We can only pray that Drew gets the jail time for her immature & malicious intentions towards poor Megan Meier. This case will set a precedent for those who wish to pursue charges against their predators for INTENTIONAL INFLICTION OF EMOTIONAL DISTRESS.
Predators often do the same things Mrs. Drew did - use false identities, lure vulnerable persons into online relationships, smear them, bully them and discard them - leaving adult victims with serious PTSD and other problems.
In our opinion, Megan Meier was a young girl who deserved a lot better than being set up and yes -- pushed to suicide by a remorseless person like Lori Drew.
REMEMBER: The Courts & Prosecutors INITIALLY said "THERE WAS NO CASE." But Tina Meier (Megan's mother) and people like us - the bloggers, who the press tried to smear as a "cybermob," kept after this case.
Victims - NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE UP PURSUING JUSTICE!!!!!!!

MISSOURI WOMAN INDICTED ON CHARGES OF USING MYSPACE TO 'CYBER-BULLY' 13-YEAR-OLD WHO LATER COMMITTED SUICIDE
The woman posed as a teenage boy who feigned romantic interest in a 13 year-old girl, who later committed suicide after the "boy" spurned her and told her, among other things, that the world would be a better place without her.
Lori Drew, 49, of O'Fallon, Mo., was named in a four-count indictment returned this morning by a federal grand jury. The indictment charges one count of conspiracy and three counts of accessing protected computers without authorization to obtain information to inflict emotional distress on the girl who, because of juvenile privacy rules, is referred to in the indictment only as M.T.M.
The indictment alleges that Drew, along with others, registered as a member of MySpace under the name "Josh Evans." Drew and her co-conspirators then used the Josh Evans account to contact M.T.M. and began what the girl believed was an on-line romance with a 16-year-old boy.
In taking those actions, the indictment alleges, Drew and her co-conspirators violated MySpace's terms of service that prohibit users from, among other things, using fraudulent registration information, using accounts to obtain personal information about juvenile members, and using the MySpace communication services to harass, abuse or harm other members.
After approximately four weeks of flirtatious communications between "Josh Evans" and M.T.M., Drew and her co-conspirators broke off the relationship. Within an hour, M.T.M. had hanged herself in her room. She died the next day.

Any adult who uses the Internet or a social gathering Web site to bully or harass another person, particularly a young teenage girl, needs to realize that their actions can have serious consequences."To become a member of MySpace, individuals are required to submit registration information – including name and date of birth – and have to agree to certain terms of service that regulate their use of the Web site. Among other things, MySpace terms of service require prospective members to provide truthful and accurate registration information; to refrain from using any information obtained from MySpace services to harass, abuse or harm other people; to refrain from soliciting personal information from anyone under 18; to refrain from promoting information that they know is false or misleading; and to refrain from posting photographs of other people without their consent.
The indictment alleges that Drew and her co-conspirators violated all of those provisions.
"Whether we characterize this tragic case as 'cyber-bullying,' cyber abuse or illegal computer access, it should serve as a reminder that our children use the Internet for social interaction and that technology has altered the way they conduct their daily activities," said Salvador Hernandez, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI in Los Angeles. "As adults, we must be sensitive to the potential dangers posed by the use of the Internet by our children."
The conspiracy count carries a maximum statutory penalty of five years in federal prison. Each count of accessing protected computers, each of which alleges that the access was for the purpose of intentionally inflicting emotional distress on M.T.M., carries a maximum possible penalty of five years in prison.
An indictment contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Drew will be summoned to appear for an arraignment in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles in June.
This case was investigated by special agents with the FBI in St. Louis and Los Angeles.

MYSPACE SUICIDE CASE - SOME TRUTH AT LAST
I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks since I've written... Well, last week I didn't have a class... I spent the majority of my days working on props... Which was a good thing, because I had to get those done... Nothing really exciting happened... On my day off, 4th of July, I went and watched fireworks with Lori and Kylee behind Target, and then we went to Wal-Mart, and there we actually had a better view, so we sat on top of the car and watched them for awhile... Eddie called and we got Wendy's, and then we came back to camp, Kylee went home, and Eddie, Lori and I sat on a blanket under the stars for a few hours... I had my melted chocolate frosty, and soggy, cold fries... LOL...
So this week I have 4 kids in my class... It's a much more cooperative group, and they take their time on things... We are actually incorporating drama, and a little bit of sign language this week... There are three girls and one boy... The boy, this afternoon, told me that he's signing up for Creative Arts again next year, and expects me to be there... Unfortunately, I don't think that will happen... But it was sweet of him to say that. (Both him signing up for it, and me coming back.)
So, I've been really stressed lately... I have a online math course I have to finish before college in the fall... It really sucks, because I hardly have time, and when I do, I feel like chilling, because I was so busy with other things... *Sigh*... Oh well... I WILL do it.
Oh, and, something I can't forget... I'M AN AUNT! My mom called me early this morning to tell me that my older sister had a baby girl this morning.... How exciting! My mom, younger sister, and younger brother are on their way to see them... (It's like a 12 hour drive) They offered to swing by and pick me up if I could get a ride to Chicago... But, that would mean I have to stay here longer at the end of the summer... Anyway, I'm staying here... Well, aside from tonight, when I am going to Chicago until tomorrow evening...
In all honesty, I don't really have much to say... Just thought I'd throw a random blog out there for the cyber world to eat... Because not many people read my blog anyway... Haha... Ciao!
The light from the sunset shone into the living room. I looked to the corner. Katie and Sophie were playing with their little toy mouse, as usual. They look so cute when they’re playing together like that. I couldn’t help but smile. As I walked over to say hello, I wondered where the third cat was. Smokey had been hiding a lot lately. It seemed like he only would come out to eat nowadays. But before I could do anything about it, I heard the phone ring. It took me a second to recognize the sound; the phone didn’t ring very often. “Grandma? Is that you?” the voice asked. I knew who it was right away.
“Yes, this is your grandma! How are you, Lori? I haven’t seen you since last month!” I exclaimed, maybe sounding a little too enthusiastic. But she didn’t seem to mind.
“Oh, I’m doing great, school’s going well,” Lori said. “Anyway, I called you to see if you could come to my swim meet on Saturday. It’d be nice to have somebody to cheer me on!”
“I would love to go, of course I’m not busy,” I said. The rest of the conversation was cheerful, although short. As I hung up the phone, I glanced out the window. The sun had disappeared. Already? Time seems to go so fast when you get older… I walked into my room. For the first time, I noticed my bed looked quite out of place. The rest of the room consisted of natural hues, like browns and muted greens. But the quilt made for my bed was an odd array of colors, which made it look much brighter. Not in a bad way, though. Someday I should try to achieve the same effect with my watercolors; that would be quite interesting indeed.
I was just about to call it a night when I found Smokey, all bundled up in the corner. He must be lonely, I thought. The other cats didn’t pay much attention to him.
“You need a friend, Smokey,” I said. He just purred and curled up in a ball to fall asleep. I chuckled and fell asleep too.
The next morning I woke up earlier than usual. I knew if I didn’t get out of the house right away I’d just be stuck home all day. It’s an odd thing about me- once I settle in, I don’t want to go anywhere. So persuaded myself to get into the car and drive to the library to do some reading.
When I finally climbed up the library stairs, I was out of breath.
“I’m way too old for this,” I huffed as I opened the door. Yet it would not open, no matter how hard I pulled. I glanced at the sign on the door.
Library Hours
Mon-Thurs- 1-8 P.M.
Fri-Sat- noon-6
Sunday- Closed
Today was Friday; the library wouldn’t open until noon. I still had an hour to wait! So I went all the way back down the stairs and into my car. I started driving around randomly. What would I do for a whole hour? As I drove, I saw a row of little shops I had never seen before. One in particular caught my eye. A pet shop! I impulsively parked my car and went inside. I walked straight over to the cats. All the little kittens were so adorable! One of them, however, seemed a little older than the others. I asked the shopkeeper about him/her.
“Oh, that cat’s been here for awhile. We’ll have to get rid of him if nobody buys ‘im soon,” he said casually. I supposed he was used to that sort of thing.
I watched the cat walk around in its cage for a bit. It was as white as a ghost! I immediately fell in love with him. So I decided to do something wild and crazy for once. With the new cat in my arms, I somehow managed to drive myself home.
“Jeez Melinda, don’t you have enough cats in there?” my neighbor inquired. Usually those comments bothered me, but today I just smiled.
“No sir, I’ll never have enough cats!”
“Ugh, crazy cat woman,” I heard him mutter as I went into the front door, but I didn’t care. I was much too happy to care!
“Hey Smokey, I think you’re gonna have a new friend now!” I called as I walked into the door.
Smokey, who was camping out under the table, stood up and walked over. He saw the other cat in my arms and watched with interest.
“His name’s Casper,” I announced, and placed him on the ground. By the way they looked at each other, I could tell they were going to be good friends. Since I hadn’t gone to the library, I spent the rest of the afternoon rereading an old book of mine and watching the two new cats get to know each other.
The next morning I woke up on the couch. I was so caught up in what I was reading, I guess I just dozed off with the book wide open on my lap. I looked at my watch. It was noon already?! I hadn’t slept in that late since I was a teenager! Lori’s swim meet would be starting soon, too. So I dashed over to my closet and put on my nice red sweater from Christmas and a pair of black pants. After a quick bowl of Cheerios I drove to the pool as fast as I could.
I didn’t even get to see Lori until afterwards. It was awkward; I don’t think Lori’s parents usually attend her swim meets. All the girls were wearing swim caps and goggles, too! I didn’t know which one was her. So I had to sit by myself, once I found a space on the bleachers. It was really warm in there, actually. I immediately regretted wearing my fuzzy Christmas sweater.
When the meet was over I walked to my car, feeling defeated. I was too tired to find Lori in the crowd. But I got lucky- she found me instead.
“Grandma! We won, our team one!” Lori cried. She gave me an excited hug. Seeing her happy like that- it made sitting in that steaming room for 3 hours worth all the trouble.
“Oh Lori, I’m so proud of you,” I said. And I really meant it, too. I laughed and my eyes started to tear up a bit.
After visiting for awhile, we went to a nearby Applebee’s to celebrate. The food was absolutely wonderful! And before I knew it the sun was setting again. The day had passed by quickly, just like it always does.
O.k. I found this site by searching for info on my friend Lori Coss who passed away, wow almost a week a go. Anyone who knew her, I would like to talk to you and share how you knew her and stories about her. I knew her from church. I have a few stories and will share if you'd like. Anyways I wanted to post the words to a song I wrote. I wrote it a few days after Lori passed and it is dedicated and inspired to/by her. I am currently working on music for it on my guitar. I call it "Dying to Live(Lori's Song). I miss her, she was so very encouraging. I hope I can encourage those who knew her through this song I wrote, the way she encouraged others. God bless!!!
Dying To Live(Lori's Song)
By Anna Dickinson 10/24/2005
He took her home the other day
Come rest my child
You've walked the narrow way
And made it through the trial
Life is but a vapor
Blown into the wind...
Chorus
We are all dying, dying to live
Everyone's dying just to live
To live, to Live is You.
When my work is done here
Will I be ready to go?
Eternity draws ever near
Today, there's still seeds to sow
Every day we borrow
Brings us closer to You.
Chorus
Each day I'm dying, dying to live
Everyday dying, dying just to live
To live, to live for You.
Bridge
This world's lost a precious saint
But we know to die is gain...
Chorus
Each day we're dying, dying to live
Everyday dying, dying just to live
To live, to live for Truth
Dying, dying to live, to live for Love
Dying, dying to live, to live for Truth
Dying, dying to live, to live for You.
