Y tu foto cuida

A alguien que dejaste

Perdida en el tiempo

Music full of tunes echoes in your home

Chimeras flow towards the sky

Where the clouds fight with each other

To bring the rain to the land of dreams

As your memories float in the

Morning dew

And the palm trees sway in the breeze

Your footsteps resound throughout your home

Telling me what to do

Guiding me through the path of life

Every moment I breathe

In the house

Where your picture looks

After the affairs

Of someone lost in time

Left on this earth after your departure

Capitu

Capitu is developed from the promise of Mrs. Gloria (Eliane Giardini), mother of Bentinho. After losing a child, she swears the next heir to a priest. Even to assist, Bentinho will study at a seminary, where he knows Escobar. When they leave the seminary, so he is lawyer and is home to Capitu. Escobar becomes dealer and is home with Sancha. The couples maintain strong ties of friendship, but Bentinho is tormented by jealousy. The fatality marks the life of Escobar, who died drowned. The friend's death further increases the torment of Bentinho, who believes in view own son, Ezekiel, the image of his friend.
Certainly tragic: Capitu not betrayed or betrayed? Capitu reaffirms the doubt in this Dom Casmurro as part of the cultural process of modernity. In his time, Machado has emerged as a breakthrough, with a new proposal aesthetic and intellectual, of extreme modernity on the season and the very literature that was produced in the country and the world. The writer has put a formal text with modernity, without giving up a sensitive reflection on the facets of the human soul.
Dom Casmurro not a mere reproduction of the customs of an age. In addition to bringing the contradictions of the social world of the nineteenth century, the text goes beyond these issues, addressing topics such as the passage of time, awareness of the finitude of things, love, friendship, betrayal of the doubt and also the tragic, all that without giving the irony and humor machadianos.
Even today, and at any time, the story of Capitu happens in Copacabana, Sydney or New York, with people of all ages, classes and races.
With a modern and timeless language, the series tells the story of the intense love between Bentinho and Capitu, the question of Pope Benedict Santiago have been betrayed and that certainly leads in terms of imagination. It is precisely because both instigate the imagination of its readers so far that the work Sun Casmurro continues in motion, giving life to Machado. The series Capitu therefore conclude that modernity, continuity and the immortality of the doubt on the betrayal of Capitu.Anyway I'm loving it so much that I'm reading the book and watching the same microsserie time. Then are some pictures of Capitu in adult life interpreted by the wonderful Maria Fernanda Candido.

Yummy Yummy

While Maria was spending her quality time weekend with her Daddy, she tried pudding for the first time.  I think it goes without saying that she absolutely loves it!  Soter kept calling it chocolate..."You want chocolate?"  They had it the first time after lunch on Saturday.  When she woke up from her nap later that afternoon she marched herself over to the fridge and asked "Daddy, chokit?"  Shortly after that she had her 2nd cup...of course Daddy couldn't deny her.  I was able to witness her delight last night, after her bath.  I asked Soter if he was crazy giving her chocolate pudding after a bath and all he said was "watch."  I've never seen more care taken while eating, ever.  She took smaller bites, made sure the spoon was clean, licked any missed pudding off her fingers, swiped her tongue around her lips and chin as far as she could.  There was no way she was going to let any of that pudding get away.  It was so funny to watch.  I think she might like it more than ice cream!  It certainly put a smile on my face.  And then of course Mommy swoops in with the "learning" portion of the evening, teaching Maria that it's called pudding.  Not smart, the rest of the night we heard "more. pooning? chokit pooning?" LOL

In other news, she's mastered the open cup!  She was doing well a while ago, but Mommy dropped the ball and she has not been practicing much at all.  Yesterday at every meal she used an open cup, and she did wonderfully.  It took her a few tries to figure out where her lips go, but she got it and by dinner she was slamming down milk left and right.  Hooray!

Maria has caught on to apologies.  A fe weeks ago we were in the grocery store and I turned my cart wuickly not knowing there was someone behind me.  I said "Oh, I'm sorry" and we moved on.  A bit later in the trip we were "parked" next to another cart in an aisle and we appeared to be right in front of waht the woman was looking for.  I said "Oh" and before I could get anything else out, Maria said "I sorry!"  the woman smiled, I giggled and we were on our way.  Last night Soter was playing with Rizzo and things were getting crazy.  Forgetting herself, Rizzo rammed into Maria sending her to the ground.  Maria stood up and said "I sorry RB!" and went back to playing.  She's getting it!

Having the upper hand.........

Ok, ok I'm sure everyone is sick & tired of hearing about my saga with my dear friend "Forrest".  This very well may be the end of my "crush" on him.  He's a great friend & confidant.  We have intelligent conversations, we have friendly debates & air our opinions. However he charms women & when the novelty of a woman wears off he loses interest & the cycle continues.  He likes the thrill of the chase & says once he gets it he just loses interest.  He says it's the excitement of learning about & finding out about someone new (and probably getting a piece of ass).  I think I'm finally seeing that he's not the type of guy I would want to be with.  Now he's being extra friendly with me, seems jealous of my other half (asks if "he's" around, won't mention him by name), and calls several times a day.  Maybe it's just that now he may be interested I lost interest.  It's good to see him squirm a little.  Hah! I feel victorious - I have the upper hand now! I'm listening to some songs by Maria Mckee.  One in particular reminds me of him.   It's called "Can't pull the Wool".  I especially like the lyrics:  You have no fear.  You got the mirror baby, you got a good tailor.  You have no fear.  You're not afraid of losing or being left alone.  That suit you're in fits you to a tee.  But you're waltzing round a landmine if you think you're bluffin' me.  Listen, you say you know how it feels baby, but you don't know what it's like.  And you can't pull the wool over the little lambs eyes.  I've learned a little bit about being hard.  I can see you, I can see you baby.  Ever poised for some eternal snapshot.  Well I know you, you needn't worry baby.  I won't blow your cover, I'll tell 'em what you got.  I won't blow your cover, don't sweat it out.  But you can't pull the wool over the little lambs eyes.

I love him as a friend, but am disgusted by his behavior when it comes to women.  He doesn't become emotionally attached to them, it's purely physical.  How can he be such a great friend but be such a jerkoff too? I'll never know, but I feel enpowered that I overcame this thing because it was making me miserable.  Saga ended.....................
