I am thinking this, so I thought I would jot it down here for you to comment on.
I am in love with words. If I did not have words, and any of my faculties, which enable me to use them, I would be of girls most miserable.
There are so many ways to use your mouth, your words, your tongue, and they are not always for the good. I can put out scathing, deriding, downright wounding remarks that would cause one to practically jump out of my way in agony, as sure as if I had thrown a dagger thru their heart.
Or I can choose to be uplifting, encouraging, and unjudgmental, causing my words to fall like a soothing, healing balm on the ears (and on mindsay, eyes) of the listener (reader, lol).
Sometimes words can analyze away a situation, when all one needs to do is keep quiet and lap up the moment, like a sponge soaking up water. Then, one will be left with the memory to mull over, to write about, to speak about in those words which one held back before. Then, and then alone, may you squeeze the sponge over the ears of your listeners, causing them to feel the moment, as it was when you were experiencing it, causing them to wish they had been a fly on the wall, feeling with you as your words aptly describe the surroundings, the activities, your feelings.
Then, there are times to stand up and stake your claim in this life with your words, for to hold back would be to deny yourself your right to have and to hold onto that which you hold dear. Stand up, tell those who have intimidated you, have hurt you, have watched you give in to their tactics, that you are a strong individual and have the right to make choices for yourself and what is best for you. If we have not used our words to this potential, then we have only half used them and will never be free.
Words liberate and give a freedom, if we are willing to be vulnerable with a strong, yet, humble spirit. My words are me; how I use them will ascertain how I am, and what I am willing to be. I am an American; I choose liberty, what do you choose?
