Women with long fingernails !

Recently I had an occasion to have breakfast out which I do frequently and I saw a women and her daughter enter and be seated after me. I happen to look over and what I saw actually made my skin crawl. This woman had some of the longest fingernails I've ever seen, they looked like claws. These nails had to had been 3 inches long maybe a tad longer. They were so long until they actually curved onder. Now I ask you is this necessary? I watched her use a cell phone with her knuckle, writing was a chore I noticed also. I mean this to me, just the sight of those nails made my skin crawl. I thought women were a thing of beauty, thats why God made her different but this is a bit much, I'd say.

I'm not a sexist and don't mean to sound like one, but I think about this womans safety on the job and her employer. What do clients of her employer think about her nails, are they offended, is she a safety hazzard a liabality? Does she have to be especially carefull so as not to break them and injure her hands ? Is she a risk to her employer or herself, does she compliment her job with nails like this ? How does she perforn her household chores, washing, ironing, dishes, cooking  without being a hazzard. Why would she want nails that long in the first place ?

How would you react to seeing someone with 3 inch painted fingernails like this, or would you have a reaction or have any comment ? I wonder ? I personaly found them offensive to me, they put me in mind of an animal or rather large foul. She's not the first I've seen with those nails, I had the same feeling the last time. Maybe its just me .....

Painted Nails
For some reason I can put my link here and it does not work but you can access site by clicking on the link in bookmarks.

Been adding and working and getting a headache but getting it fine tuned finally.

Thinking its time for breakfast / lunch and some time away from this screen.  Wondering what it would be like to have a DSL connection ... instead of dial-up.  How would I act if it didn't take 20 minutes to upload a picture (exaggeration) .... I just don't know.

I need to get caught up with you all in here .... my reading has fallen behind the last couple days.

Honestly can't remember the last time I wore any kind of nail polish on my fingernails but thinking it was when I was dealing cards in Reno .... 26+ years ago.  But I had bought some Wet & Wild clear nail polish to use on the bracelets (use on knots for more security) and last night I got the urge to put some on.  As I sat on the bed painting the nails, I hear Dave (who is laying next to me) start sniffing.  I'm like "nail polish" .... he's like "huh?" ..... "nail polish" .... "oh".  With a quizzical look in his eyes .... I'm  like "just a whim" .... "oh".  Now today it is driving me nuts .... lol .... I keep get fleeting glimpses of things shiny and then realize its my nails.  And they feel heavier ... really.  LOL  Are you not glad I shared all that .... ?  LOL

Alright .... I gotta eat something .... stomach says so.

Hope this Wednesday is finding everyone well.

Peace.  Julie

not so endearing habits

I have a habit of not always flushing the toilet if all I did was urinate. I do it on purpose to conserve water. My husband finds this a loathsome habit. This came up because yesterday the plumber got a peek at the unflushed toilet and when my husband told me I laughed and said,” he probably thought you were the one who didn’t flush.”  And so we got into a humorous ( or some might think humorless) discussion about each other’s not so neat habits. Here are  the most uncensored results:

Me: I clip my fingernails anywhere. I pick my nose and don’t always wash afterwards unless I am cooking. I don’t flush when I pee unless it is at someone else house. I put my feet on  the table.  I lick my fingers if they get food on them. When I clip Abi’s claws I don’t hunt and throw away the tips. My car usually has trash in it. I leave shoes all over the house. I will wear the same teeshort I slept in all the next day. I dont shave  under my arms.

His: He reuses a kleenex after sneezing. He doesn’t always treat a toe fungus. His toothbrush often has bits of food in it. He leaves beard hairs in the sink. He dribbles pee on the floor in front of the toilet.  He doesn’t believe in washing out his bathroom water cup. He uses the same bath towel for weeks. He never washes his combs. He has been known to eat spoiled food so as not to waste it. He never rinses the tub after use.

Good thing we love each other so because lesser humans might have killed each other by now.

my fingers are finally okay
it has been more than a week since i took off my acrylics and now i can finally touch things without wincing. if ever i say i want to get my nails done again, please remind me of this pain and convince me to get press ons instead LOL honestly, this is some kind of ridiculous. i think i am going to stick to cute little pedicures when i can afford them.

in other news my nephew is here and i couldn't be happier.

i havent wanted to drink any wine in like 3 days... which is something.

pray for my dad's eyes. he had surgery on them for cataracts and is having a few subsequent complications.

and i leave you with one of my favorite morbid songs:

i did my own refill
I decided against paying 16$ for another refill and opted to do it myself at home for 6$ instead. They came out pretty nice. I, of course, couldnt find my all important 4 sided file/buffer so they aren't as great as they could have been. They actually look pretty natural.

I also got a new mirror and some of the shining hair polishing stuff that Myclette recommended to me when I was in TX. The way I am going with hair products, I am going to need two bathroom sinks so I can do my hair just once! At least I will look FIERCE.
