There are two proposals in energy technology that are fascinating me right now. One is a technology to collect solar energy in space and beam it to earth in a wireless fashion. The other is the proposal to make roads solar energy collectors.

But if we develop the ability to store and deliver energy without wires, then why don't we just fit our cars to collect all the energy they are absorbing and creating (both solar and kinetic) and beam them to collectors in the road as well? Makes sense to me.

Revamping My Life

There are some things that I'll have to change in order to balance this school / work / motherhood thing. 

 

1) I have to go to bed by at least 11:30 pm! I know every year I vow to go to bed at a decent hour, but this year it's absolutely necessary.

 

 

 

2) I have to change my diet. I need to eat foods that will help me utilize more energy and I'll have to eat more "brain food".

 

 

3) I'll have to make sure I get myself together the night before. I have a habit of trying to do everything 15 minutes before it's time to leave for work in the morning. PROCRASTINATION ISN'T AN OPTION!!! I don't have time to procrastinate!

 

 

 

4) I need to calm the hell down.  No one can function when they get keyed up. 

 

 

 

 

 
 
 

   
It is a marathon, not a sprint.

It is exactly one month today that I started exercising again.  I have lost 19 lbs.  My goal was 20.  I was just one friggin' pound short.  Funny thing is, I weighed after I worked out and I sweated that one pound off.  I do not count that though.

 

To be fair to myself, the first week was only a three day work out week and I drank beer for the weekend.  The second week was a four day workout week and I drank beer for the Saturday night and Sunday night.  The third week was a good one, working out five days and limiting the beer to Saturday night.  Last week was o.k., working out five days againg but drinking again Sat. night and Sun. 

 

This weekend will be different.  My best friends mother died and I have a funeral to go to tonight and the burial tomorrow afternoon.  There will be no beer consumption at all this weekend.  But there is more motivation for me now which I will go into at another time.  I really want this weight off.  I think with the fact that I cannot drink any beer tonight this will help me next weekend.  All I need is to find something to do next weekend to take up the time.  I hate being bored here at the house.

 

Since I have started working out I have to admit that I really do have more energy.  I still cannot believe it.  I never thought it was true when I heard about it when I saw all of those commercials on t.v. but it is true.  I get up now at around 2:30 in the morning so I can do some ab and chest work and then hit the treadmill and elliptical.  I get home sometime before 5:00 and drink a ton of water and then start some coffee.  If I have chores to do, like I am washing some clothes right now and then the dishes, I do them.  Then I watch some t.v. and at 6:20 I do some stretches and get ready for work.

 

Saturdays are a day off for me diet wise and Sundays are a complete day off from working out.  I will eat what I want, sortof calorie cycling, but I will not go overboard about it.  I with not being able to consume some beverages this weekend the caloric intake will decrease dramatically (which I hope is a good sign for next week!). 

 

This is working out well for me.  I have a ton more weight to lose but so far so good.  I know in the long run that if I keep this up the weight will go.  It is a marathon, not a sprint.
