Checking my Yahoo! News today led to an interesting discovery, Minneapolis is ranked as the # 1 most literate city in the United States. Yahoo! The survey has been conducted every year since 2003 and Minneapolis has always been in the top ten, but finally, this year, they managed to knock out Seattle and grab all that numero uno glory to themselves. Also, our great capital of St. Paul nabbed the #3 spot.
I like to think that as a librarian in the Minneapolis area and also in the St. Paul area, I played a part in accomplishing this fine goal. (patting self on back)
