Haggard believes in the Third Wave of the Holy Spirit and accepts the Five-fold ministry, beliefs often associated with the Charismatic movement. Haggard has been the Senior Pastor (and founder) of mega-church New Life Church in Colorado Springs, CO. Haggard has recently stepped down due allegations of homosexual trysts with an individual known as Mike Jones. The allegations also include the usage of meth utilized to heighten the sexual pleasure.
Haggard denies it all, Jones says he has proof. As of today Jones has been reluctant to release his proof to the public.
For the homosexual special interests the allegations have to be a boon to exercise ridicule on Haggard. Haggard is considered an active Christian Right kind-of-guy being pro-life, pro-Christian in politics and anti-homosexual.
The typical Christian reactions to these kinds of allegations is “to crucify him” before proof of truth or false accusation. As long as Haggard denies the allegations, I am behind him. He did the right thing to step down until an investigation by an accountability overseer process is finished. Haggard has stated stepping down will add integrity to the findings of the investigation.
Just the other day, Mr. Z had a few choice words to say about Mike Jones in Art & Tech, and, quite frankly, I agreed. We have come to the conclusion that he has the IQ of a banana peel. It seems he can't remember his own name unless he puts it into a song about 20 times. He also must be the lonliest person on the planet, because he put his own phone number into one of his songs. I wonder if anyone actually ever tries to call him.
