Yes, you read that right. We always have an afterparty when the baptisms are over. There were so many kids getting baptized and a good number of adults. The service lasted about 2 hours. My nephew, thinking he is slick, told me the service started at 6pm. Come to find out, HE had to be there at 6. He knew that I would come earlier than that (around 5). Needless to say, he got his wish and we were able to spend some quality time together before the ceremony. He was soooo nervous and adorably hilarious. He put on Nacho Libre and kept playing the part where the friend of Nacho got baptized. It was weird to watch on a wide screen plasma inside a non-
plasma mount entertainment center. The wood kept distracting me from the movie. LOL!
So, he left us at 6pm and we arrived across the street (they live next door) at quarter to 7. He was the last guy to be baptized, but his testimony was a tear-jerker. He had prepared this five minute speech to give. I videod it, but I won't post it here. I only recorded it so my husband could see it when he got home from work. Anyway, the boy did great and he was very happy to see me, my mother, his mother, his grandparents, his aunt & uncle, his cousins, and so many of his friends there to support him. Even though he left the afterparty early, it was still a great evening and I am proud to be his Ti-Ti.
