My nephew
I posted on Flickr and Facebook, but I wanted to make sure you all saw, too. My nephew was born on my grandmother's birthday (rip) and he is a little gangsta looking child if I ever saw one. He is probably going to have bass in his voice by the time he is 2 LOL Take a look:
The Happy Family

If you click the pic, you will end up in the Flickr album. He has huge hands and feet, so I am pretty sure they should be stocking up on food and things like a ranch owner stocks up on horse supplies. I am pretty sure he is going to grow like a weed. He is already a nursing expert and he is only like 2 days old! I got to hold him for a while, and so did nearly everyone. My son was happy to just snuggle up on the bed with all three of them and play his game. You can see a piece of his hair over on Tony if you look hard. Tony said he was being used like a couch LOL!

I'm an aunt!!!
My nephew was finally born today at 4:21 PM!!!!!

His name is Brayden Christopher and he weighs eight pounds, nine ounces.

He and his mommy are completely healthy. :3

I'm so happy and I can't wait to meet him.

My dad is just tickled to become a grandfather. :]]

spoke too soon
My husband and I just had a chat about my nephew coming over. Now he says to tell him "nevermind". *sigh*

I think I might just lose my mind.

not.happy
I was supposed to get my nephew for the last 2 weeks of this month, which meant that I was supposed to have him NOW. Is he here? No. Okay, so we cut it down to 5 days *this monday through friday* because that is all the time he had left before school started. TODAY I find out that he has to go back on Wednesday night because of some meeting he has on Thursday morning at school b/c he is transferring back into his old school. I am so unhappy and depressed by this that I am trying not to call and just tell him to forget it. I mean, it's not really his fault that he can't stay and a little time is better than none at all, but DANG.

Goes off to cry in the corner

the advent of norphew
How great is modern technology? Here I am in the bathroom blogging on my laptop while I wait for my bikini line depilator to work its magic (way too much information, I know)!

A slight -- well, more than slight -- kink has been thrown into our wedding plans -- my sister, and lone attendant, is pregnant! Which is wonderful, except for the fact that she's due three days after the wedding. For obvious reasons, it's highly unlikely that she'll attend -- travel challenges aside, the possibility of giving birth outside the (mostly free) Canadian healthcare system would, I suspect, be less than appealing to her. Ah, life and thy curveballs! I've actually known for about a month but kept my mouth shut due to the newness of her pregnancy, so I've had some time to process the information. I have to say in all honesty that I wasn't quite sure how to react when she broke the news -- while I'm thrilled at the prospect of becoming an auntie, it was hard not to have a moment's despair over the impact on our wedding -- because maid-of-honour or not, I'd like my little sister to see me get married. And did I mention that her husband, prior to the big announcement, was our photographer? :) Fortunately, it didn't take me long to rationalize that they obviously didn't strategically conceive (oh, the punniness!) to screw up my wedding, and that it will be wicked fun to have a little niece or nephew (or norphew, my preferred label for the as-yet-gender-neutral wee one). While we haven't yet found a new photographer, I'm fortunate in that re-casting the maid-of-honour role was a no-brainer, with my good friend and roommate stepping up to the challenge.

Hard to believe that a creature barely the size of a grape can make such an impact. Still in the womb and already young Norphew owes me big time. ;)
