Love My Job @ MindSay
He finally called me back regarding the job in Northampton. We talked on the phone for over half an hour, and it was amaaaaaaaaaaaazing to catch up with him. I have missed being around him and laughing with him. I am NOT a phone person, but that was one of the easiest calls of my life; and it flew by. I don't know; we've just always gotten along so well and it was great to hear his voice and his candid way of describing things.
Here's what we know so far:
He was offered the job in pre-k, and then he was told NOT to sign that contract, because there was a spot working with a 1st grader with autism (probably Robert). Well THEN they said, 'no, don't take that, there's a spot at the middle school' and it turns out, the job is with A, which would be amazing because he knows A, and A knows him, and he knows all of A's little things. So he took that job, and then got a phone call that there's a woman at Mohawk who was offended it wasn't offered to her. So they're meeting tomorrow to talk, because he's not sure the woman realizes all the bathroom stuff, and how he might "grab girls boobies" and stuff. So they're meeting. And he said, "I told them a girl I work with has a potential job for me in Northampton, and they said, 'we don't want to lose you!' but if the dick me around too much... I'll call you tomorrow".
O.M.G. How amazing would it be to have Parker in my classroom for another year? We work really well together, and he admits my K-5 set-up is banaaaaaaaaaaaaanas, but having him there... it would be a huge mental health thing for me. HUGE. And good for morale, and good for my boy-laden class to have a male presence (we had a good laugh about when they'd asked me about my last para, and I said that he and I had gotten along well and they said, "oh, he was a man!?" and I was like, "Yeah, he would be a man").
Trying to not get my hopes up too high...but also printing out an application for him anyway :).
I'm Joe Dirting anda saying, you can't have 'no' in your heart.
Started training for the "Photoshop" job. It's actually minimal Photoshop use, but it's still awsome. First thing after I clocked in, my new boss, who I'll call Gary, took me around and introduced me to all 30 or so of our Corporate Accounts people. That was something I wasn't really expecting. Everyone was very nice, and reactions ranged from a casual wave to 'Oh good! Phil needs you!' (Phil seems to be my year-round counterpart, and has the station next to mine) A couple of the guys who were out when I met everyone even came by later to introduce themselves.
So I spent three hours with Gary & Phil, then I was supposed to go back out onto the floor for the other 5 hours of my shift. It ended up being about an hour and a half. It was so slow they ended up asking for volunteers to leave early. Works for me.
On my way home, I called Kisa, who was at her sister's place in K-Falls. This is the sister who's giving Kisa and The Alpha her baby. Paperwork has been started for temporary custody, so baby (and mother, don't ask me why) have to be moved ASAP. This means I get to haul my ass clear over to K-Falls, pick up a woman I hate, a baby she doesn't know how to care for, a cat that may or may not cooperate, and as much baby stuff as we can cram into the car, then drive another 5 hours or so to drop everything off at Kisa's. Good thing I drive a big car. Especially since it's storming like MAD around here, and we may need the 4-wheel drive to even get to K-Falls. So I think all that will happen Saturday, we'll stay over up there that night, and come home Sunday, since I have to be at work at 7:30AM Monday morning.
Checked the mail on the way home, found the yarn I ordered and the DVD's we bought all in the mailbox, so that was cool.
Shady ran to return some cans and get tobacco, and while she was gone the power went out in the whole neighborhood. Pitch-ass dark. Apparently, lightning hit a transformer or some damn thing, so the power was off for an hour or so. Good thing we had candles and such on hand. However, since the power went off before Shady could make her purchase, she had to go out again after the lights came back on. Worked for us, since the Grams called to say that my new work pants she bought me had arrived, so Shady ran by there while she was out. Grandma also bought us four new bras that just came in a day or two ago, so that's nice. The last time I bought new bras was Black Friday, 2006, so we needed them.
Oh, and just for general information, NaNoWriMo has gone by the wayside. New job, changing hours and trying to get at least one knitting project done in time for the holidays simply does not leave enough time to write a novel this month. Maybe next year when there's not quite so much going on at the same time.
We're watching Clue. I love this movie.
Here are some pictures of my knitting project.
The initials of the person the blanket is for.
I love this shot it really shows the color changes in the brown yarn.
**END EDIT**
15 mins before time to leave I take a call
and its so idiotic that it makes me love my
job all over again.

This quiz makes me feel boring. Don't read unless your brain is melting our of your head in boredom. And even if it is, it'll just continue the melting process. Probably make it faster, too...^^; Silly wastes of time...

Hey world -I have a real Teaching position now. I teach 7th and 9th grade Science! Earth Science and Physical Science, both two of my favorites. I was called on Sept. 5th shortly after that Marty Robbins thing. Luck or Blessing, I don't guess. I know. It is God. Only He could tailor fit a position to me such as this. So I've been teaching since September 11th, and loving every minute of it. I love my School, I have good students and the Staff is Outstanding! So I am busy, too busy to blog, too busy to clean my own house it seems... I've always wanted a house keeper, hmm....
Sorry, I'll just check in here as comments are emailed to me. There's papers to grade, tests and study guides to formulate, grade quick to set up, Rock and Mineral labs to look over, etc.
