Mardi Gras @ MindSay

Are we done yet?
After a crapload of unnecessary drama and bullshit that had NOTHING to do with my Grandma...I was finally able to say goodbye to her.  We had her funeral today at 3pm, while the rest of the town was celebrating Mardi Gras.  It seemed fitting, somehow.  I remember sitting in the van with Momma and looking down the street where the parade was, and thinking, "You know, I get the feeling Grandma planned it this way, so she could go out in style."  lol

I miss her.  We all miss her.  But her time came.  Now her and Pa can be together in heaven for the rest of forever.

And in regards to all the other b.s., it can bite me on the buttocks.  I don't even care.  I mean, my grandmother died.  Most everything else pales in comparison at the moment.  But now I'm rambling, and I have homework to do, so I will bid you all farewell.

Thank you again for all the kind words and well-wishes from everyone.  It really meant a lot to me.

New Orleans

We finally got a load out of New Orleans with extra time to deliver it, so off we went downtown. Here is a video of some of the bands and sights.

Just a quick update

You know, I had my hands on the wrong keys while typing the title, so it originally was "Just a qyucj yodate".  I find that really amusing, for some reason.  =P

But anywho.

Guitar Hero rules my life now.  And it shall be so until further notice.  Just thought you all should know that.  :p

Falling in line behind that are (in no particular order) :

Final Fantasy XII (ps2)

Big Brain Academy (ds)

Ico (ps2)

Final Fantasy III (ds)

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)

But mostly Guitar Hero.  ;)

I play left-handed.  Which is kinda weird, because I'm right-handed.  But if you think about it, it makes a certain amount of sense.  First of all, I don't play the guitar in real life, so "this is how a guitar should be played" doesn't occur naturally for me.  Also, being a gamer for most of my life, usually the joystick/control pad is on the left-hand side of the controller, and the other buttons are on the right-hand side.  And those of you that have played Guitar Hero know that there's five fret buttons at the top and one strum bar at the bottom.  So in my gamer mind, that translates to, "Hey, these five buttons should be on the right-hand side, and this one strum bar should be on my left-hand side."  So there you go.  I am actually trying to train myself to be somewhat ambidextrous, though, since my wrists start to hurt after a while.

I'm thinking of renting Red Steel.  Yes, everything I've heard from anybody that knows anything about that game says that it sucks.  But I wanna rent it anyway.  And if it does suck, what have I lost, right?  It's worth a try, I think.  And while I'm at it, anybody got any other recommendations for the Wii?  Me and my brother got one for Christmas (well, a couple weeks after Christmas, but you get the point), and I'm just wondering if anybody else has one and can suggest some cool games for it.  (We have Twilight Princess, of course.)

Well, I must be off.  I'm headed home for the Mardi Gras weekend.  (And if I can get my camera working again, I'll do another photo-blog like I did last year. :D )

See y'all later!!  =D

Stop Press!
Whoops! I screwed up folks. Remember a few entries back I said, "Fundamental Christian groups blamed the 2004 Tsunami on the mass of unbelievers and heretics in the Pacific Southeast. So where's their explanation about mother nature ripping the Bible Belt a new one? Personally, we believe it's mother nature starting her own religious reconstruction." Turns out I blabbed about things I know nothing about. Yep, I've been proven wrong!

The wonderful group known as Columbia Christians for Life set me straight. Turns out this entire hurricane was really "God's judgement." Indeed, the fetus-shaped eye of the storm decided to level this once beautiful, exciting "wicked city." Indeed, the big guy in the sky thought it was a good idea to flatten New Orleans to teach us all a lesson. After all, if those dirty New Orlean'ers hadn't supported "child-murder-by-abortion centers," "drunken homosexuals engaging in sex acts in the public streets," and the "exchange of plastic jewelry for drunken women to expose their breasts" this whole catastrophy could have been avoided.

So shame on you, citizens of the razed New Orleans and any who participated in any "public celebration of sin." This is all your fault. Go now. Hang your head in shame, those of you still alive, and pray. Just be thankful "New Orleans is now abortion free[...], free of Southern Decadence and the sodomites, the witchcraft workers, [and] false religions."

Alright, biting sarcasm aside, please tell me, if you're a Christian, that you are now outraged that people like this say these sort of horrific things in the name of your religion. Please tell me that you don't believe this. Please tell me you understand how nature works in its unpredictability and that this is no ones' fault. Also, on a side note... the French Quarter, home to most of these "wicked" acts, is about the only part of New Orleans that made it through the hurricane without too much trouble.

And people wonder why I'm atheist.
