Neon @ MindSay

LG GT365 Neon
There is a very cutesy design element associated with the LG Neon GT365 thanks to its marketing towards the younger heavy messaging demographic. It incorporates a touch screen with a slide out QWERTY reminiscent of the late LG Xenon. The phone feels somewhat cheap due to the plasticy pastel colored  material used for the body.

LG GT365 Neon Unlocked Tri Band
There is a very cutesy design element associated with the LG Neon GT365 thanks to its marketing towards the younger heavy messaging demographic. It incorporates a touch screen with a slide out QWERTY reminiscent of the late LG Xenon. The phone feels somewhat cheap due to the plasticy pastel colored  material used for the body.  Luckily the good contrast of the pastel blue and gray colors mix well to provide a nice balance. Edges are rounded and holding it in your hand feels natural without having too much weight (3.81 oz).

Doing the Cabbage Patch!
The 1990s was a very conflicting time. It began trying to kick us in the face with its neon colors and big hair only to leave us with a subdued pallete of black & nuetrals to sleek flat hair. We had a lot of fun and would even "Jump" at the chance to "act our shoesize not our age".

Grab your Snapple and get out your New Kids on the Block album and kick it.

Rollerblading is the thing to do. Savannah wishes Pepsi Clear was available at the water fountain and that everything is better with a scrunchi.

The #1 of the top 10 songs of 1992

Now for the fun flashback showtime:

I couldnt pass this up though its not in english.. the ad for Legend of Zelda.

A special treat if you were good... Love the neon colored flashy numbers!

The original Ninja turtles!

Who doesnt remember Pepsi Clear??? @_@

The 90s had soo many styles that it was hard to choose. I could have gone with the Vogue look, tight rolled the pant legs of over-alls or even the Grunge look! I decided to choose something to burn your retinas with. ;)

decades of tends

The ever lovely and talented Erinbear just sent me an email. It was along the lines of "You know you grew up in the 80's or 90's if"

I suddenly feel less than cool.

But, as always, there is a catch. I walk around and watch millions of little Britney Spears worshipping, style stealing teeny boppers, and I have to say I feel a little relieved.

Okay, so I wore neon socks with high top sneakers and I still know the words to Bon Jovi's "you give love a bad name"

But my mother still wears shoulder pads (not as in 'started again when they came back into style briefly' but as in 'never stopped) and she still teases her hair.

I on the other hand, packed away my neon clothes many years ago and have even admitted Doogie Howser was not the hottest thing ever and Will Smith looks so much better now than he ever did on Fresh Prince. (and to those of you who are around my age, you know how hot you used to think he was on that show)

I have also realized that the youth of the new millennium have very little to call their own. They are stealing styles from all the different decades, most of their music is remakes of older songs or dangerously similar, and even their slang is recycled.

My mother may still be wearing shoulder pads, and I may have gone many years waering neon spandex, but no one can say we were unoriginal.
