O Christmas Tree @ MindSay

My tree is up, and decorated, it's awesome,

I'm into themed trees, so I have white lites, hand crocheted bells, snowflakes, and icicles (all white, with silver glitter)  White and silver angels, and other handmade (by the kids) ornaments, as well as the kids own collections.

Every year various people give the kids ornaments, it's an inexpensive gift that the kids collect, and when they move out on their own, they will have a collection of ornaments to use on their first Christmas Tree

Here is a picture of my christmas tree, I put it up today. I know it is early still, but there is a reason behind me doing this.

 

When I was married, my inlaws basicly bought my ex and I a house, well it wasn't paid for, I was paying the morgage and stuff. The thing was they put it in their name, so when my ex dumped me, I got nothing. So, I lived in an apartment for about four years and it was sorta depressing so I never put any christmas stuff up all that time. I when with my kids to my parents and we just had our christmas celebration there.

 

Like most who talk to me already know, I bought my own house at the end of May, so this is my first christmas in my own house so, I am happy and excited. The christmas tree is a symbol, that I made it on my own and this year, I am going to have my parents and everyone come here. Well, I am going to ask them still, not sure what everyone will think, it has always been at my parents house.

Well here's the demigoddess' tree in all of its glory. It didn't come  out the way I imagined it would, but my kid is quite happy with the results. :D

 

 

At first, we didn't like the way the pine cones looked on the tree and the bow that I bought was too big. I ended up having to make this one.  Since the ribbon was red and green, it looked even better than the solid red one I bought. Now the entire tree is made of handmade decorations. 

 

 

 

 

The husband suggested we try the pine cones again and here's the result.  The pine cones and the styrofoam balls look better in person because the camera didn't pick up the glittery shiny-ness.

Here's a  grainy video of our outdoor Christmas lights. It was about 75 degrees outside when I shot this.  Tomorrow another cold front is moving in. *sigh* I'll be popping Claritin all week.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I know many of you will think I am rushing the season, but I have my tree up because my living room is decorated in Wizard of oz, and so it my tree. And the Wizard of Oz sorta fits in with Halloween, I remember watching the movie on TV everyone around this time. Here's some pics of the tree:

This is my tree without the usual blue lights, beads, balls, and bows, however, I think I like it just as well, or even better.  I did find some neat white and silver bells to add for next year, and I will be looking for more white homemade typr ornaments to add for next year.  I also need a topper for my tree, I once had an angel that I had crocheted, but I gave it away one year, and havent had time to make another one.  A tree needs just the right topper as I believe it tells alot about the person who decorated it.
