Kitties @ MindSay

Another celebration of sorts.
Today marks the second anniversary of the day I brought Chloe and Oliver home from their foster mom's house. Hard to believe my giants were ever once this little...
First night:

And now (also showing off my new duvet cover and decorative pillow from Ikea):

Oliver was attempting to capture Chloe's tail, in case you were wondering.
So, we'll celebrate the occasion with some extra cuddles and I'll be making a donation to Philadelphia Paws, which is the organization that financed the litter (spay/neuter, medication, etc.). I'm also going to try and dig up their foster mom's e-mail address so I can send her an updated photo. They're obviously not suffering. :)

Invention.
What was once a collapsable travel food dish has now become a fun slip 'n slide toy...

Stuff from the weekend...
I love having my camera back again, safe and sound and functioning...

On Friday, Chloe and Oliver got a new toy for their birthday present. And yes, I'm being a mean Mommy and making them share. They didn't seem to mind, though.

Yesterday after work at the SPCA I stopped into Home Depot and picked up some new plants and such for the balcony. Now I just need to do something about the rug...

Trying herb-growing again. Starting with seeds didn't work too well last year.

Then today, Oliver helped me pay some bills online.

And Chloe helped me make the bed.

Good grief, girl, I can see your tonsils.

Then she found a bug and all thoughts of helping Mommy went out the window.

After eating the bug, she came back to assist with the bed-making.

And the day was topped off with a few batches of these little goodies: Oatmeal-butterscotch... things. The name/recipe was printed on the back of the butterscotch morsels package, but I threw the package away and I am not digging through the trash just to find the cookie name.

Oh, and don't tell Mom, but they were pretty much my dinner. I can't help it if a few cookies crumbled apart when I transferred them from the baking sheet to the paper towels to cool off...

How was your weekend?

They say it's your birthday.
Guess who's two years old today?

That's right, these two knuckleheads. Give or take a few days, Chloe and Oliver and the rest of their littermates were born two years ago somewhere in Philadelphia.

Look how little and cute they were! (Granted, they were about two-three weeks old in this picture, but it's the closest I've got since that's how old they were when their foster Mommy picked them up from PAWS)

What the hell happened? :)

Happy birthday kids!

My cats are buttheads.
Complete and utter buttheads who totally embarrassed me tonight at the vet's office. They were growling, hissing, spitting, lunging, swiping, clawing jerkoffs. The vet had to call in an assistant who donned huge, up-to-the-elbow, uber-thick friggin' construction worker gloves in order to even handle Chloe.

*sigh* I swear to God, my face had to have been three different shades of red. I wanted to hug the vet and his staff for being so nice about the whole thing. They even gave me a second carrier so I could keep Chloe and Oliver separated for the ride home, since they attacked each other in the same carrier. I'll at least be sending them a thank-you card.

But, regardless of my cats' behavior, the vet did offer some helpful tips and information on what vaccines Chloe and Oliver should get, and which ones they could pass on since they're strictly indoors and don't have prolonged contact with other animals on a daily basis. He also suggested some ways I could help Oliver lose some weight (he's up to 19 pounds now and Chloe is 13 pounds). Ollie also needs to come back in six months for dental cleaning since he has some tartar build-up. Though I may order some dental care stuff off of DrsFosterandSmith.com to help him out, and hopefully strike the need of a cleaning by the time October rolls around. Even with a 10% discount for being an SPCA employee, the bill tonight wasn't cheap.

Oh, and what has become of my two Hellcats who, an hour ago couldn't stand the sight of each other, you ask?

Buttheads.
