This is for my sister Vida, it's her birthday and I always forget. Happy Birthday!!!!
My sister Vida is wonderfully warm, incredibly giving and loving to a fault, and I'm so lucky and happy to have her as my sister. Her name, Vida, in spanish, means "life", and she is full of life. There's never a dull moment around her. She's the life of the party, the belle of the ball. She got the dimples in the family, and that's a good thing, because she's always smiling and loves to laugh. Don't ask her to tell you a joke though because that is one of her few flaws, she's a rotten joke teller
She's 15 years older than me, so she wasn't my "playmate" as a child, but she was always doing something goofy to make me laugh. I recall playing a game of hide & seek with her, and she snuck back into the house and dressed up with a scary clown face and crazy wig. When I finally found her I'm pretty sure I lost about a year off of my life. It took her forever to calm me down, but now, I remember it fondly. I also remember the time she got her first car. It was one of those really ugly 1970's station wagons. Poo brown, hideous interior, you get the picture, but it had lots of room, and she'd pile her friends in it and cruise the neighborhood. One summer night I was allowed to ride along. Someone down the street opened up a fire hydrant. All of her friends chanted, "Drive through it, drive through it." As she drove towards it, the kids playing nearby ran over to the pump, and held the water so that it would spray up & over us. I was only 5 years old, how was I to know you were suppose to close the window! I was soaked to the bone, and Vida and another sister, tried to sneak me past my parents when we got home. Busted! My mom was mad about me getting wet, and my dad was mad about the car getting wet. Good times, good times. I've had many other adventures with Vida and they've all been an absolute blast. I just wanted to let her know how much she means to me. VIDA, I LOVE YOU & HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
