My Birthday @ MindSay

Well, well, well. Yesterday was my mother's birthday, which means we are headed into my favorite season....my birthday!

 

Officially, it is only 18 days away--I know that seems a little OCD, but we are fast appoaching my favorite day of the year and I want you all to have time to shop (imagine me winking at you as I say that).

 

So here's the skinny: I am throwing myself a birthday party again this year. Since my friends are so varied (both in location and how I know them) I am just going to do it at Ray J's (formerly Awada's).  Just a very informal gathering for cocktails (food, too, if you like) I plan on being up there by 8:00pm and will likely close the place down. I will accept no baby excuses this year! Get a sitter, leave your hubby/wife home with the kids, whatever it takes, I want a good turn out this year. Sony has promised not to agree to work for Darren that night (sorry D) as she has done for the past five years....so if she can make it, so can you!

 

Okay, details will follow in an email format (for those of you who aren't dedicated readers like Jason...who is welcome to drive down from Big Lake- "it's only like 45 minutes").  But for now, mark your calendars: Saturday, March 15, 2008....Olivia's Birthday Bash.

 

Also, please check back soon. I will be posting a quiz about me in honor of my birthday, it should be up in a day or two. I am thinking the winner will get a drink on me, or some such thing, at the Birthday Bash. Unless the winner doesn't show-though if you know me well enough to win an "all about me" quiz, you damn well better be at my birthday party. (that was said with pseudo-seriousness...)

I am 37 today!

My dog, Minnie, woke me up at 4:30 am...squeeking at the door to go outside. I took her out, front porch light burned out and all...and she wouldn't go down the steps. So I brought her back in. She started squeeking again and I turned on the tv.

Toy Soldiers (Sean Astin, Will Wheaton and Keith Coogan) was on. They are mostly older than I am, but they were so young in that movie. It was strange and fun.

Like coffee with ice cream in it.


After that, an infomercial came on and I put in the movie nearest to the vcr (that's what I have in my room, a vcr).

High Fidelity.

John Cusack is a man I will always adore. And he will always be older than me. :D

Minnie has gone totally back to sleep now.

By the way, the guy in High Fidelity is a hoarder.

I had the best night of my life with this woman and our friend Jessica. It meant so much to be with some of the people that meant the most to me on My 21st Birthday. Including Candace, even tho we aren't together now.....She is still one of my best friends and I still love her dearly. The meaning of her being there with me will be more special to me for the rest of my life than she will ever know

I want this to be the summer (or the year) that I learn to laugh my ass off.  Truly laugh my ass off.

So- it's my birthday today. And I am offcially 18- and legal (to do almost anything I like in this country). Yay for me! My day was extremely awesome. Bennie (metal- fling-boy..) gave me an extremely large smooooch and i got the coolest digital camera...heehee- I'm happy about both!!

 

So much happened- but I will post a larger blog later.. as this is just an update. The real partying only starts tomorrow- although I'm already smashed on some cheap red wine now as a result of my father's "Education plan" for my 18th birthday when we went out for dinner earlier this evening. According to him- I have never experienced alcahol to it's fullest- so tonight was my chance... hahahaha!!

 

So cheers to the start of my adult life.. it feels like it's started off great already!!

 

 

Oh.. and I have finally decided to pursue a career in the film industry... KACHING!!!
