Mcdonalds @ MindSay
But the sad thing is, so many people do. Grown adults. About 9 years ago my parents saw this infomercial with this guy selling a juicer. He was talking about the benefits of drinking pure fruit juice and how meat is bad because it is dead & whatnot. That I have no problem with. But he also said that beef specifically is the worst, and that it stays in your body for years. THAT is what you call rediculous. Food doesn't stay in your body for years, we have stomach acids that break things down. So after seeing that, they decided that our whole family wasn't going to eat beef anymore. For I while we believed it, believe that that's why we all only took a dump every 3 weeks. But that wasn't the reason. You know why that was really? Because we ate fuckin' McDonalds every other day!! And that's proven to be damaging to your health in a short amount of time. Of course if you eat out alllll the time, you are not going to be in good health, and might have stomach problems.
That was right before we moved into our new house. When we moved there, my mom stopped working so she started cooking more. We also didn't have money to go out to eat all the time anymore because of the mortgage. So in turn, our general health improved. I don't think it had anything to do with not eating beef.
In 4th grade a friend of mine invited me to her house, and I ate this sausage sandwich with an unknown meat in it. Later on my stomach hurt so bad I couldn't sleep. We deduced that it must have been beef. Now I'm thinking that they either didn't cook it thoroughly, or they were dirty.
One time in musical we hadn't eaten the whole day, and this girl brought in some beef sausages. I ate them because I was hungry, and guess what? Nothing happened! My parents have been telling us for years that if we go back to eating beef our stomachs will hurt because we're "not used to it", which makes no sense. If that were so, we wouldn't be able to eat new foods. But anyway, that was the first time. Then I was at my uncle's house and they had beef burgers on the grill. I decided to eat one, nothing happened. I told my family about that, they kept harping on it forever, and said it was nasty, when meanwhile they're eating pig, chicken, & turkey all the time. What's the difference? So then me & my grandma got some beef hotdogs. Then I saw that she had this slab of London Broil in the freezer, and it looked sooo good, so she made that about 4 days ago, and it was. And the icing on the cake, the MOUSSE on the cake, the confectioner's glaze, it makes me smile ear-to-ear as I think of it, the next day I got a Big Mac. It was one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted, maybe because I hadn't tasted it in almost 10 years.
All I know is I keep thinking about it, which only goes to show, banning something is never the best route to take, it's much better to use moderation. I plan on getting another one as soon as possible, without my parent's finding out (yeah I know I shouldn't give a fuck, but you know how that is).
What they don't say is that the acrid fumes from burning baking soda (at least, that's what it felt like) burn the lungs.
They also say that putting a lid on the fire is good. But if one cannot safely do so, there are few options left.
It is good to learn these things while still having one's house intact. I am deeply thankful. Even though everything smells like smoke. Even though my bread was completely destroyed (it wasn't in the oven at the time, but rising). Even though I smelled like smoke all during CR's Very First School Play.
It started harmlessly enough. Just roasting a chicken. Same way I always do. Exactly the same. And I roast an average of 45 chickens a year. (Yep, just fewer than one a week.) I have never had one start a fire.
Of course, when a chicken does decide to go all End of the World on me, it had to be on a day that we were also preparing for the Very First School Play. For the boy who is scared unto death of fire alarms. (They have replaced those in his classroom, if you'll remember, with a slight chirping sound because they cause him severe trauma that lasts for weeks. Oh goodie.)
So. Smoke billowing out of the windows. I shut the oven to asphyxiate the flames. This was good, except that smoke kept roiling out of some weird hole in the oven into the kitchen anyway. And then, idiot that I am, I would open the oven after seeing the flames were out...only to have the breath of fresh (?) air bring them back to life.
Did I mention all of this was happening while we were getting ourselves in a good mental place for a play? Did I mention that I was wearing a lovely white cotton dress with white embroidery?
Windows open, I got the boys out of the house, of course. Cyclone took his freaking-out little brother for a tricycle ride down the street while I endeavored to get the situation under control. No more flames. I called Spousal Unit and he was an hour away. He had no further advice so I advised him that I would be taking the boys out to dinner. McDonalds. I hate McDonalds but for comfort-after-mom-set-the-kitchen-on-fire, it's a good thing. Me, I had a Coke.
Spousal Unit cleaned the mess in the kitchen (oh, the lovely mess of ash in the vague shape of a chicken, the burnt baking soda, the grease-smoke-stains on the stove and oven surfaces) and reminded me, when I called, that my loaves of bread were still ready for baking.
First thing upon arriving home, CR checked the oven and was pleased to find it All Clean. Everything still smells like smoke so I've got the windows open (it's humid, but I don't care) and fans on and I plan on spending my entire day washing everything to get rid of the smell.
By the way, Cartoon Ranger did a GREAT JOB at his very first school play. :) He was adorable. Of course. :)
And, thanks be to God, he had no nightmares last night.
Today is Friday. A brand new day. In which my hair smells like smoke. It could have been much worse. God is gracious to his rather silly daughter.
But I still have to do my own washing.
Ok so yesterday I went to this Superior Youth Festival at the Waterfront aka the Marina.
What it was, was a free 8 hour concert with all local youth bands from town.
Except sadly there werent that many people there.
Except for 2 people I was hoping to get away from. Cassidy. and Amber (long story short, shes crazy and only cares for herself).
Well it was so ackward. Shes acting all friends with me right? and she knows how i still feel for cass. Well I look behind me and there she is sitting on him and theyre just laughing away. Ok whatever let them laugh, but she was ALL over him....and he acted like nothing was wrong! Same with when he would talk to me. Im like wow buddy...
Anyways the music was pretty good. Me and stef went for dinner to Mcdonalds with this guy Alex and his friends from the band Twist of Fate (not that many of you would know them lol). And man those guys are quite good looking and they acted normal around us to which is always nice.
anyways sorry for whining, I dont like whining to my friends because Im just not like that, so I do it here seeing as this is practically like a diary to me lol.

If you DON"T ASK for condiments, they will NOT offer them to you. Got mcnuggets for my kids today, and they came with NOTHING - not even ketchup.
Then, if you ask for "too much" - they will charge you. Like 10 cents for a package of sauce.
That's a sad way to make (by saving) money...
I was going to go get an application from Mickey D's....then I was going to return the advanced french tapes and get beginners...and last but not least get the movie Requiem for A Dream.
Well, I woke up at like 1 o'clock and talked to Marty for maybe 3 hrs haha. Silly I know. Then I pedaled my ass toward Blockbuster not realizing until I was halfway there that I didn't get money out of my account. So I said screw it because that was a long ride and the seat on my bike just hurts my bottom way too much. So after that I just walked to the library and back nearly passing out.
I think it may simply be because I wasn't hydrated, I'm on a menstrual cycle, and due to the fact that I'm newly vegetarian....I'm not getting enough protein so I'm getting tired easier. Or this can just be another wake up call that if I don't get on the right track I'm slowly going to become a fat-ass.
