I'm currently reading Jean M. Auel's novel, THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR, first of Earth's Children Series. Jean Auel is also the author of national bestseller, THE MAMMOTH HUNTERS AND THE VALLEY OF HORSES.
The Clan of the Cave Bear is a stunning epic that will stir your imagination where you will be taken back to the dawn of mankind and the future of humanity through a child survivor, Ayla, who was discovered by the Clan of the Cave Bear composed of men and women different from her species. Ayla was first cited as a stranger and outcast by the clan, but through time, the clan welcomed her. She led the clan in their struggle for survival.
The book is a page turner one. I can't resist putting it off, but I have to for the purpose of blogging it.
The first part tells about the earthquake which left Ayla, a child, as the lone survivor. She was swimming in the river, naked when the earth began to crumble. After the earthquake, she looked for her parents but they were nowhere to find. With no food, water, and clothes, she slept through the cold nights with an empty stomach. She has nowhere to turn to. Until she fell asleep and got sick along the way...
