Bizarrest Synchronicity
Truly, this might be the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me.

A couple weeks ago I was talking to my friend Sonya and she asked me about our mutual friend Kristi (whom I call KB). I told her that I hadn't chatted with KB in a while, we kind of go in spurts. Oddly enough, a couple days later I get a voicemail message from my friend Greg who is KB's boyfriend. He was watching a Twins memories thing on tv and saw Corey Koskie who I have LOVED for years (he is the bobblehead in my car) and called to poke fun at me. That's just Greg's way.

So fine, then a few days ago I am thinking "boy I really should call KB and get together with her" and that night I got an email from her asking to get together. I replied and we are setting up a date. I suggested tonight. She replied this morning (or late last night, not sure) and said she can't do it tonight but how about next week. Right before I was leaving for work today, I was checking my email and saw her reply and responded to her.

Now I haven't talked to her in a few months, so this is a huge amount of contact lately. Then I leave for work and I am driving in on I-94 and I pass this car. I sort of glance over- you know how you sometimes just look at someone as you're passing them- and, wait for it.....it is KB!

No freaking kidding I drove past her on the interstate as I was driving through work....moments after sending her an email. What are the odds???????

I still can't believe it. We were both laughing and looking shocked as we drove together almost all the way to my work. (She only lives a few minutes from where I work).

Talk about synchronicity! I am attributing all of this bizarre good fortune to Corey Koskie. Take that Greg!

Birthday Season Redux

Well, as I mentioned a couple of posts ago, it is birthday season. I've already tagged those who have celebrated thus far, but we now have a couple more to add to the list. Since their mothers' haven't sent me any new pictures yet, I am dipping into my reserves.

First we'll start with my little cousin, Hunter, who is a newly minted 3 year old. I searched my Flickr account to find my favorite picture of him:

This was a while ago...so he looks a bit different, but this is still pretty cute. Happy Birthday Hunter!

And on to my other 3-year-old friend....miss Victoria is also celebrating this big birthday. Somehow I don't already have her birthday photos-shocking if you know her mommy. So, again, I will turn to Flickr and show you my fave pic of her:

Look at the look on her face! It was the first time she climbed up there all by herself, I guess she was amazed at what a big girl she is. Happy Birthday Victoria!

And then, we have the promised photos from my girlfriend KB's 30th party. (And I caution you: they are all a bit dark because they're from my camera phone and we were in a bar at night. Ah well)

Here's the birthday girl!                              The two newly 30 girls!

I actually have one of the boys                    Steph, Kristi, and Greg.

smiling but I thought this one was

actually a cuter picture of Kristi

with her favorite bartenders.

Greg and Steph, the planners.                    Holly "showing off" and distracting Kristi to help

us win darts. We still lost.

Now we're going to dip out of birthday mode for just a moment and send off a big "Welcome Home" to my girl Muffy, who has been traveling in Southeast Asia since shortly after my birthday. She visited Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand that I know of---can't wait to do cocktails and see the pictures and hear the stories!

Okay, that should take care of business for a couple weeks.

Happy Birthday to our current celebrants. Expect more pictures!

30 days. (Yep, you read that right! A whole month of being smoke-free!!!!!)

Birthday Season

Birthday season is upon us, at least in my world. It always seems that my birthday kicks off a reaction of birthdays. Yay me!

As of now, I owe a happy birthday to my darling nephew, Simon, who turned 2 on April 4th. I have a couple cute pictures of him from his celebration at Grandma's house.

Here's the first: the naked birthday boy. He was showing me something out the window and completely ignoring Grandma who was trying to get him into his jammies after his bath.

And I wanted a cute picture of him from his second birthday (I had to work so I didn't even get to see him until bedtime) but he wouldn't look at me and smile. This is as close as we came.) But he sure is cute!

Next, a happy golden birthday to my little buddy Clayton. He turned 5 on April 5th! I had to work during his party, so I don't have any pictures, but fear not, I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Also, a very happy 30th birthday to my friend, KB. She turns 30 today. At almost exactly three weeks younger than me, it is fun to go through these things together. There will be some pictures coming; her celebration is this Saturday.

There are plenty more birthdays coming--just wait and see. But for now, Happy Happy, to all those celebrating the first week of April!

24 days.
