Time to update, but first, a few lists:

Hello everybody! I am well aware that I am on my way back to Philly from my last trip of the summer without having done any updates since my first trip in Kansas. Well, I'm going to attempt to fix that. There's a lot of stuff that went on that is very personal to me, and with respect to those involved, I'll make those entires private.

But first, I have a few lists on mind. I've learned a lot from my trips this summer and it has inspired me to want to go many other places before I settle in one place for a while. I would love more than anything to take a roadtrip down to FL since I have a lot of friends living there too. If anyone is interested in being my traveling companion, please do not hesitate to let me know!

I also have a lot of things I have decided to do in preparation for NTI and while at NTI.

Why am I listing things on here and not in a word document?

Well, when I came home after Kansas, my computer crashed. Yes, crashed. I lost everything. 13 years of poetry. So I figured, if I just publish my photos and write everything in blogs from now on, I won't lose them, right? Ok, well, hopefully. So here goes.

Places to explore in America over the next year:

-Chicago, IL (hang with Grace and her friend)

-Minneapolis, MN

-Indiannapolis, IN

-Missoula, MT

-Gorham, ME (Starlight Acting Institute retreat)

-Dallas, TX (Michael Chekhov tecahing certification)

-Seattle, WA

-Nashville, TN

-Atlanta, GA (see Isaac and my cousin)

-Tallahassee, FL (see Sarah)

-Pensacola, sp?, FL (see Will, Adam & Morgan)

-Orlando, FL (see my Aunt, uncle & cousins)

-Miami, FL (see Michelle and Kyle)

-Sarasota, FL (see Jeff F.)

-San Diego, CA

-San Fransisco, CA

-New Orleans, LA

-----Doubt I'll see them all, it will really all depend on if I know anyone from here and flight costs, car, etc. So yes, PLEASE get in touch with me if either you'd like to meet up with me there, let me sleep on your floor, carpool with me and/or travel with me!!

Stuff to do in prep for, and while at NTI:

-Stop dating, seeing boys, all together, no sex, making out, nothing. I need to get back to being in love with my craft so that once again, it's all I need.

-Write in a journal, a physical, non-blog, microsoft WORD one. Pen & paper.

-Bring lots of sweat pants, a space heater, and PB&J fixings

-snail-mail.

-not think about what to do after graduation

-allow myself to be fluid regarding myself being open to change.

-GET MY FREAKIN' HOMEWORK DONE.

-get my wisdom tooth pulled.

Syracuse stuff...

-See Timmy, Kiel, Mike, Caleb, Lea, Joanna & the neighborhood kiddies.

-Hang out with my family, drink with my sister.

-Roji, Strong Hearts, & the rest of the vegan places I never took enough advantage of.

Philthy stuff on the 2 days before I leave...,

-Horizons w/ Tommy

-Johnny Brenda's for The Armchairs show and a goodbye-to-me celebration-please come! Friday night!

-Govindas! W/ Varga boy.

-BIKE BIKE BIKE BIKE

-As many museums as I can squeeze into my short time there.

-The Last Drop, everyday, possibly twice/day/ Going to miss that place.

-Call PECO, get them to stop billing me, & change my address with the post office.

Ok-I'm sure this will adjust, but that's it for now!

The place will land in about an hour. I'm sitting inbetween two dudes... mroe on that later.

Sommerloch
Genau was ich schon immer mal machen wollte.

Greetings Greetings from the West Coast

QUAKE WATCH #2!!!!

So let's get started. It was about November or December when my buddy Vincent gave me a ring and said "Let's just fucking go to LA." I was like sure why not. So after a month of house/job hunting and another week of goodbyes I was on the road. Drove 15 hours to Savannah to begin the journey westward. Savannah was, as it always is, amazing.  Even for the three days I was there. That was when the Twilight obsession began. (Thank you Rachel and Mila.) So we packed up the house and dogs and hit the road.

First stop (somewhere outside of) Pensacola, FL. Weird. That's all I have to say. Next day we were headed to New Orleans. After about 14 hours of driving we were dead ass tired and skipped the New Orleans route, headed through Baton Rouge and ended up in Winnie, TX. Once again, weird. I must give a hot shout out to Mobile, AL for being an awesome little city in the DIRRRRTY South.

Next stop, BIRTHDAY in Austin, TX. Fucking sweeeeet! Great young hippie town. Met up with our good pal Karina and headed over to Trudy's for some Fried Avacado and Mexican Martini's. Hands down the BEST food I have ever tasted, so if you're in Austin hit that shizz up! Chilled out at her place for the night before the long drive across Texas the next day to New Mexico. Said "See you soon!" to Karina (she now lives here in LA) and headed out. After having breakfast at WhatABurger (more like WhattheFuckdidIjustEat) we were driving through San Antonio. Didn't get to spend much time there because we still had many a mile to go that day.  Several hours later we were driving through Selena land or El Paso. Again, weird and a little scary. About an hour later we arrived in Las Cruces, NM. Yayyyyyyyyy! Fucking gorge! Oh I left out Ft. Stockton, TX.

10 a.m. and we're back on the road. New Mexico, stunning and bizarre. Let's talk about the man wheeling a 15ft. crucifix down the highway in the MIDDLE of the damn desert, and the wild pigs chillen in the cactus. I know. Arizona was beautiful and the sunset was unbelievable. So we decided to stick it out and go straight through to LA. Hours and mountains later we see the lights of Los Angeles. Home Sweet Home.

Now we finally get to our new home and its 4:30 a.m., raining and freezing. Um, I thought LA was supposed to be hot? We can't find the damn key but the back door was opened so we claim our rooms and go to sleep. Next day my girl Marsha takes me to do all of the touristy shit like Hollywood and all that jazz. Eh, glad I got it out of the way.

So let's fast forward a couple of months and jobs.....

I am now an angry Angelino working in none other than Hollywood. But it's all good because I have an awesome job and super cool roommates. I now begin my rant.

TEN THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE EAST COAST.

1. Pizza

2. Bagels

3. Mass Transit (Trains, Subways, Ferries, Cheap Taxi's, etc.)

4. New York

5. My Family/Friends

6. Rain (I know kind of strange)

7. People that have taken some sort of course on driving.

8. Diners

9. Getting my hair done for free.

10. NOT HAVING TO PUMP MY OWN GAS! (What's up JERZ?!)

I know that people from Los Angeles hate New Yorkers that "come to LA and bitch about how much cooler New York is" but I mean I never hear people from LA move to New York and whine about why it's not as great as LA.............

So San Diego rocks, I was only there for one day but hot damn did I love it and it is wayyyy stunning out here. I mean the scenery is so beautiful and I am sitll amazed everyday when I am driving up the hills into Hollywood. Runyon Canyon is my jam. So I am confident that it is not all of California that is out to get me. I also have to give a big shout out to my roommates for really making the best of it out here. That's the advantage of being a dorky theater kid and living with other dorky theater kids. You're never bored. There is always a Silent Western film, 80's remake Music Video, or photo shoot to do. And also we are all musicians, well basically everyone except for me, so it's nice to come home and hear someone sing their heart out at the piano or bust a rockin' tune on the guitar. (and the occasional bang on the cowbell, yes there is one in the house.) So I am beginning to see why fate has brought me to South Holt in Ladera.

Another thing that is pretty sweet is I am 5 minutes from the beach. Venice Beach. Which yes I know it is touristy and all but I love that it still has it's charm and some original members. If you are from New Jersey it is the Seaside Heights of Los Angeles. Guilty pleasure?

Here I am now, sitting in my FREE queen sized bed (that's a whole other post) tired after working 10 hours and speaking broken Armenian (again, a whole other post) with my head buzzing. I have somewhat exhausted my obsession with Slumdog Millionaire so I am moving onto City of God. Go filmmaker roommates for having great movies all the time! So that's it for now I figured I would try to bring you all up to speed and I am sure I left out important details but I will be sure to include in future posts. Goodnight and pump a fist back in Jersey for me.....not your gas.

Much love,

E

Week that was & Greetings from Cali
G'day out there in cyber space. I just woke up and felt the need to finally do a quick update. It's currently just after 9AM here in Los Gatos, California. For my body it means it's really just after 10AM (Boulder time). I got into town late evening on the 1st, so I have only really been here one full day thus far. It's a very very nice area, ridiculously wealthy. I won't go into too much details about that (that's what google is for), but let's just say that the only 3 car dealerships I saw in town only sold cars that were in the six figures.
I'll recap last week (not in the typical fashion though as I'm pressed for time). Last week's training was overall a good one. Lorraine wanted to experiment with my peak or rather finding when I'd peak in a mini 4 day cycle. So last week's mileage was VERY low for what I'm used to.
Last week = Week # 42, March 23rd - 29th
I woke up on Sunday and felt very sore from the previous day's workout (really the 6 x 150m fast sprints). So my Sunday long run was rather short @ 11.50 miles or so. Monday was an easy hilly run of 11.50 miles or so as well. Tuesday (while still sore) we headed to the track and did a light workout of 3 x k. The pace wasn't supposed to be fast and thus I avg about 2:51. Lorraine asked me to take Wed off and I did. I felt way to full of energy on that day though, but I knew that we were experimenting with a day off in the middle of the week to see the results. I like that Lorraine can think that far ahead and experiment now for things that we'd like to have completely nailed down later on in the summer/year.
Thursday itself consisted of an easy 7 miler and 6 x 100m strides on the grass. I was far too sore (STILL!!!!) to do anything too quick w/ them and just ran them at about 15 sec or so. Friday I was allowed to run more of my typical daily avg and ran an easy 12 miler @ South Boulder Creek Trail. After that I ran 3 x 200m on the track where I was told to FLOAT the 1st 100m and then pick up the last 100m. I ran 27,26 & 26 seconds.
Finally on Saturday we had planned a quick workout. Just 1 x 2 mile in a time trial type situation. The goal was 9 mins. I felt pretty confident that I'd be able to run around 9 mins and if all went well -without killing myself for the effort- be able to run anywhere between 8:50 - 9:00. Well that was not to be the case. We (we as in BOULDER) had unreal winds. Lorraine and Harlan would later go on to tell me that they thought I'd call it quits somewhere before (or maybe after) the 1st mile, when I was already behind the pace and visibly struggling against the wind. The thought never crossed my mind, instead I kept thinking, "Well I'll have to run the next mile in xyz to get this time." Later with 1/2 mile to go when I saw I'd need to run a 1:56 or at least sub 2 mins I thought, "Well why not I haven't gone this fast yet but let's give it a go..."
Needless to say I came home in a 9:30 and it was the toughest 2 miler I had ever run. We found out later that we had 46 mph wind gust, and I felt every single mile per hour of it. I was very upset by the time (not effort) and thus Lorraine decided that we better try another one, since the time didn't reflect my true fitness. I didn't really think I could do another because (A) I was tired from battling the wind (both physically and more importantly MENTALLY) & (B) I just flat out felt frustrated by the effort and wanted to call it quits for the day.
Lorraine drove me up up and a ways out of town (between Lyons, Boulder & Longmont) to do the next repetition, where I'd follow her car and stop when she stopped along a looong stretch of dirt road. I got pretty stiff in the car while driving with her and could barely keep up with her at first when we got out and were warming up. I kept trying to push the negative thoughts out of my head. She sent me off and told me to just stride out the 1st mile or so and see how I felt. To be honest if it hadn't bee for Lorraine I would've def called it quits. Eitherway it went much better than the first. I ran a 9:15 for that 2 mile and the effort didn't feel anywhere near as tough as the 9:30 fist effort. I also ran it rather evenly through 1 mile. The splits were 2:20, 2:20, 2:23 (I stopped because I thought Lorraine said I was done, and didn't realize I had 1/2 mile to go) and 2:12 last 800m.    So there you have it that's basically the training from last week. I hit 65 miles and felt rather sore for the 1st part of the week. Now I'm in California and looking forward to getting in some training down here as well as lacing up the spikes and starting my 2008 Olympic Journey.
I'll try and do another update soon. My good friend: Steve Sherer (who I'm training and staying with) can't remember the password for his wireless internet, so I have to use his lap top. Meaning that for the time being I've brought a lap top that's essentially a giant paperweight in my bag pack. The guys are still sleeping now but when they wake up (hopefully soon) we'll go for a nice run in the Redwood Forest in Santa Cruz. I'll definitely take my picture as it's truly a beautiful place. I was there once in 2001 when my then college team and I came this way for the Stanford Invitational.
Well I must get going. Thanks for stopping by and having a (hopefully) quick read of things.

Peace & Love

-Rob
