Livingroom @ MindSay
The aftermath of a big dinner! The first few pictures are of two of the teenagers and Randy lazing around on the furnature with my cats! One picture of a group of folks in the kitchen visiting and the rest of the pictures of folks sitting around the dinning room table visiting. The rest of the kids were either on the floor knocked out, upstairs hitting on each other with the sparring gear atticsmouse sent my kids, playing on the computer, or outside playing with the dog or running in the woods!
I've always wanted to make my bedroom into a real boudoir... The kind of place that when you walk into it, you know it's not only my sanctuary but a true domain of luxury where I can entertain guests. Yet I've never really had the money to do such a thing, and I still don't, but this time I've put my thinking cap on and threw a few little glittery things together and came up with a little piece of palace luxury on the cheap! When I got my new bed I was disappointed with the cheap sheets and pillows that came with it. I already had a big collection of decorative pillows, some I've made, others I bought on clearance (no less), and the colors all together never really did match, but somehow, somehow I managed to find a gold brocade and velvet patch comforter set that literally has all the colors of my pillows in it! It was originally a set worth over $100 marked down to a mere $59. At first I wasn't going to go for the set, wondering if maybe it was put on clearance because someone had exchanged it for something else or maybe the comforter itself had some flaws in it. On the contrary, I was assured it had not been opened before and that it was in tip-top shape. So I grabbed it, took it home, fell in love, and all the pieces of my boudoir fell into place. Seriously. I love it when that happens. When while decorating your home you can match your old decor with the new as if it was all meant to be. And I think it was. I had left over curtain sheers and a valance and I just whipped that up into a makeshift canopy. I even hung up this little golden half moon man in the middle of the cieling and he casts lovely shadows, like having my own little crescant moon in my own private heaven.
You'll also notice here that I finally purchased my print of the Bayswater Omnibus and, for now, I posted it on my wall without a frame (frames are expensive!) surrounded by small Mucha prints framed in gold. On the opposite wall, near my closet, I have a print of Zodiaque Le Taureau by Johfra a mysterious artist who is so elusive that there isn't much on him online (I should know because I just spent the last hour trying to find something, anything on him and all I got is a link to a French site selling prints). So now whenever anyone walks into my boudoir, they're bound to have an experience. I make everything as romantic as possible. Now I sleep in such perfect slumber...
Maybe too much. I'm still sick with a sinus infection and the medication I'm on to clear it up is making me drowsey to the point where I'm not much use to anyone, including myself. I keep nodding off here and there to the point of such frustration, I'm left feeling such terrible defeat and isolation. As well as making myself lonely because by the time I wake up, there's no one to see and nothing much to do in the middle of the night or early morning. I actually forced myself outside today and experienced a slight panic attack on the way to the computer lab because I was just so anxious to get online so I can share my thoughts. I hate having an anxiety disorder, but it does make me appreciate the days I don't have freak-outs.
Another thing I'm most proud of about my new apartment now is I found a place to hang up my fox tapestry. I had this big blank wall in the livingroom area. I wasn't sure if the colors where going to be just right. The fox tapestry had a rusty red, not wine red color to it but somehow the cream and brown colors seemed to be the right mix for the livingroom. I even managed to match a few of my extra decorative pillows to go on the couch. Just that little bit of wine color and that earthy green liven up my big black leather couch!
And I finally found something to go with my terrible blue and pink floral wall in the kitchen. Somehow La Belle Dame Sans Merci goes so well with that wall...
I looked back and seen something standing up looking like Gizmo or something. I stared at it as I thought it was a mini owl or something---then it started backing up, with it's claws raised. That was when I ran to alert anyone that may have been awake. I ran past again, after ducking any attacks made upon me, and got my camera.
You tend to miss a lot of good shots when you are running for your life. I had no idea a scared mole could be so mean.
The cat looked like "what the hell did I start?"
There Marvin the mole is pushing the ride toy in a panic.
You do silly things when wind up in strange livingrooms.
Marvin is like, "Come on, I can take you all on!"
"I got a claw too" (I missed a shot of Marvin biting the claw)
I swear it looked like it was talking smack.
Released from the bowl and planning new tactics.
Have to do the only humane thing.....off to the neighbors you go.
On his way........
Song playing in background........Born free........
Marvin is released and says,"Can it be?"
Looking back Marvin says,"Thanx guys, after cats, livingrooms, people and claws, I was starting to ponder the meaning of my existance."
"See ya later guys, I will never forget you, and I will tell my friends and family leave your gardens in tact thru eternity."
True story, ya'll, well, some of it.......
I'm very happy. My van is all better. It got fixed on Sunday. Now, it isn't sick anymore. Now you can drive down the road and not get motion sickness from all the bumps. A friend of ours fixed it. The cool thing is that I was there the whole time, but, I slept in a recliner in his garage for about an hour and a half. They kept thinking I would wake up when the air compressor recharged but not me, not the woman who can sleep through everything.
The other cool thing is not only did we get the van fixed, but, we got rid of a bunch of sections of fence we have had standing up against the garage, as well as a bunch of railroad stakes that were behind the garage. The guy who fixed my van took that stuff too. Which made his day and ours.
UGH, I'm supposed to be getting our living room ready for my mom and her boyfriend to come over tonight and work on popcorning the walls. I'll be lucky if I get all the stuff moved let alone get the papering done before they get here. I'm still supposed to be sleeping as it is.
Ok, I better get my butt in gear and get this stuff done.
Jenny
