Love My Dogs @ MindSay
Pictures that make you go awwwwwwwww...ok maybe not you but I do. Anyway, the first picture is Grammy L (dad’s mother). I would have never believed it until I saw it for myself, senior care homes actually allow dogs to visit. Now dad’s mom has and always will love dogs, which is great because he thinks he is as many large dogs do a lap dog. I cannot tell you how many times he has jumped into legs too small for him and chairs not ready for his weight.
The second picture is actually him at 4 months. Who would have thought that cute little wonder would eat my laptop battery cord or cost his mommy mucho dinero to go to the vet. I think I took him almost once a month for the first 6 months. Runny nose, off to the vet. Hard crap, off to the vet, of course the vet loves us (hmmm wonder why)
The third picture is actually me trying to get him to do the awwwww when he was 8 months. I will refrain what it appears he is thinking. Smokey has a mind of his own. He hates to be laughed at, do not believe it I have the marks to prove it. He hates to be denied a seat in my lap every now and again. He hates when I am crying in fact he will come up and lick me until he is once again biting me because I am pushing him away. I know what you are thinking, he sounds crazy and he is. I love every crazy thing about him. Smokey and I share the same birthday and even though he was a surprise to me, I think he knows he was meant for me and me alone
Finally yet importantly is Grammy Brewer (mom’s mom) now I mentioned before that my father’s mother has always and will always love dogs. Grammy Brewer...she is another story. If he does not have a t-shirt, she complains about the hair. If he visits the other people that live in the nursing home, she has a fit. If he attempt or even looks like he is about to groom, himself she will scream. I know Grammy loves Smokey and she makes sure everyone knows every chance she gets ”now baby when he dies your going to give him to me and let me stuff him"
Yep those are my two Grammy’s and my owner Smokey...just a few reminders to me of how happy my life is and can be if I take a walk back down memory lane.

This is just a short list of the many duties dogs are able to be trained to perform. As opposed to cats, they are useful, indispensible animals working hard with man to make the world a better place. Now what about cats?
Nothing! I defy anyone to give me one equivalent example of something cats can be trained to do which improves life. I don't believe it can be done. On the contrary, cats are useless lazy animals serving no other function than to catch rodents and spread disease throughout the homes in which they live.
Dogs stay on the floor where house-pets belong. Cats are everywhere. From the floor, to their shit-boxes, to your bedding, to the counter where you prepare your food. If you are a fan of filth save yourself the expense of cat supplies and just sweep your floor and then gently sprinkle the contents of the dustpan over your bed, your furniture and your food preparation areas.
Dogs interact with their active, social owner/masters. They are happy when you return home and want to play. They love to learn and want to please. A dog can be trained to swim, play frisbee and share other enriching activities with you. They will protect you and your property and warn you of intruders.
Cats ignore everyone. They are inactive and antisocial like their owners. They are disinterested and oblivious to everything. A potted plant is superior to a cat. A dead potted plant is superior to a cat. A pot full of nothing is superior to a cat. Plant your cat in a pot of rich soil and maybe your home will cease to stink of the stench of litter and cat filth.
My very large Irish-Italian family all believe the best cat is a flat cat. I believe we shall prevail and the world will one day be catless.
Repeat after me: Cats suck! Dogs rule!
Over the weekend I learned that I do not like wet caves. I didn't think it would be too bad, I love the coal mines in West Virginia, we tour one of them every couple of years when we go there forteh Family reunion. But this cave in Iowa, that was a differant story. Very low ceilings, like about 18 inches above the egde of the boat for long stretches. Some beautiful things in the cave though, in the areas where we could sit up in the boat. Glad the tour only lasted 30 minutes. Went into town to see the towns reinactment troup doing their local history skits. Very interesting. Loats of blanks fired. Joey loved the noise and flashes.
We discovered that Joey loves dogs. Several dogs there at the campground. However as much as he loves them, he is scared to death of them. By the end of the weekend though, he'd get close enough to touch them if we were holding him. I guess we'll have to make sure he sees more dogs in the future. What a child!!!!! He slept well in the tent, much better than I did.
