Twelve o'two in the A.M. It is officially Easter, so Happy Easter to all you Christian folks out there.

So, I was looking for some good pictures depicting Beltane (the next pagan holiday coming up on the first of May) and I happened upon this bit of a play/movie which may be The Wicker Man, I'm not sure, but it says:

It's May! It's May!
The lusty month of May!...
Those dreary vows that ev'ryone takes,
Ev'ryone breaks.
Ev'ryone makes divine mistakes!
The lusty month of May!

When I read that, suddenly it hit me so obviously why May is considered International Masturbation month. It never even crossed my mind before, even when sitting wondering why May of all months. Duh! For anyone that does not know what Beltane celebrates, I will elucidate a bit.

Many people are farmiliar with this day as May Day. Many are also familiar with the maypole. For those of you who are not, again, the maypole is a pole stuck in the ground with ribbon or whatnot tied at the top and.... let me just show a picture...

Everyone holds a ribbon and dances around the maypole. It's an ancient celebration of fertility.

Beltane celebrates passion, fertility, sexuality and life renewed. The maypole is a symbol of the Great Rite, or sexual union of the Goddess and the God (the pole is a phallic symbol of the God and the earth is the Goddess - the pole is placed in the earth).

Ever wonder why the hell you decorate and play "hide and seek the eggs" on Easter? It makes no sense, right? Pagan. Eggs are a symbol of fertility, as are rabbits, hence the Easter Bunny.

I'm not going to say much more about Beltane, as I'd like to save anymore information (which really isn't much... the general gist has been gotten here) for a post more near to the holiday.

Anyway, so yeah, it makes sense to me now why May is the month of choice...

I am here with my marilyn having fun at her house. I came and spent the weekend with her and it has been a pretty fun one in fact.  Yesterday I guess I ate something that didnt agree with me and thismorning I woke up, went to the bathroom, and threw up.  It was not cool what-so-ever.  I have to say besides going to the bathroom, throwing up is one of the top discusting things that humans do.  All day I havnt felt good and its not cool, but I havnt been letting it destroy my fun day here with marilyn.  Today is Beltane and it is a holiday on the first of may to celebrate the coming of spring/summer.  We went and got flowers and scatterd them around the yard, for the luck of rebirth.  We made lei thingys and put then on our heads.  We wore broom skirts and so on.  We got to dance around a maypole, it didnt work out to well because un named people wouldnt do it right T_T Uh... so me and marilyn played with it ourselves >.< we got dizzy.  We slept out in the sun for a bit before we did the maypole and played with Mr. winky the cat .
