Hello World!
Being a programmer, it seems appropriate to me to start out with a..

Hello World!

Of course, in the blogging community, the tradition may be more of a "My First Post" kind of thing. I'm actually just posting this first entry because of the overwhelming response from Lee's post suggesting people give me a warm "hello."

Now you should have a place to hang your hat when you come for a visit. Now I just need some furniture... hmmm.

April 6, 1919 India Came to a Stand-still

On this day, April 6th, 1919, Gandhi's influence witnessed a country of 350 million people, without the benefit of internet communications act in a unified and peaceful way that saw India stand still. Given the nature of the governance in that time, it was called A Day of Prayer and Fasting.

In accordance with the call to see The World Stand Still, I'm suggesting much the same thing and depending upon what part of the world you are in, you will gather in family and / or community settings that honors peace and sharing with loved ones, and seeking ways to include those who might be alone.

Realizing that in some parts of the world, police action and government scenarios will not tolerate even peaceful civil disobedience in public, choosing to stay at home in a peaceful manner is equally as effective. Were every soul on the planet to participate, who then would be the first to be punished?

All the same, I understand that this message may not reach everywhere. I realize that not everyone has the ability to participate. And essential services, such as adequate policing, hospital care, and other basics required to sustain us all in our lives must continue to run. Please act accordingly.
