 2 eighth grade classes, 2 seventh, and 3 sixth grade classes.  I think. <smile>  I'll do a better count, later. (Hey, I'm on the PTSO Board, ha ha ha!)  His classes will include journalism and art, which I think is very cool.  His homeroom teacher was pleased to see him.  This surprised me, as Cyclone had a real problem hanging on to his textbooks last year. ;)  Do you think the new glasses will help in that regard this year?

Me, either.

Even so, we are looking forward to his final year of Middle School.  :)  I better go get to work hemstitching his uniform slacks...

And guess what? I have Cartoon Ranger's Open House in 2 hours.  Busy day!

man, and i don't wanna swim.
what if the lake gets so filled up it reaches my house and i drown because i forget how to swim? on the plus side, there's a tornado warning. my gosh! how fun is toronto?

i got to walk home in the rain. coxwell to the beaches, just so anyone who lives around here knows how far i'm talking about, lalala in the rain. i was going to skip but realized that would be insane, so i ran like a normal person.

and, like a normal person, i didn't have my key. and no one was home! so i was locked outside for two hours. about half an hour into my locking-out keag came down and we tried to get up to the roof outside my room and push open a window. well both of us falling out of a tree and one douse of climbing up the side of the house later, we made it in. only two seconds later did my dad come home and open the front door with his key.

now i have a big cut on my arm and i'm soaked.

and the promise of going school shopping, not "back to school shopping" people do, buying clothes and things. no. buying my no heels, no zippers, no high-tops, no open-toes, no anything remotely nice, school shoes. and binders, pencils, locker shelves, et cet. sanely enough, i'm not going. ha.

arrrggg!
