3 plys, no waiting

Toilet-paper researchers create 3-ply tissue

My favorite part of this:

The company touts the toilet tissue as "ultra-soft" and says it plans to market the product to women 45 and older who view their bathroom as a "sanctuary for quality time."

Ok, now, what about men 45 and older, as I am about to shortly hit with a splat?  We don't count?  We're supposed to just use old copies of The Sporting News?  What?

A Day in the Life

A few days ago i was in a cab, being driven home, and we come into a trailer park (not the skanky ones everyone has come to think of, a nice one for older people) and I saw something i would love to paint.

two trailers, with windows, with afternoon sun shining in, both with curtains, one lace, one red, and in the exact same spot, two older women sitting, with curled hair, one red, one blonde (showing the white and thinness of their age) resting their elbows on a chair arm, smoking cigarettes.

i just loved how they were the same. it was brilliant.

anotther thing that touched my heart, was this couple that came in the restaurant and got the same thing. poutine and strawberry milkshake. first i thought it was a man and a wo,man. and they were holding hands across the table and staring into eachothers eyes... and then... i realized it was both women. it made me happy, seeing a lesbian couple together, lovingly, in this city. it was wonderful.

Former Little League star marries older woman
According to a report in the New York Daily News, former Little League star Danny Almonte is secretly married to a 30-year-old woman.

The 19-year-old pitcher was being touted as one of the greatest Little League stars ever to come from New York, but his phenomenal run ended in controversy when it was revealed he lied about his age, subtracting two years, to play in the Little League World Series.

Almonte confirmed yesterday that he tied the knot with Rosy Perdomo months ago.

"She's special," Almonte told the Daily News near the Bronx apartment he shares with Perdomo. "My family is happy for me."

Almonte, who has yet to graduate high school, wouldn't say much about his bride, a former baseball league official who now works as a hairstylist in Manhattan. "I don't want to talk about my personal life," he said.

But Perdomo told the Daily News she and Danny tied the knot at City Hall last October. She went on to say she's known Almonte since his infamous Little League days.

"He always used to tell me things and I was like, 'You're a minor ... we'd get in trouble,' " Perdomo said.

"I really waited for the right person to come along," she explained, "so I wasn't going to just fool around, especially not with someone younger than me."

Snia Rojas, Almonte's mom, told The News from her home in the Dominican Republic that the May-December union has her seal of approval.

"Love has no age," Rojas said.

Almonte is expected to be drafted by a Major League Baseball team in next month's amateur draft.

Almonte was not wearing a wedding ring yesterday, but his Perdomo said that might change now that their marriage has been made public.

Almonte also has a full scholarship waiting for him at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs in the event he goes undrafted.

His coach, Mike Turo, said citizenship in the United States is a requirement for the scholarship and that Almonte was planning to get a Social Security card this week.

Question! Younger vs Older and Poetry!

Howdy howdy all!

Hope the last vacation post didnt bore you too much..It was actually one of my favorites.  Before I get to my next entry on my fabulous vacation I have a question to ask my Mindsay friends.....I usually don't post twice in one 24 hour period but I really wanted to know. If you are looking for pictures of my Enchanted Rock adventure that post is just prior to this one!

And Again, Howdy Howdy all! I have a quick question about relationships and dating in your  thirties. I would love women and men of all ages to give feedback.

First, a question (not exclusive to women but since I am a woman I just said women) for the single ladies, especially ones in your thirties and beyond....

1. Have you found it difficult to meet someone YOUR AGE or in YOUR AGE RANGE to talk to or date or whatever? I ask because lately, everytime I meet someone my age , they are interested in using me for stimulating conversation but then chase much younger women for "intimate relationships". I mean I am not worried that I won't have another relationship or anything like that but I have to say that since my thirties hit I seem to be having more trouble than I used to. Anyone Else?

PLEASE RESPOND WITH ANY AND ALL FEEDBACK. FELLAS PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK AS YOU WILL.

Now I am not saying that every man I talk to should want to get involved with me but I dunno, seems harder to meet a dude who isnt on the prowl for women-girls rather than just women.

Of course I am a Goddess and I suppose that can be intimidating. I mean who wouldnt want to get with all this(* waves hand down front of person). huh, I suppose  there is the possiblity that I am losing my touch---NAH! (I hope you all recognized the humor and did not think that my head was actually THIS large, hehehe)

And sure I like to joke and prank around (as buds of mine know, I like to laugh and play) but I can bring on the conversation with the best of them. Here is where I get the problem, lately people just want to talk literature, social consciousness, religion or politics with me and that's it! (I mean, maybe I am not the super Goddess I see in the mirror----NAH! that cant be it. They are just douches. Douches who are afraid of a challenge right?)

Bah! I dunno. I just wanted to put that out there and try to get some feedback about the situation. Hey, if anyone can suggest where one might go to meet dudes who like women their age, that would ROCK!

And hey I have no beef with the younger ladies! Work your mojo ladies and may you continue to work it through your teens, 20s 30s 40s 50s 60s and beyond. Hmmm, Maybe Dr. Evil stole my MoJo?!

Oh well, how about some poetry...here goes....

Ego Tripping (there may be a reason why)

Ego Tripping (there may be a reason why)

I was born in the congo
I walked to the fertile crescent and built
   the sphinx
I designed a pyramid so tough that a star
that only glows every one hundred years falls
into the center giving divine perfect light
I am bad

I sat on the throne
   drinking nectar with allah
I got hot and sent an ice age to europe
   to cool my thirst
My oldest daughter is nefertiti
the tears from my birth pains
   created the nile
I am a beautiful woman

I gazed on the forest and burned
   out the sahara desert
with a packet of goat's meat
   and a change of clothes
I crossed it in two hours
I am a gazelle so swift
so swift you can't catch me

For a birthday present when he was three
I gave my son hannibal an elephant
He gave me rome for mother's day
My strength flows ever on

My son noah built new/ark and
I stood proudly at the helm
as we sailed on a soft summer day
I turned myself into myself and was
   jesus
   men intone my loving name
   All praises All praises
I am the one who would save

I sowed diamonds in my back yard
My bowels deliver uranium
the filings from my fingernails are
   semi-precious jewels
   On a trip north
I caught a cold and blew
My nose giving oil to the arab world
I am so hip even my errors are correct
I sailed west to reach east and had to round off
   the earth as I went
The hair from my head thinned and gold was laid
   across three continents

I am so perfect so divine so ethereal so surreal
I cannot be comprehended except by my permission

I mean...I...can fly
like a bird in the sky... --Nikki Giovanni

ramblings about love and relationships

The topic of age differences in relationships came up in a conversation
with a family member a week or so ago. His sister (my
sister-in-law) who has been divorced for a couple of years now has been
dating a guy whom I find out is four years her junior. No problem
with that as far as I'm concerned but it seems her brother has a
problem with it. Why I still don't know. He shook his head
as if it were some awful thing for a man to be younger than a woman in
a relationship. I told him I had no problem with it and I thought
it was great if they were in love which they seem to be.

So what is the big deal anyway? Why does it seem okay for a woman
to date/marry an older man but if it's the other way around, there is a
stigma/taboo attached to it. I'm talking about consenting adults
now, not cases like Mary Kay Laterno. That was just wrong is
every way.

The biggest profile relationship I can think of off hand is Demi Moore
and Ashton Kutchner. The media circus that follows them around
just because of the age difference is comical to me. They've been
having this relationship for
quiet awhile now. She's a beautiful woman who happens to be older
than Ashton. What is wrong with that? I say go Demi!!! The
only problem I can see with the older woman/younger man relationship
would be having children if the woman is beyond child bearing years if
the man wants a family.

I honestly don't think you choose who you fall in love with. There are people whom you will have a natural attraction or chemistry with and it blossoms from there. If there happens to be an age difference and both people are okay with it, then who's to say it's wrong. Anyway, that's just me rambling. :D
