ABOUT RAYMOND E. FOSTER
Raymond E. Foster was a sworn member of the Los Angeles Police Department for 24 years. He retired in 2003 at the rank of Lieutenant. He holds a bachelor’s from the Union Institute and University in Criminal Justice Management and a Master’s Degree in Public Financial Management from California State University, Fullerton. He has completed his doctoral studies in business research. Raymond is a graduate of the West Point Leadership program and has attended law enforcement, technology and leadership programs such as the National Institute for Justice, Technology Institute, Washington, DC.
Raymond has been a part-time lecturer at California State University, Fullerton and is currently a faculty advisor and chair of the Criminal Justice Program at the Union Institute and University. He has experience teaching upper division courses in law enforcement, public policy, technology and leadership. Raymond is an experienced author who has published numerous articles in a wide range of venues including magazines such as Government Technology, Mobile Government, Airborne Law Enforcement Magazine, and Police One. He has appeared on the History Channel and radio programs in the United States and Europe as subject matter expert in technological applications in law enforcement.
His first book, Police Technology is used in over 100 colleges and universities nationwide. He latest book, Leadership: Texas Hold ‘em Style has been adopted by several universities for course work in leadership; by several civil service organizations and required reading for promotion; and, has been well received in the wider market.

POPURI'S PREGNANT!
Today's Sunday lunch was comprised of chicken - which made a change to beef. Nana used what was left to make sandwiches for tea. I fucking love cold cooked chicken, it's amazing. :D
I'm on a streak with my farm - I've gone from 61% to 70% - I've been spending all my money buying cows and sheep - and then proceeding to give them weird fucking names.
I've called one of my cows BUBBLES for fuck's sake. :)
I'm also growing massive quantities of vegetables and earning masses of money. I've finally worked out some decent strategies for this. I've also decided to get the Harvest Sprites in on the action - they can brush my animals. If I'm going to end up with 20 of them - I REALLY won't be fucking arsed to brush all of them.
I still have to go around and talk to them all though. And it helps if I milk the cows before they do. The stupid twats don't even use the cheese maker - so they're losing me vital money, damn it!
And I'll have to tell them to sod off in Autumn - either that, or leave my best sheep outside. I want to enter her in the sheep festival - and no sheep shall ever escape the vile clutches of the CLIPPING SHEARS.
And in other news - Shelly, my first cow has won the Cow Festival.

But the thing that amused me the most was Popuri discovering SHE WAS PREGNANT.
I pissed myself when the dialogue box popped up.
Now I'm going to have to think of a name for the spawn.
Tee hee, just imagine the perecentage I'm going to get for having him. :)
It's a bit strange though - my character's name is Dixie, and my wife is Popuri.
I couldn't even combine the names, because I then end up with names like PIXIE AND POPPIE.
PMSL...
I'm pondering with names like Vito, Dean, Ashley - etc etc.
(Don't ask how the fuck those three names relate - I just seem to think they'd all fit nicely.)

I recently posted that Mars and the Moon would be close enough together to be seen as if it were going to look like two moons. It has since come to my attention that it is NOT TRUE! My apologies for inadvertantly being a part of this misinformation.
Planetary News: Mars (2007) Not This August, or Any August! Mars Will Not Be as Big as the Full Moon

August 14, 2007 In what seems like an August tradition, e-mails and web postings circulating around the Internet say that Mars will be brighter than it has been in thousands of years, and that it will look as big as the full Moon. Neither of these statements is true, although Mars will be very bright and easy to observe during the fall and winter of this year. The origin of the rumor is presumably linked to the fact that Mars was indeed closer to Earth than it had been in tens of thousands of years -- in August 2003. But even during that close approach, Mars appeared as a point of light in the sky.
While I do want to fight misinformation -- I still want to remind you to look up! We shouldn't need an excuse like "closest approach for 60,000 years" to look up and see the planets. Right now, Mars rises in the middle of the night in the east, but it will become visible in the evening sky and will get much brighter as we approach opposition at the end of the year. And, Jupiter is the brightest star-like object in the evening sky.
Here is more information about Mars viewing in 2007:
- In 2007, Mars will be closest to Earth on December 18.
- Mars never appears large enough to be more than a point of light to the naked eye, and certainly not coming anywhere near the apparent size of the Moon in our sky!
- In 2007, Mars will be significantly farther than it was in 2003, but closer than it will be at its next opposition in 2010. In December 2007, it will still be nice to see as it will be about as bright as the brightest star in the sky, but not nearly as bright as Jupiter or Venus.
- Because of the combination of Earth's and Mars' orbital periods, Mars and Earth grow closer every 26 months. Even then, they are still many tens of millions of kilometers away from each other.
- Martian close approaches vary a lot in brightness because Mars' orbit is much more elliptical (less circular) than Earth's. So, sometimes we are "close" to it when it is in the part of its orbit that is nearest the Sun, and sometimes when it is farthest in its orbit from the Sun.
- Mars was indeed closer to Earth in the 2003 close approach than it had been in tens of thousands of years, but not by much compared with approaches that happened tens of years ago.
- Mars will be about 16 arcseconds across during the 2007 close approach, which is about 9 arcseconds smaller than in 2003. But, the disk will be clear in almost any small telescope. A nice amateur telescope should allow you to see at least a polar cap and some light and dark markings on the surface

Planet Mars is coming closer to the earth and will be the brightest planet in our night sky starting in August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. It will maximize on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.
