Theme Song Girl
It is not uncommon for me to find some joyful tune that captures some element of what I believe in, live, or embrace.

It might be a musician thing. Or an artist thing. The problem is the way we see, or experience - no one else can see it the same way, have the same emotions evoked. So, we try, and try, and try to get it right. Music is a language of straight emotion - without lyrics, it's only communicating emotion (or, given some of what we call post-modernist, a lack thereof blended occasionally with elitist confusion).

I'll do it with other things, too. I try to compare my hidey-hole to the feeling of fur brushing against your skin. I recently decided that I wanted to see if I could come up with a combination of jelly-bean flavors that translated to what I thought kissing was like[1].

And today, I ran across Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole." And if I was ever going to make an entrance as a supervillainess, it'd be to this song.

I am not by nature a villainess. When I'm not overwhelmingly stressed out, I'm kind of a happy-go-lucky explorer with an interest in playing with cats, dogs, and small children. I see much of the world as either a place to play, or an adventure, and I tend to be very interested in humanitarian efforts.

I just like, sometimes, to wear a lot of black. Capes are optional, but delight me. I also have a deep and abiding fondness for fedoras, but I have yet to figure out how to make one work with the rest of the outfit. And sometimes I just like to play the part, y'know?

Also, let the record show that sometime around Valentine's Day, there was a singles auction on campus to benefit St. Jude's. And I still really wish I'd elected to be part of it. Had I done so, I would have used THIS as my song to walk onstage.

Although, frankly, it might not have worked as well as perhaps playing up the 'shy innocent' side of this personality. They say to play what you know.

[1] It involves a lot of cinnamon, some cherry and strawberry, and a little bit of cotton candy, among other traces. The result: Success! (A friend with a wealth of kissing experiences separate from my own[2] has tried this, and agrees with me, so that's extra points to me, I believe.) :D

[2] I don't exactly have a wealth of kissing experiences. I figure that in some situations, it's much better to consult an expert.

EDIT: I am now disheartened. Apparently this song came into popularity because it was used in the Twilight movie. I'm rather opinionated about Twilight. Sighhhhh.

Supermassive Black Hole
Ooh, baby don't you know I suffer?
Ooh, baby, can you hear me moan?
You caught me under false pretenses
How long before you let me go?

Oh, you set my soul alight
Oh, you set my soul alight

Glaciers melting in the dead of night
(Oh)
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
(Oh)
And the superstars sucked into the
(You set my soul)
[into the supermassive]

I thought I was a fool for no one,
But, ooh, baby, I'm a fool for you
You're the queen of the superficial
How long before you tell the truth?

Oh, you set my soul alight
Oh, you set my soul alight

Glaciers melting in the dead of night
(Oh)
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
(Oh)
And the superstars sucked into the
(You set my soul)
[into the supermassive]

Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole

Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
(Oh)
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive
(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
(Oh)
And the superstars sucked into the
(You set my soul)
[into the supermassive]

Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole

Bit of a change in character, perhaps.

But, if I were ever going to walk onscreen/onstage as a supervillainess, it would be to this song. Or, any villainess outside the bounds of reality, really. I don't think I count Harley Quinn to have superpowers, so, something like that.

Or, on a more realistic note, if I'd done the charity singles auction we had around Valentine's Day here on campus, I would have used this song. Come onstage to THAT. Hah.

Yes, for the record, this is not my usual character. Every person has some capacity for a dark side, every cloud has got a little light....I'll post that sometime, maybe.

A testament to the dancer - I can't hear this and NOT want to do the walk to it. Said walk involves an absolutely fabulous pair of boots that are not in my possession at the moment, but I can dream.

  • hot drink
  • midnight internet sessions under warm blankets
  • pre-sleep cigarettes on the wall, watching my cat freak right the hell out

Modern Day Dandy
I think I'm a "Dandy".

It hit me today when I was in the mall, I go to the mall as much as fourteen year old girls. I think my outlet is fashion, I'm constantly concerned about what I'm wearing and how I look. I dress to impress and I cringe when walking on the street and seeing another youngster wearing a Keffiyeh.

I don't think this is a bad thing, when I evolved out of my hoody, baggy jeans, messy hair and old sneakers style and started taking more care of myself, more people noticed. Hell, I think more people payed more attention to what I said then, maybe I gave off a "Wow Chris looks totally different now, I like that he took more of an interest in how he looked and carries himself."

My personality is a bit flamboyant too, I mean grow up in a house full of four women with no father and maybe it'll happen to you too. Body hair is a no-no, I think I'm the only guy I know who actually shaves their armpits. I also have an addiction towards skinny jeans, I'm a 140 pound guy and I think it shows off how nice my legs look. SJ get a bit of flack now-a-days but I can't go back to baggy jeans, and even regular jeans make my legs look fat -_-.

I think my confidence allows me to push boundaries like that, I'm sure my egotistic values help a lot too.

I don't want to change, I'm having too much fun, I want be more sophisticated... more refined...

To stop cussing, stop smoking, have higher education, work on my spelling, master foreign languages, work on my drawings, fix my lousy body language...

"Self improvement is masturbation"

There's jack squat to do in this town besides go to the movies, mall, skatepark or be stoned on drugs 24/7. I haven't resorted to drugs just yet, maybe my fashion thing can really be my hobby or my muse.

None of my girlfriends or female friends complained when we go to the mall together.
