Good Goddess Above! My brain is fried! I bailed on exersising again this evening and my moms immeditally got after me for that. Your going to loose your momentem...blah blah blah.........your starting to loose that water weight...blah blah blah. I kept my kewl and politly informed her that my school work at this time takes priority over any walking or eliptical machine. Then my mother who hasn't been in any form of school (I don't count continuing credits to keep her RN License) for 50 some years, said it shouldn't be that hard to do your work during the day. Mind you my mother didn't go to college college. She went to a 4 year Catholic Nursing school and only took core courses for nursing!
It took me literally all day minus 20 minutes in the morning to take the kids to school and three and half hours this evening (we had a school function to go to for the kids) to complete all but my final essay for this week. I read the main chapter for this week and after looking at next weeks assignment, I don't have to read the other two chapters she went over in our notes this week till NEXT WEEK. I took all my notes, I read everyone's postings, I posted my main posting today and responded over 4 times to other people's main posting (we only have to do 2 for the maxium to recieve a grade), I hunted down two completely different News Editorials to do my assignment. One on the US's No Child Left Behind Law and one from Jeruslum on Ramadan. I wrote, typed, and then posted both articles and my take of appeals and submitted them to the prof. I read 4 different classmates essays and picked one to make suggestions on. I posted my suggestions and printed off next week's assignments and new topic for the next paper. I also wrote down about two dozen ideas to "improve" my final draft of the Self Discriptive Essay, the Prof likes my paper but says I am not descriptive enough. I am going to work in the fact I am actually a very private person til I obtain a comfort level with others:D
I finally got all this done at 10 pm tonight! During the day and all my homework, I managed to get two loads of laundry done, discuss and be interviewed for my girl Teri for one of her papers and gave her some presidential historic information on Jimmy Carter for another paper and consented in talking to my brother for 45 minutes. In the afternoon, the kids and I did our Dollar General run (that is my new wally world:P), killd some time at the Buffalo pasture reading the Historical marker and took a few pictures of the buffalo, then we went up to the school for Family Science night! The kids really enjoyed themselves and now we have to show Randy how to implode soda cans, pull plant DNA, and explode two 2 liters of soda using menthos and life savers! The program was run by one of the NE Medical Center Genetisist out of Lincoln and I think a Highschool Biology teacher out of Omaha! I was a big kid and managed to snag a lil vile of strawberry dna that the kids (all school kids present) helped to pull tonight! I gave it to a lil girl who didn't get any though. Oh and we have to show Randy how to ease a no shell hard boiled egg into a beaker flask with out breaking it and then show him how to get it out!
I don't think I could handle two or three classes this semester for my first semester back. Not with everything I do around this house for everyone including people who don't live in my house! I am doing good if I do say so myself. And tomorrow my "date" with my girl Bree is actually going off with out a hitch! My moms is taking the kids to school for me so I can meet Bree in the morning. We will do her small errands and then Casino HERE WE COME! Randy set me a 100 buck limit and Arjan set Bree a 50 buck limit not counting lunch or any stops we make. Those killjoys know that Bree and I can sit at the casino all day if allowed! As long as we are out of the casino by 2 pm to pick up our respected kids all is good! I won't even complain about having to drive to the city tomorrow night for TKD and then kill two hours before my Leadership class AFTER our actual TKD class!
I won't say we did excellent at our first TKD tourny but we did really well for being one of the bigger Regional Tournies in our area!
Hell there were ppl all the way from FL that showed up outside of Omaha to the Tourny! It doesn't suprise any of us that we had ppl down from MN, ND, SD, IA or even up from MO, KS, and AK. But it did shock a lot of folks that we had folks from FL, CA, OR, GA, and a couple from CO! Why the FL one shocked us over the West coasters and the GA folks, is because the person was a lil 7 year old 1st Degree Black Belt! I even talked to his mom (sittin next to each other during the Adult and Tiny Tot's BB competitions before opening ceromonines!). This lil boy's mom flys him all over the states for TKD tournies! This weekend they were of course in NE, last weekend AJ (my assistant instructor) saw him in St. Paul, MN and the weekend before they were in NE again at a smaller state Trouny! Must be nice to be 7 years old and being flown all over creation by parents with money!:P I don't begrudge them doing that but I'll be dayumed I fly anywhere for a tourny unless my kids eventually make it to one of the big ones out in Las Vegas. Even the World Championship ones we won't ever fly too! That is only down in Little Rock!
Anyway, AJ is waiting on BB point standings to be released Monday morning to see if he made it to the World Champinship (Only those in Leadership Status can collect points and go on to World Championship or get any State Championship or REgional Champsionship). Mr. G (his first tourny also) placed in the BB also with forms and got a Victory Medal (basically 4th place -they only place 1-3) on his weapons.
The kids and I weren't up till after opening ceromonies. Which by the way was kick ass KEWL! Master K not only owns the Bellevue NE school (outside of Omaha) but owns 3 other schools in NE also, so they of course always host regionals and he went out of his way this year because they got some High Ranking Masters to help judge this year. A 1979 Triple Crown NE State Championship and World Champioinship Woman (can't remember her name) who is also on the ATA Board of Directors was there, along with the Current 7th to 9th degree Master who is currently the Triple Crown Holder for World Champioinships and one of the retired World Championship Head dudes that helped our Founding TKD Org and TKD Style Master Lee with some of the forms was there. They were all there to help judge! Not to mention a few other high ranking TKD folks who were helping to judge. Then for opening ceromonies after all the chitter that irritates ppl, they had a Korean group come in and did a whole Korean Dragon show with 4 dragons. It was AWESOME!
I managed to watch all of DeLaney's section and she did EXCELLENT for her first tourny! A Victory Medal (again 4th place) for forms and a 1st placing in Weapons out of 5 girls. She was the only ranking in her group. All the rest were higher ranking and a total of 8 girls ages 8-10. Sparring will come as we do more torunies. I didn't get to watch Coltin's because my section was called up and gettin started at the same time Coltin's was. So i relied on DeLaney to take pictures for me. Coltin also did EXCELLENT! He got a Victory Medal for 4th place in forms and got 3rd in Weapons out of 4 or 5 boys. There were three other boys the same ranking as he was and a total of 15 boys ages 8-10 that he had to compete against. Alas though Coltin wasn't able to spar. The ignorance of a Mamma and not knowing that lil boys had to have a cup. First who would have thought at that age group they require a cup. They have really nothing there:D So the judge (4th degree Dan) helped calm him down by letting him be the offical score keeper (usually reserved for BBs) and told him not to get mad at me cause us Mamma's don't always think of those things and just to have Daddy take him cup shopping before our next tourny!
There was about 10 of us women age grouped from 17-39 because there was only 3 girl for the 17-20 age group and the rest of us were the 30-39 age group. So instead of putting those 3 women off by themselves they just lumped them with us. Only two women did weapons (me and a higher ranking woman) and of course there was only 1 other woman at my rank and the rest of the women were either two ranks ahead of us or clear up to the rank below black belt. I did pretty good if I must say so! I got a Victory Medal (4th place) for forms, and the other Blue Belt Rank lady that didn't do weapons and the other Camo Rank (my rank) also got the Victory Medal, so in other words we tied for 4th place and since they only count 1-3 we didn't have to do what is called a Form off:P:D The other blue rank and I were the only ones that did Weapons. She got first and I got second. I didn't get to watch her form beause I was running over to Coltin's matt but EVERYONE said I got jipped out of 1st because I may have had my chucks do something funky twice, she dropper her weapon twice. The other Camo belt ranking goes to the same Academy as the Blue ranking women who took first and said she is either sleeping with the instructor or doing some massive kiss ass because they both started at teh same time and the Camo belt lady is right were she needs to be at and the other lady is two rankings higher then her now. Plus the 2nd Dan judge (Dan is the degree of black belt) is one of their Academies sister school instructors and Camo woman and the other ladies think that is why the lady who got first in weapons got it. I didn't see her weapons form and I dont' care. I placed!:D Again I did good in sparring didn't place but it was our first tourny and the judge even said once I get some things down I am going to be a force to be reckoned with because I don't just do kicks or just punches I do a lot of combos!
They were doing closing ceromonies by the time Coltin and I were done and getting changed and we were getting complements left and right on how well we all three did! The Triple Crown Lady went up to DeLaney and told her she was really impressed with her form and gave her a few tips to clean it up before testing and our in school tourny. Coltin's judge and the Men's Triple Crown Current Champion both told him he did great and the guy took Coltin up to another tourny matt and showed him what he could do to improve both his form and his weapons! I had the head guy that was retired and on board of directors show me a couple of arm and hand positions to help my sparring and complement all three of us and said that he is hoping to see us at some more tournies and asked why we weren't leadership yet. That he was watching all 3 of us all day long because he sat near us, and was really impressed with not only how well we did but how the kids and I were NOT shy and talked to EVERYONE and even helped out others in our postion of being first tourny. And he asked Coltin's judge if she would please find out why we weren't leadership. Coltin's judge is testing at World Championship with our insturctor for their 5th Dan BB and when I explained that I had leadership i just haven't taken it yet cause my kids didn't make it to open try outs and now have a invit try out after our in school tourny, the Host Master popped in and told Coltin's Judge (guess she is going to be at our tourny helping) to tell our instructor to get us in Leadership ASAP so we can start earing points!
Over all we did REALLY good, and I am proud of my kids. They went in to have fun and that is what they did! Sure they placed in weapons but that wasn't the goal. The goal was to get some experenice in and I delibreatly choose a BIG tourny to do it so they would get over the nervousness and here they both placed! We all are on a Marital Arts high today! It was late by the time we got out of Bellevue into Omaha and I decieded NOT to stop anywhere for food and we picked up Micky D's in IA before crossing BACK into NE on our way home, so we are going to the Olive Garden today for a celebration lunch!
I'll post pictures later (sorry none of me cause I was the only parent there to manage my two!) and wish us luck on preparing for our next rank testing this coming Saturday!

Quality Performance Inc.*, Fredericksburg, Va., is being awarded a $37,500,000 ceiling-priced, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the procurement of up to 77 Moriah Wind Systems (MWS). The MWS is a wind measuring and indicating system for ships and shore stations, providing digital wind speed and direction information, including crosswind and headwind, that supports decision making for air operations, combat, navigation, tactical planning and firefighting. MWS replaces the current Type F Wind Measuring and Indicating System, providing a single wind measuring system, consistent across all ship classes and shore stations. Ernie Chambers the Omaha District Senator done stuck his nose into business that isn't his concern. And going to set off a Race war like he did down in Omaha! Isn't he such lovely man!
My District has always been fighting over who has juristiction in our area. County or Tribal. It all boils down to that a good portion of our district is reservation. But on that reservation isn't just "indians" you have "non indians" also. A lot of people would settle their asses down and accept joint juristiction and have BIA, Tribal, and County all work together. Simply because ther are many ppl who like to claim non indian status one minute and then next minute claim that indian statues. It would make rural ppl both indian and non indians feel better protected and it would also make those living in town better protected.
But NOOOOOOOOOOOOO the counties and BIA and Tribal like to fight for that power! And that is exactly what it is! A power trip. Who gets to hold what power and how can we abuse it to help my own family out or my own people out. Got news for everyone. If you live in the US and are considered citizens everyone is your "people"!
But the kicker here is, Mr. Chambers. He started that lovely race war down in Omaha when he is the one as a Black Man, to propose segrgated schools in the Omaha District! And it got shot down big time and not just by black people! Well Mr. Chambers has now stuck his nose into a District that isn't his concern! He has propsed on handing over ALL JURISTICTION to one of the tribes on the reservation! And it isn't even the tribe that can manage it's own people, finances, or ethics! It is the tribe who has had some of the worst embezzelment cases via "Tribal Council" members and other "indian gov't officals". They are broke off their asses and are EXTERMLY raciest towards not just non indians but other indians NOT of their tribe! And contrary to popular belief any indian of any tribe can move on to ANY reservation! Not to mention they can not control their own "young Population" and embarss the crapout of their older generations by their behavor!
The proposal or bill what ever Mr. Chambers has proposed for MY District when he is NOT my Senator has already been read once! The first question by not just non indians but by indians not of this specific tribe is:
What the hell is Mr. Ernie Chambers doing sticking his nose into business that doens't concern him? Doesn't Omaha have it's own problems that he helped instigate?
Second Comment and Question is:
Our own district Senator wasn't even aware of Mr. Chambers proposing this bill until it crossed his desk after the first reading! Why was it even introduced via Mr. Chambers in the first place?
Third Comment and Question: If non indian gov't would do something like this it would be considered RACISM! Why the hell is it okay for tribal gov'ts to do this? Is this yet another way the federal gov't is prompting racism in the US?
Fourth Comment and maybe Question: Why NOT introduce a bill or proposal that gives juristiction to County, BIA, various City and Tribal gov'ts and MAKE them work for the ENTIRE county, District, and towns! That would be the most benficial of the power trip!
There is a county meeting for my county for the second reading of the proposal Tuesday night at my county seat. My district is actually about 3-5 counties and one county has already read it and those ppl didn't say yay or nay because the majority of them are white or "non Inidan". But MY county is a very eclectic mix because it is predomintly reservation and it not only has Indian and White but quite a few other races! It would be assinine to allow the Tribe have all the power to abuse non indians with and to strip our county of all of it's money by doing what this specific tribe is well known for: giving only to their specific family members and passing only laws that will benifit their specific families. Even the other Tribe in our county is split over this. If the tribe Ernie Chambers wants to hand over power to gets it, the other tribe will be abused also not to mention their tribal officers handed over jobs that the other set of tribal officers do NOT want to do!
I have both indian and non indian friends going to this meeting to voice their NAY vote over allowing this specific tribe having complete control. I have family going to voice NAY also. And let me tell you, lots of letters, phone calls, and emails are going to be sent to Lincoln; to the offices of our District Senator and to Dumb Ass Ernie Chambers about how this came about! If Chambers would have minded his own business in his OWN district, things would have worked themselves out........like they have for YEARS. At the moment, our county and the Tribal/BIA officers have a tentive truce going on via State with a trial cross juristiction! Certain officers on the BIA/Tribal side are cross deputized for both tribes. I feel safer because County has a bad habit of asking if I am indian if I need to call in. This way regardless of how I answer, I am going to get a response in a decent time period instead of waiting for 20-30 minutes for county to get on the right road and then find my house! The majority of the BIA and Tribal officers already know who lives where regardless of race and can get here FAST!
Can we say this truce of juristiction is going to go up in FLAMES! All over a raciest pig of a man who can't even help his own district!

Okay let me explain a bit here where I live at. I live on the Omaha Indian Reservation and the Winnebago NE Indian Reservation boarders it. My county is all reservation. Okay I can't rightly say that as of yet.........one of the towns that is predom white and stuck up are trying to take it to Federal Court saying they aren't on the reservation and using treaties to attempt to prove their claim but I think they are going to LOOSE! The Santee Sioux Reservation is only 3 and half to 4 hours away. The Yankton Sioux, The Ponca, and a few other tribes all have Tribal offices in Omaha which is an hour and half away to two hours away and in Sioux City IA which is connected to North Sioux City SD and South Sioux City NE......when I say the city I mean these three places cause if you can't find one thing in NE you pop over the river to one of the other two!
Anyway. IHS which stands for Indian Health Services has a hospital in Winnebago NE where my kids go to school, this is the hospital that my mom has worked at for 20 some years and since it is a IHS clinc, hospital and such plus it houses the Tribal programs anyone with a registered tribal card of any nation can go here. The Santee Sioux go OUT OF THEIR WAY to get their tribal members down to Winnebago for treatments, docs visits, and other things because they donot' have a facility like this. My mom works with a LOT of Lakota Tribal members and they are very very upset over this crap about "leaving the US"
Why? Because say good bye to all their free money! Seriously. You all think I am bullshitting you when I say if you can prove that your Indian at least 5 generations back even if you can NOT register you are an IDIOT!
If you can prove that your family 5 generations back (great great grandparent or something liket hat) was a registered tribal member of any federal known tribe, you can take part of IHS system free of charge! I am NOT shitting you! And say you have no proof of registration because your ancestors were hardheaded and fought the US up to their last dying breath you can ask for a DNA test of Tribal blood line out of your own pocket. And then round up family stories and try to find someone in the family that is registered to bakc up your claim. You not only get free medical if you can prove this, you get dental, vision, and you qualify for any of the Fed gov programs available! Tribal would be up to your Tribe and how they do registration!
It also opens you up for more scholorships, tax benefits, and jobs because IHS and any Tribal or Gov't Tribal program and Office take Indian preference. Meaning anyone can apply for these jobs but if an Indian person has the same qualifications as a none indian they get the job! And since a lot of indians take care of their families or are raciest it means even if the indian person applying isn't qualified they will get the job over a none indian who is qualified unless they have someone honest in the office!
Okay now done with the small education bit..........A lot of Lakotas live on and around my two home reservations........andy they are pist! They are contacting their Tribal Elders and raising hell about how they have allowed certain ppl way to much voice in the media to speak for the entire Lakota Nation!
They are so pist to the point a lot of registered Lakota Members in the area are starting to ask the Winnebagos and Omahas to help with housing to get their family members off of the various Lakota Reservations in the states of NE, SD, WY, ND and MT! Which unfortuntally there isn't much either tribe can do. Omahas are broke! They have allowed their Tribal counsel members and gov't employees (mostly tribal members) to steal, embezzel, and run their offices so crappy they are literally broke and in a reverse in histroy where they helped the Winnebagos when they first came to this area, the Winnebagos are now helping in other aspects to keep them floating! Which is funny cause they hate each other around here!
The Winnebagos wouldn't mind helping but they have this tiny little issue that their housing waitinglist is so long that even their own tribal members are wiatiing for older tribal housing to be fixed to get families in them and newer tribal housing to be built to get families in them. At least they are taking a proactive step in trying to fix this issue for the Winnebagos. Tribal members can go through a gov't and state sponsered house buying class and when they graduate they can get 20 thou for either a down payment on a house in or off the reservation or they can build a house in one of the tribal housing sectors with no houses on it. A lot of my age group and my siblings age groups are doing this. Simply because of Ho Chunk Inc now having a housing department!
The word around these two reservations and I guess the Santee Reservation is that you will start to see even MORE Lakotas moving into the area to get away from that crap that Means, Young, and Martin Sr started! which isn't going to be to big of a deal because on our two reservations with the brand new IHS clinic and hospital we see a LOT of other tribes not only from the midwest but from the western, south western, east, and southern states move to the area either on or off the reservation!
